Mustache Mikes Italian Ice

Quality was good, but when served with horrible customer service it’s just another Italian ice. I was at my daughter’s soccer game at 12:00pm it was 98 and I wanted to get an Italian ice for my 2yr old twins. I asked for another cup so I could split it between the two of them and the cashier told me I would have to order 2!!! Are you kidding me? I have to pay $ 3 so I can have an extra cup! I explained why and still received the same reply. Knowing I could not leave without one for my twins I ordered a large one. I went to the truck next door and asked to pay for a cup of ice so I would at least get something in exchange for my money. They gave it to me for free! The owners should learn a little customer service! Especially when you set up at a kids soccer game. Is that $.25 really worth losing a weekly customer?

When I was a kid, I loved blue raspberry icees. Da Bomb is my grown-​up italian ice dessert of choice. YUM!

Oh my gosh, the BEST italian ice! This truck was at the foodfest at Santa Anita RT, and this was our last dessert before we left. We ordered the Big Daddy and the Jolly Rancher. My friends liked the jolly rancher, it had sour apple, watermelon and lemon and I liked the Big Daddy because it tasted like the Big Stick! Aww. fond childhood memories of chasing the ice cream truck for a big stick. Both were fantastic, light and creamy. I think we all just closed our eyes and signed. Yes, it was worth $ 10 bucks.

Talk about a pleasant surprise.
The fiancé and I were meandering about the Wings Wheels and Rotors Expo at the Los Al JFTB. She had never been, and it had been 3 years for me. I wasn’t expecting much, and so through my stories she wasn’t expecting a whole lot either. The entire event surprised us, but none so much as the variety of food choices that were present!
Unfortunately, we had made a quick JITB run before trudging down to the expo, so our stomachs weren’t really feeling the $ 4 hot links or $ 5 pad thai bowls.
The only words that drew us in were ‘Italian Ice’. We had no idea what that meant. We’ve had ice cream, shaved ice, frozen yogurt, and even gelato, but the concept of italian ice was foreign to us. So we nervously shuffled up to the front of the truck, only to be greeted by a girl slinging free samples. I hastily swiped a spoonful from her to give it a taste, and found that it’s like a creamy Bomb Pop, and that it’s pretty damn good! It’s flavorful, it’s icy, yet it has a creaminess that you wouldn’t find in a snow-​cone. I was sold!
So I reported my newfound allegiance to my fiancé and let her taste the other spoonful on my sample. Her eyes lit up! So now us followers had to narrow it down from the 12 or so flavors listed on the side of the truck. There were at least five flavors we listed as competitors, so you know the menu is spot-​on.
We finally decided on the Big Daddy, which comprised of all the flavors you’d find in a Big Stick. It was everything we hoped for, and more. The pineapple and cherry were perfectly delicious, and honestly made for a perfect sunny day treat. Our spoons couldn’t keep from digging in to this frozen mountain of awesome, and was the best part of our WWRE trek.
Mustache Mike’s, we’ve seen what you can do, now we can’t wait to try all of those other things you’ve done!

Italian Ice. Gluten free! Dairy free! About 8 flavors to choose from and comes by in a cart. Mike’s Italian ice was pretty good. Make sure you get the fruity flavors to really enjoy it. The sweet sugary taste will cure a sweet tooth. 3 bucks will get you a big scoop of Italian Ice. Don’t try and compare it to Ice Cream because it’s totally different. I had the Big Daddy which was cherry, lemon, and I think mango. Good stuff. Simliar to what you’d get at Frostbites in Cypress without the soft serve.
Recommendation: The Big Daddy

the only thing i have to compare it to is joe’s italian ice in garden grove and its not even close. the ice was not as flavorful but was nice and refreshing on such a hot day.

Not overly impressed. My fiancé and my friends liked it. I think it might have been the flavor my fiancé ordered. Quality was god but a little too sweet and didn’t overly thrill me.

Yum. Lots of flavors. Fat free dairy free. Right in front of sushi on fire
