Good food at a good price, but their fresh pitas are phenomenal! Careful with the garlic sauce, it’s strong but good. The place could be kept cleaner though, but you’ll be dreaming about their pitas for a while.

My friend brought me to this place a few months ago and ever since I’ve been in love. This is our go-to spot that’s for sure. It’s not only cheap but the ingredients are soo dang fresh. I love all the wonderful flavors in Mediterranean dishes and they perfect it. Thanks so much golden olive! Xoxo sbg

Very, very good! Random stop here for lunch after a surf, had the chicken schwarma plate. I will now put this on my «must» list when in town. I’ve spent over half my adult life travelling all over The Med, trust me, this place is as good as it gets!

The pita bread is fantastic(and the size of your head). We had the chicken shawarma and lamb kabobs, which were both quite good. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the hummus. It was pretty bland. When the pita is this good, you need endless hummus!

Monday morning, I get a notification from my office«Associates may work from home» Yaaay!!! 10AM I start thinking about what I want for lunch … nope, don’t feel like frozen entrees or leftover chicken in the frig … open up Unilocal, search«delivery.» Chinese, Thai, pizza, nope, nope, nope … Oooh, Mediterranean sounds good! Called in and we were good to go! Added an extra item to meet the $ 25 minimum which was fine, the more the yummier! Nasser said 30 min. and was right at my door at that time. So glad he found it without needing additional directions. Everything was warm and tasty! The pita was huge!!! Never seen that before! Loved the tabbouleh, juicy and flavorful, some places make it on the dry side which is no bueno in my book. Only slight improvement would be the filet mignon was overcooked and quite tough and chewy. Other than that, I’m a fan!

Best Middle Eastern /Arabic/Egyptian food I’ve had anywhere near this neighborhood. The prices are excellent and the service was wonderful and warm. We LOVED the fresh bread and garlic spread they give you when you sit down to eat. I mean FRESH hot and comforting flat bread. The lamb I ordered was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Our kibbi was so tasty & moist, good for an appetizer. The baklava for dessert was delicious this one is made with rose water not honey and you’ll love it. Service is pretty quick but this is a small place and there isn’t a ton of parking so call ahead if taking food to go.

Love this place! So glad it’s close to home. I always get their whole chicken. Comes with rice, salad, hummus, homemade pita made fresh, and their amazing garlic paste. Your taste buds will thank you. Staff is friendly. Food is great. Plus I like supporting small businesses. Location is great, it’s right on PCH and Warner. Go check out the sunset after your food is digested

I’ve eaten in so many middle eastern restaurants, but i have to say their fresh pita bread is unique to this place. They have a creamy garlic spread that is also rare to find in other places that can’t quite get the texture right. I’ve only been here a handful of times, and each time, I get the lamb chops which is muy delicioso. All the sides that come with the plate tastes fresh too. This place always wins out for me when my husband and I come here with our friend Master Tiger(they like to go to Secret Spot).

The Golden Olive is a little unassuming. My husband and I ordered up our meals and were surprised when shortly after we ordered a beautiful basket of FRESH… HOMEMADE…pita bread was presented with delicious garlic oil spread. This pita bread was soft, pillowy, and so delicious! Our meals came shortly thereafter. My husband ordered the half chicken with was HUGE. The plate was overflowing the rice pilaf, spicy hummus, salad, and chicken that was moist, well seasoned, and flavorful. I ordered the falafel which was hands down, the best falafel I’ve ever had. I loved how the falafel was presented with toasted sesame seeds on top! We finished out our meal with baklava which was staring us down from the dessert display. Again, hands down, the best baklava we’ve ever had! We thanked the staff for the delicious meal and promised to be back soon. On our way out we noticed an interesting dessert that we’d never seen before and asked about it. The owner INSISTED we sit back down and have a small taste. How very kind. Can’t wait to go back soon. Everything was fresh and I loved all of the VEGETARIAN options which are difficult to find at times.

Well that didnt last long… I regularly visit golden olive, as it had great food and I love supporting small businesses. I also frequently visit Open Sesame and the late«Asha Grill.» The portions here are great, and as many have said their pita was quite impressive. Overall their food WAS exceptional. That was until this last visit, minutes ago. I ordered two beef and chicken shawarma’s… asked for one with rice instead of humus, as I normally do. Instead of having a way to input it into their POS system the owner yells out to the cook. Of course they got my order wrong. I cant stand humus, my wife loves it. The chicken was absolutely disgusting. It was like it had been boiled. Shawarma is obviously cooked on a spit against a broiler, the edges should be slightly burned. This was *NOTHING* like that, it was swollen and if you squeezed it, liquid oozed out. The pita bread was hard, and overall the whole meal was just«blah.» Its unfortunate that such a great small business has lost its focus on quality food in such a short amount of time. One thing I noticed in the last few times I have been there is that the owner was more focused on his family that was hanging out at the restaurant than running a business. Its time to get your business back on track, until then… I’m back to driving to open sesame AND paying a few more bucks. At least then I dont throw half my meal away and wondering if I’m going to have to call in sick to work the next day.

The bread here is amazing. I would come just for that. Not only is it visually impressive, but it’s delicious to boot. I do wish, however, that the garlic sauce was more garlicky. Haha. But I’m a garlic fiend. I got the chicken kabob plate, which was pretty standard, although I didn’t like some sort of herb or spice that was on the salad.

I would go here just for their pizza. In my opinion, the pizza is far better than«a slice of new your pizza» which is right down the road, a company that prides themselves on their pizza. Their food is great. No complaints. Quality is always there and it’s pretty consistent. I did recieve chips instead of rice with my order of a chicken schwaerma plate. I forgive them, it was still great. I have not had a bad experience here, until I do, this will remain a 4 star. Although I was highly considering giving a 5 star… I might just do so after I eat this pizza!

I eat Mediterranean food regularly and Golden Olive is starting to become one of my regulars for lunch. The restaurant is small and unassuming. They serve quality food and the prices are fair. I recommend eating there while the food is at its freshest. I rank this place slightly higher than George’s and easily higher than Open Sesame. FOOD *Freshly made pita — Perfect. Warm, fluffy goodness. *Chicken Shawarma — This was good but nothing special. Although, I’ve never actually found a chicken shawarma that I could rate higher than a 4⁄5. *Shrimp and Filet Mignon kabob plate — The shrimp were cooked perfectly and had that nice, fresh crunch to them. The Filet kabobs were also cooked perfectly. They were tender and flavorful. SERVICE Friendly. Efficient. PARKING Small, shared parking lot next to a Mobile gas station. There aren’t that many parking spots but I’ve never had a problem here.

Well found this place since we were in the hood. Got the #20 chicken & beef plate. They are a bit slow so don’t expect fast food. When it finally came, the high baked pita was great! Lots of food. The garlic chips are the bomb! Great salad dressing. I enjoyed the hummus & chicken was moist. When I went to try the beef, whomp whomp! It was like beef jerky! I took it back & they were nice to make me another plate. Which I waited even longer. They were very nice about it. When I tried the beef again, it looked better but not sure they gave me beef. This time it had that lamb taste which I do not like. I was not very impressed. I’d probably skip the beef & just stick with the chicken. Friendly device overall!

The homemade pita bread has the chewy texture and sure flour aroma. The falafel is crispy and inside is still moisture. For me, their grape leaves are the best so far. It’s favorable, The rice inside is not dry and tasted separately from the leaf. The chicken has the appropriate saltiness. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender. The only drawback is that the rice coming along the entrée is kind of boring.

Omg this place is so yum!!! We eat here once or twice a week. My husband and I always get the chicken kebob plate, a side of hummus and they slice cucumbers for me for dipping as I cannot eat bread. Oh, and make sure you get the garlic paste! We’ve brought several people here and they always love it

Been here twice now and it was good enough for me to come back the second time. The food is pretty good but not spectacular. The main reason why I’m giving three stars is because the service was extremely slow. It took a while to get the pita(which was a personal fave), and the entrees took foreverrrr… Maybe order to go next time?

Tuesday experience Came with my husband after work. It’s a gem. Family operated. The mother daughter duo is impressive. They greet you warmly. It’s a small space but it gets the job done. Go to the counter for to-go orders and have a seat for sit-down. Once you’ve order your server with big warm fluffy pita and that amazing garlic paste. We ordered the 11&21 it was delicious we should of split something cause neither of us finished it. The chicken was moist and tender on a bed of rice. The salad had a crunch to it. The hummus was so good as well. It was wonderful. Come try you won’t be disappointed. Don’t come of your starving & prepare to wait. Friday Night experience Ok. So I have to take back my original rating. Only because from the time we arrived and ordered which was immediately to time we got served. Was ridiculous. Asked for water didn’t get it till the end of the meal, so my husband just brought a water bottle from the car. Waited and waited for the pita and garlic We ordered the kabab plate again along w potatoes and hummus the kabab we devour it still waiting for the rest of our stuff. We finished our kabab and the young lady pointed to us that our potatoes were ready on the counter. Instead of telling the people who were going to order and bring us our food she let it sit there and got cold. We paid and left did eat the potatoes or the hummus. They need more people to handle the phone orders and servers. And get some god damn Ice!
