Monkey House Cafe

My boyfriend and I like to visit new cafes in our area or wherever area we’ll be spending the day in so we can spend a little time studying; we have always passed by this café because it’s in the same lot as our favorite record store (Vinyl Solution) and finally decided to check it out. I was very happy we did! Business was a little slow considering it was about 4:30 pm and not everyone likes to drink coffee so late in the day but the main employee at the counter was helpful and patient while we were ordering. I ordered a blended Chai tea Latte and my boyfriend got the strawberry banana smoothie. We only had to wait 5 – 10 minutes but didn’t mind because we were settled down and studying in the corner but when the employee finished making our drinks, he even brought them to us so we wouldn’t have to go to the counter. I thought that was so nice of him! The prices are good for what you get and honestly cheaper than other drink places. I saw that they had food items that looked good too. Please give this business a chance, they had wifi and it was a great study spot!

I love this place. There’s plenty of space to spread out and work. Great food and coffee and tea drinks and decent prices.

This café is so original and cute ! I literally wanted to order the whole menu cause everything sounded so good. Their combo is phenomenal. The portions of everything were huge. Not only that, the food is uhhhmazing. From the drinks to food to their ice cream. The staff are great too! The gentleman who took my boyfriend and I order was sweet and helpful!

Been here 3 times only and well the 2 times they gave me the wrong drink and I was in a lunch break, they took forever and people who did an order after me got their order first, all i had ordered was a drink. never coming back here again. Starbucks nxt door is ALWAYS better.

I love this café for its food, drinks, and atmosphere.
The music kills it for me. Attention management: playing KIIS FM — complete with insanely loud commercials — is not only illegal in a public establishment (ASCAP /​BMI royalties are avoided that way), it is super annoying to customers who would like to have a conversation, or study, or write or work. If you must play raunchy pop music, maybe try signing up for a music service and lowering the volume a little bit.
This seemingly silly complaint honestly keeps me away, and I’d otherwise be spending money at your cute café every day of the week.

While the coffee was fantastic here, I mean very very good, the service was just beyond slow.
I came her with my family and parents, 3 coffees took over 20 minutes to make, unacceptable.
However, as tasty as they were, perfectly made, good quality, I forgive them and can’t wait to return for more!
We had two blended coffees, the coco choco chimp and the peanut butter cup, as well as some hot ones, all were perfection.
Great menu, not just coffee, but other drinks and snacks as well.
The décor is fun with the huge tree in the middle of the café, they sell small gifts as well.
Worth a stop while in the area!

Very tasty and reasonably priced blended and hot flavored coffees. Haven’t been here in long time and was disappointed to see they no longer have as many tasty treats as they used to. Very original décor — make you feel like you are sitting outside! Baked tasty treats were missed. That’s why I went in tonight… Tasty treats are on the menu but didn’t have any ??? You won’t be disappointed with the coffee! We had the Peanut Butter Cup (which we are going to try to duplicate at home, it was fabulous) and the Coconut Choco Chimp also very good but on the sweet side.

Acai bowl (Rio bowl) is runnier than what I’m used to, but I love love love Dan’s Favorite sandwich. Toasted and cheesy with the right amount of mustard! :) My LDL is a little high, so I got the half sandwich combo with mixed green salad and choice of dressing. It came with a pickle slice and cute little cookie.
Boyf says the green tea latte is frothy.

They play pop music (104.3 type stuff) and get an older crowd from what I’ve seen. I guess that’s HB lol

I picked this place out because another of my many bookmarks ONLY had burgers and I wanted something lighter. This place looked good they had sands so I was sold. Plus it wasn’t in the vicinity of the other place so there was no need for me to go out my way.
I walked in and there was only one other person inside. The same yo-​yo that nearly ran into me in the parking lot because she was in such a BIG DAMN HURRY! I saw the menu posted up high so my eye were immediately drawn to it. The first thing the popped out to me was the Turkey and Cranberry sand on ciabatta which made me think of Turkey Day. It came with your choice of chips or side tater salad so I went with the tater salad because I don’t eat many chips. My co-​eater decide to get the hot honey ham and Swiss on focaccia bread which also came with your choice of chips or tater salad so he went with the BBQ chips.
We took a seat at the table and waited for out food. Eye spied that for a café they are a bit of a one stop shop. They sale wine and do mimosas. They have the hot and cold sand, salads, bfast sand, ice cream and smoothies, hot tea, water, soda and if that is NOT enough for you they have a little boutique that is attached where you can pick up a stuffed monkey of choice, or some other little odd and end, dust collector, thing-​a-​ma-​gig, what-​cha-​ma-​call-​it type of items. Probably good for small gifts.
Our food came out and we dove in. My turkey and cranberry sand was REALLY GOOD! They didn’t skimp on the cranberry and it was almost too much. The only thing that would have made it better is if it were hot and had a little stuffing on it. But it was YUMMY! Co-​eater REALLY LOVED his sand. I took a bite and it was SLAMMIN! VERY DELISH! I will definitely get the HOT honey ham and swiss next go round.
The NICE thing with both sands were they were FRESH. The bread was SOFT and NOT hard and the service was GOOD! I was able to get my fix and find a new little sand place to tickle my fancy because they have a variety.

Really nice environment for studying and good customer service with a diverse amount of drinks for a good budget! Recommend to check out if you’re in the area!

I got a hot chocolate here when I visited my bf and customer service was spot on. The guy who made my drink was super nice and when he was about to hand me my drink, he paused and asked me if I wanted whipped cream. When I said yes, he added that and chocolate sauce on top for free. I’m so glad he did because it made my drink look so pretty. It also tasted delicious too.
The décor is so interesting, so many monkeys and random trinkets as well as a gift shop in the back. You can tell the owners out a lot of effort and thought into decorating the place. The gift shop has an old fashioned feel to it, and felt like it could be your grandma’s house.
If I was ever in the area again, I would definitely go back (:

We ordered breakfast online a few weeks ago. The servers in the café don’t seem like they enjoy working there nor do they seem to be able to make people’s orders in an efficient manner. The food was pretty good for what seemed to be a much longer than average preparation time. The Acai Bowl was more ice than anything else and the latte came with very little in the cup. I really enjoy the décor and ambiance of the café but wished it had taken as much care with the food and preparation as they do with the décor.

I like the Monkey House Café and have been coming here often for a few months. The uniqueness is very cool and I’ve never been to another coffee shop like it. Jungle theme, large tree in the middle of the dining area, tastefully designed where Rainforest café meets a coffee shop. It’s a fun theme, yet has an upscale feel to it and a nice place to read or relax.
I’ve enjoyed the green tea latte, mocha lattes and the vanilla steamer is very good. Most of the time I’ll come and just get their regular brewed coffees. There is everything here from breakfast served all day, sandwiches and delicious salads. If you want a beer with your meal, they offer Stella Artois on tap. =) The things that make this place so different is what makes it so great. This has become one of my favorite coffee shops in town. 5 Stars.

After dropping off my dad’s car for service on Beach Blvd, I wanted to kill time and also felt a desire for caffeine. To my luck Monkey House Café was just across the street. As I entered the shop the first thing I noticed was the aroma of freshly brewed coffee beans. The second thing that came in my head was a rock song from the late 80s:
Welcome to the jungle, they got coffee and grains.
They got everything you want, honey they know the names,
They are the people that can find, whatever you may need.
If you got the money, honey, they got your wheat.

The decoration is fantastic! Spot on, absolutely matches their monkey in the jungle theme! A huge tree in the middle of the store? How awesome is that?! They truly don’t spare on the décor even though it means to satisfy space. Nevertheless, it’s still spacious with plenty of seatings and counter height tables (standing desk ftw in case bringing your laptop). Service was efficient and friendly, nothing constructive to add here. I went for the peanut butter cup; the taste of blended espresso, chocolate and peanut butter was soo good. Not too sweet, yet strong in aroma and flavor: almost a protein-​caffeine shake. It was that rich!
Hands down a great place to sip on your cup of coffee and enjoy the ambiance.

Attempting to recover from my hangover i decide to come here with my girlfriend to go study. This place has great customer service, a super super welcoming and homey atmosphere to it, and it’s just a really pretty place. My favorite café so far!

The Monkey House Café is the kind of place where you are always greeted with a smile and everyone knows your name.
I lived on the street behind this café for about 2 years. I frequented here extremely often and still miss this place everyday.
The coffee here is really good! Their sandwiches, potato salad and breakfast options are drool worthy.
I can’t stress enough how amazing this place is. I bought a homeless man out front some soup and a smoothie one day. They saw what I did and comped my lunch. :) This place really has heart and personality.

Atmosphere: Casual.
Im a big fan of the atmosphere, its a cool coffee shop type restaurant, with a cool tree in the middle of the room.
Favorite Item: Chicken Tortilla Soup.
It had a delicious broth with made the soup extremely flavorful.
I was not a big fan of the Cesar salad, it had an excessive amount of dressing and the dressing was extremely over powering. Also the salad did not have any croutons. I did enjoy the ice tea I ordered, it was a regular tea with passion fruit, it was a bit sweet but refreshing considering how hot it has been.
It is more about the atmosphere. There’s a large tree in the center of the café, which made it a cute spot to grab something small to eat.

Had a coupon so I thought I would give this place a try. Wow am I Glad I did. The place is much different inside than the ouside. It has a huge seating area, and I love the tree where you can sit and enjoy your coffee.
The menu offers lots of choices. I got the coconut choco chimp blended coffee. It is very much like a Frappuccino. .blended with ice, topped with whipped cream and it is delicious. I also chose the breakfast bagel. Scrambled eggs and bacon on a toasted onion bagel… was so yummy. I would get it again. There is also a cute gift shop, filled with fun and different items. A great place when you are looking for a birthday or special occasion.
The service was quick and friendly. They also are now serving Lapperts ice cream. I no longer have to wait to go to Hawaii now to get some. I highly recommend this place. I will be back.

Their menu is that if a typical café and then some. Their smoothies sounded good but I was going to the gym after so decided on an Americano as a pre-​workout for the caffeine boost. It was decent, no complaints. Price was reasonable too! Definitely beats Starbucks, so go support your local small businesses!
The big deal here has to be the décor, I felt like I was chilling in a backyard because of the tree in the middle of the shop and the outdoor couch I was relaxing on. They also have wine and other knick knacks for sale.
Service here was good, my drink was finished by the time I came out of the bathroom. The shop itself is clean and the girls were constantly checking in with other customers and wiping down tables.
There is a decent amount of parking, I don’t see it posing a problem even though there are other shops in the plaza as well.
I would definitely come back to try out their food items next time!

I been driving by this place for many years and finally had a chance to conquer it with my Unilocal challenge of trying all cafes (:
The ambiance of this place is so romantic. There’s this huge tree with lit with lights, it reminds me of avatar like the giving tree. Surrounding the tree there are stuff animals.
It’s a good place to study and go for conversations because it is peaceful and not so busy to be disturbed with noise.
The portion siZe of my caramel lattee is great. It has a good price value. I am excited to try more stuff here.
Plus plus the restrooms are so clean.
