I found PW Stephens through my insurance company and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Dave Farrell has been so helpful! I discovered mold and asbestos in my home after a leak. Dave took care of everything promptly and efficiently, so I could get my house repaired and back to better than before. I feel completely comfortable that my mold problem has been solved! Thank you Dave and PW Stephens.

I was referred to PW Stephens by my insurance company after I had a flood in my kitchen. I spoke to Brian on the phone, and he came out same day to look at my job. I was worried about having asbestos in my house, but Brian was very informative and made me feel very comfortable. He got approval from my insurance company and scheduled his crew to start the work the next day!!! The guys who came in to do the work were very clean and professional. They finished the work in two days, just as they stated they would. I was very impressed with the entire company.

As a full service general contractor specializing in water and fire damage repairs, I have used this company since relocating from Seattle Washington four years ago. I have worked extensively with Rick Adams, who handles my account for PW Stevens, as well as Scott McFadden who is my project manager of choice. I have been very satisfied with their pricing, work performance and handling any customer service issues that may arise from time to time. They are always on my short list when bidding projects. We had water damage occur in our guest house while the tenants were out of the residence for a few days. When they returned there was 2 inches of water through out the house and watering running out of the door. I submitted a claim through my insurance company and Servpro came out to remove the water. They noticed mold and asbestos in areas of the residence and contacted PW Stephens Environmental to remove the damaged areas. I promptly received a call from project manager Dave Farrell who advised me he could be at the residence within the hour. Dave was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained in detail what work needed to be done. The removal of asbestos & mold was completed in two days. Dave kept checking the work at the residence, and calling me to keep me informed since I do not live at that residence. I was very satisfied with their work, would recommend them to family and friends and to request Dave.

I was referred to PW Stephens from my insurance company after having a water damage. It was found that I had asbestos and mold in my bathroom (lucky me). The estimator Dave Farrell and his tech Hector did an amazing job. I was extremely scared to be in my home during the job but both Dave and Hector reassured me everything would be fine and it was. American Environmentals testing came back clean.
I just wish my contractor was as quick as PW Stephens.

It was a pleasant experience working with PW Stevens. They were very professional and hard working from the project manager, Dave, to the two gentlemen who performed the work, Norberto and Ricardo. Dave went beyond the call of duty and checked in several times during and after the project was completed. I have and will continue to recommend them.

In response to my previous review, the owner of the company took swift action to remedy the situation. He not only emailed me with his solutions, he stopped by to talk to face to face. I could tell he was as passionate to the problem as I was. Now we need to get the rest of the planet on board.

I have nothing but nice things to say about Steven B and his team at PW Stevens, who made the the unpleasant process of discovering/​remediating as manageable as possible. It was devastating to me to have a pipe burst in the master bath wall, flood the bedroom, discover asbestos in the drywall and ducts, and try to get all cleaned up and restored while eight and a half months pregnant. This company worked with me to make the pricing as fair as possible, and had the job completed within days. So pleased with their customer service. THANKS AGAIN!

These guys are awful. They were to remove my asbestos. Then turned out they left some behind. They charged me again to remove it. Later i find they left even still more behind. They charged me to remove it again. And yes folks… About a year later found more asbestos! But after an argumentative phone conversation they removed it for free. DO NOT use this company.

PW Stephens was referred to me by
, so Evista is in the review as well. Both PW Stephens and Evista dropped the ball at the end. After paying both PW Stephens and Evista close to $ 20,000 to make sure almost every single asbestos fiber was removed from my home, they did not properly test or clean my house in the end. I had to hire a third party asbestos testing company and asbestos abatement company to clean up the work and testing that Evista and PW Stephens failed to thoroughly do. When I called Evista, and told them that my house still had asbestos in it after PW Stephens «cleaned» it, and they cleared it, Evista told me that they never cleared my house. Then, why did Evista send the final paper work to whomever saying my house was clear? Anyway, I am in the middle of trying to figure out how to get a refund from both of those crook companies PW Stephens and Evista. Do yourself a favor, and stay away from PW Stephens and

They are rude once they have gotten paid, don’t do a thorough job until the very end, charge too much, leave asbestos in your home while saying it’s clean and clear, lie about it, don’t return phone calls very easily, and don’t seem to care about the unsatisfied customer that still had asbestos in their home. It’s so criminal how they operate fooling people that they are no longer exposed to asbestos when the opposite is true. PW Stephens does NOT thoroughly clean, and Evista does NOT thoroughly test after the abatement to make sure PW Stephens abated properly.

They removed the asbestos out of the gravity heater in my house (built in 1928). Coincidentally my nephew removes asbestos in Colorado, so I called him and asked him what I should expect. The young man Donavan that worked at my house took every precaution to safely remove the asbestos as well as sending out someone later in the day to check the air quality. I would highly recommend this company!

When I read the other reviews it seems as if I am not the only one who had a bad experience. I spoke with Brian. I called him to let him know I received a notice of completion but the work was not completed. It took him 3 days to call me back, then he acted as if he had no idea that the work wasn’t completed. This guy was so unprofessional. I told him I’m going based on what they sent me «notice of completion.» Anyway, it sounded like he could care less.
Also he mentioned I was going to get charged for removing the remainder flooring in the master bath… Yeah what a joke.
FIRED.

These guys must be in the pocket of Farmers Ins. because they show up to asses to removal, then you never hear from them. When I finally got someone on the phone they inform me that we were on a 10 day waiting list. Your Fired! Terrible costomer service. My environment is much better with this company.

We had a bump or two in the road but Steve handled all of the concerns immediately. Our loss was fire related and PWS cleared our asbestos contamination. Steve was a pleasure to work with. I would certainly recommend their services.

Unprofessional and terrible customer service! Was hired by our insurance company to perform work. They ended up leaving contaminated debris in our backyard for 11 days! The have done nothing but point fingers at everyone else for their mistakes. The actual work performed was OK, but behind the scenes there is something wrong with this company…

They quoted to remove the asbestos from the attic, they missed a place when the HVAC did the duct work, they won’t remove it without being charged again. Will not use them again.

We had a fire at our home and the insurance company (AAA) contracted P.W. Stephens Environmental Company to do the abatement processes. It was a nightmare! I will be brief in our experience:
1) We never signed the contract that P.W. Stephens, BUT THEY STARTED ANYWAYS with no notice to us – and billed the insurance company.
2) The content of the P.W. Stephens Contract (to which they submitted to the insurance company for payment – even before we agreed by signing it!) specified that (a) P.W. Stephens would post caution «signs» around the perimeter of the area in which they would be working (before starting), (b) they would have several employees working, © they would supply multiple contamination bens, and (d) and most importantly, as P.W. Stephens indicted, that we would be present in a «safe room» in order to monitor everything of which they would dispose.
3) The above contractual stipulations were never fully kept. For P.W. Stephens only had two workers there (when they billed for 3 or 4 on the contract); they only provided one contamination ben when they billed for multiple bens; and (the worst part of it) we were not present when P.W. Stephens disposed of (threw away) many things that were important and personal that we would not have in no way authorized their removal. Also, P.W. Stephens started work WITHOUT OUR WRITTEN CONSENT, for again, we would not sign until P.W. Stephens fully adjusted the contract to in order to provide an accurate and honest billing.
So we filled a complaint and fired them. We hired a different abatement/​/​environmental company. P.W. Stephens was dishonest in their billing and did a poor job — throwing away many personal items of ours without authorization.
There are much better and honest companies to choose from than that of P.W. Stephens. We did contact the owner of P.W. Stephens; he was rude, unconcerned, and thus, did nothing.
We would not want anyone to go through the same ordeal that we did with P.W. Stephens.

PW Stephens clearly told us that they could scrape our ceiling while moving around furniture, that it would just be a little more money, we therefore decided not to extend our lease at our apartment and to move into our house. Now they say we would have to completely move out and the employee (Andy) claims that he didn’t really mean all of the furniture and said we didn’t ask enough questions. This is going to make our ceiling scraping much more difficult. In addition he was really rude about the whole situation.
TL;DR. PW Stephens misled us and then were super rude about it.

Andy at PW is great. He is always responsive and provides great service.

Don’t know how my experience with them are so different from others. I was referred to them from the HVAC company I was working with to get the asbestos ducts removed. They provided a much better quote than another asbestos abatement company.
The initial guy came pretty late to give us a quote, but that was the only issue. When we hired them to remove our ducts, the workers came on time and left our house clean. It took two days but they did a good job. Hopefully I’ll never have to call them again (haha) but if I end up having future asbestos issues, I will!
