Ocean Surf Inn & Suites

Back for another long weekend of sand, sun & fun. Got the same room as last time we stayed here. As always easy check in. Room ready before 3. Renovated nicely. Thanks ocean surf suites and inn!!!

We stayed in Rm 316, the jacuzzi room the weekend of April 15 – 17. Room was clean, updated, but sterile. No wall decorations and the carpeting/​bedspread was 1972 earth tones and colors.
The jacuzzi was nice and large, but the stopper was temperamental making its use difficult. Additionally, if the picture window is not replaced soon, or an exhaust vent added, everything in the room will be damaged by steam from tub.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the deck above our heads which we were not told about during reservation nor check in. Nothing like trying to have time away from work and kids just to be awakened each morning at 7AM by guests moving furniture around on deck. Additionally, the construction noises early and throughout Saturday (again no advance notice) were fantastic mood setters.
As there seems to be effort and resources being added for remodel, in the future this may be a gem. Right now, don’t have too high of expectations.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t let that deter you! The staff was great and accommodating, the room was awesome, the view of the beach/​ocean was so close, and the continental breakfast was on point. Would definitely stay again.

Ok to start off the parking was really tight. The lobby looks ok but once you go to the second floor, where the rooms are, it starts getting dirty. The floors are cement in the hallway, no carpet, not tile. However the card to go in the room is very convenient, a simple swipe and your in. Bedding is nice and soft but the head board was full of finger prints. The bathroom was very dirty and the bath towels provided are kid size. The shower water is either cold or boiling hot and it took quite a while to adjust it to the right temperature. The view from the balcony on the second floor is pointless, all I saw was the back of the houses in front of the beach. The walls are thin as paper anyone in your floor coming in or out of their room will be heard clearly. The breakfast is great, pancakes, cereal, beagles, milk, orange juice, danishes, fruits, etc. My conclusion: If your a bachelor/​bachelorette, don’t mind a little dirt, thin walls, go for it, the location is great and the beach is beautiful. For a couple that wants a romantic getaway but has a budget that matches this place not so much. I would advice you to be a little further from the beach to keep the hotel price similar, but have a nicer place to stay, which is what I wish I had done.

The rooms were beautiful, complimented by their staff who were friendly, helpful, and gracious… Free popcorn, games, and beach gear were also appreciated by our family… We’ll be back!

This place is a hidden gem. Simple, yet updated, rooms. Easy, free parking. So affordable. The woman working the front desk couldn’t have been more accommodating. I will definitely be back!

Stayed in the hot tube suite, it’s the only room with a view and a hot tub. For the price, it doesn’t get any better. Room was clean, jacuzzi tub was big enough for two, with room to spare. The water gets hot fast, so just keep an eye on it, and there’s a fridge in the room and an ice machine on the second floor! The balcony was sick, beautiful view of the beach and a little table and chairs to chill on. Super close to a few restaurants and bars, and a nice continental breakfast. The hotel itself is cool, and the ocean is just steps away. They have their own parking which is great, because beach parking is always a drag. They do close the doors after 10 (I think) but you can use your room card to get in through the parking lot door. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

The hotel is perfect! Just steps from the beach, very clean, and close by plenty of shops. Our room had a balcony, and you can tell the rooms were recently renovated. We stayed four nights and it was amazing.

How is this place 4.5 overall stars?
My boyfriend is not from the area, but he was trying to be adorable and surprise me with a local spot for my birthday. He requested the suite, with an ocean view and a jacuzzi tub! Romantic!
I walked inside the lobby, and it was okay. There are some old boogie boards and kid board games to borrow. There’s also a popcorn machine that hasn’t been used in months, with stale popcorn in it. But besides the fact, we get the keys to our room #303…
Once inside the room, I notice they have bedsheets and a comforter from 1995 (you know the kind that gives a nod to motel 6 + bed bugs) and also that there are handprints on the headboard. My boyfriend told me to shake it off and let’s go to dinner. Mind you, the front desk closes at like 6pm and doesn’t reopen until the next morning.
So we go to dinner, come back, and sensibly I want to try the jacuzzi tub! I get in, and notice black floating things in the water with me… They’re ants. SICK! Then I see them all walking in orderly fashion around the tub. Not ok! Remember how the front desk is closed? Yeah, now I have to sleep in this room, with no help from the staff.
I barely sleep, wake up the next morning, and I am out of there ASAP. We explain what happened to the front desk staff and all we got is «we’re sorry.» And they STILL CHARGED US FULL PRICE. Not okay!!!
Only stay here if you’re into motel 6’s or looking for a dirty, sticky, shady night. +1 star because they have a pretty decent continental breakfast (surprisingly!).
Update as of ²⁄₂₃: I called the owner/​manager to let her know about my experience. She said «oh I’ll have to get the exterminator out here then. Sorry!» She didn’t refund me or even give a partial refund. WOW. Shocked.

We booked a trip to stay here recently and I was surprised by how low cost it was. Surely there had to be something wrong with it, right? I assure you, if you’re looking to stay here, you get a lot of bang for your buck.
The room was clean, updated, the staff was very nice and helpful, close to the beach and some local amenities.
The only reason I can’t give this a five star review, is largely something the staff probably can’t do much to help — it’s noisy. The PCH gives a little noise and the room walls are a little thin. If folks check-​in late at night, you can expect to be woken up.
But I have every intention to come back again. I won’t hesitate to stay here again, and neither should you.

Absolutely amazing! Great view from the left side balcony, 30yard walk to the ocean, great rate! Win win win! Bed’s were so nice all four of us slept great! This is our new spot!

This place is amazing!!! We stayed here on the Fourth of July, had a great time! Deb and her staff ROCK!!! Rooms are great, view was great! Like 30 seconds from the sand. Love it!!!

We needed somewhere within a reasonable distance to the Anaheim Convention Center (30 min) but on the water. I found Ocean Surf Inn & Suites because it was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area.
Couldn’t be happier, sure there are probably nicer hotels with better breakfasts but the place was extremely clean, friendly staff and a pretty nice location ($ 5 Über rides to a couple of different beaches).
Speaking of beaches, sunset beach definitely isn’t the ideal place for kids. The water gets deep fast and the waves are pretty intense. I wouldn’t let my kids go out more than 10 — 15 feet, that’s how rough it was.
Back to the hotel (great 90’s song by the way), they have a nice courtyard and a balcony above the 3^rd floor where you can see the beach and they have some really nice outdoor furniture on.
Another thing I really liked was how, rather than throwing away everything that people had forgotten, they allowed guests to use them. They had a collection of board games, beach chairs, towels, blankets, etc. for guests to use, free of charge. They obviously cleaned them and threw away the bad stuff but we were able to use a boogie board at no cost.
Lastly, there are quite a few Groupon rentals around the hotel. We ended up renting 4 paddle boards for 2 hours at only $ 80 total, about 2 blocks down the street.
I’d definitely recommend it.

For the price with an ocean view, this place gets the job done. I paid $ 177, for a room with 2 queen beds and a view of the ocean. You are not directly on Huntington Beach near all of the action, and you are very close to dog beach.
The website does make this place seem a touch nicer than what it really is, but that is to be expected.
The pros: the view, the location, the staff, the beds were decent.
The cons: the noise, I heard doors slamming all night, the breakfast is lame, the parking is free but minimal. The majority of parking is for compact cars, over half of the vehicles were SUV’s. Didn’t seem to work. However when I parked illegally they rolled with it, so I will choose my battles.
There is a rooftop deck that is better for sunbathing than anything else. The view from the roof is actually semi obstructed and you can’t see much of the beach. I got to Huntington in 5 minutes, and Venice Beach in 40.
This building reminds me of an old Victorian style home that was renovated into a hotel.
I would stay here again, but I do hope they do some minor upgrades.

Nice clean room. The king bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is new. Ocean view over a single story house, fine by me. Staff is very friendly.
It is very noisy outside my room tonight as there are obnoxious guests with unattended screaming children at 10:30 pm.
Woke up Friday at 6 am to a trailer pulling in under our balcony in the parking lot. They proceeded to set up for the day with club music playing too loud for the time of morning and act like they were the only ones there. Zero respect for us or anyone else sleeping at the hotel. Come to find out they were with the people who let their kids scream. Jerks! Friday night was very quiet as they left!
The rest of the stay was pleasant and enjoyable. We will come again.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our fifteenth anniversary. It was so romantic! The hot tub was perfect and the view from the balcony was beautiful. The room was clean and well decorated. There was a microwave and mini fridge. The customer service was great. I recommend this place for any couples looking for a getaway!

Called a couple months ago to reserve a block of rooms for my sisters wedding on May 22.
The lady I spoke with, I believe her name was Debbie, was the absolute sweetest.
She was super patient and understanding and couldn’t have been any more pleasant to deal/​speak with. She was so accommodating. After calling multiple hotels and vendors for the wedding it was the biggest relief to speak to someone who was so nice and didn’t make me feel inferior or like they were doing me a favor. (even though she absolutely was)
She definitely made me feel appreciated and welcomed. Can’t wait to meet her and stay at her beautiful hotel.

It’s small family hotel. It’s very clean and the rooms have been updated. It’s very family friendly has stuff for the beach near the front office. Does not allow dogs:(or pets. No problem with parking an the area has lots of food choices.

What a great experience all around me and my hubby booked through expedia with no dissapointment !!! this is such a cute place and just steps away from the sandy beach!!! I loved the customer service from the woman manager she was so nice and friendly and recommend a great restaurant (captin jacks) pricy but that’s what we were looking for… she left a great impression on us to come back the room was cute and comfy also the bed!!! they are renovating slowing to perk the place up which will be great!!! I think the price was reasonable !!! the hotel is in great shape it felt homely… the free breakfast was great too nice and healthy with doughnuts too… I will be coming back (:

No complaints! Very reasonable price, walking distance to beach, friendly staff… They offered a little selection of cold breakfast too. Little commodities go a long way! We stayed from Thursday night to Sunday morning and house cleaning came each day. Also, they have some beach stuff you can borrow if you didn’t bring any.
