Edison Community Center

It’s ok. That’s all I have to say.

The park has tennis, basketball, and racquetball courts. It’s nice and quiet (when school is out, at least) and everything is free. The concrete is well maintained and the lines on the courts are perfect. Everything is free and it’s generally nice but it seems like all if the courts are slanted one way or another. The tennis courts are probably the worst for that. Still, it’s a decent park for a free experience.

This community center is located across from Edison High School.
This park has a lot of Basketball, Racket Ball and Tennis courts. This park has lights everywhere and everything is free. I love that its free.
The Tennis courts are usually taken by Tennis Clubs but some nights around 8 pm the courts are open. The Tennis Courts are free and are well lit but the lights only stay on until 10:30 pm.
We mainly go there for tennis practice. The courts are pretty clean and nice.
Only draw back is that it’s not that close to where I live.

This review is just for the softball fields. I play in both a softball league and a kickball league — some of my softball games are played here and all of my kickball games are here.
The best way to get to the softball field is to park on Hamilton. There’s a pathway that will take you directly to the fields. If you park in front where the community center, get ready for a long walk. The softball fields are pretty well maintained I guess. I wish the dugouts were a bit nicer though.
Sometimes my kickball games are scheduled to the grassy area of the softball fields (think outfield area) instead of the dirt part of the field (we typically have 6 games playing at the same time) — it’s OKAY I guess. There are some holes out there, so watch out while you’re running around.
I think they’re doing a bit of construction here though, because there’s tons of fences around and what nots and some of the grass is still a bit turned up towards Hamilton St. Just a note — it’s sorta a bit sketchy looking at night. I usually skate from the fields to the car by myself, and it can be a bit eerie since no one’s around and there aren’t many lights towards that side of the area. All in all, if you’re looking to play softball or kickball, this place is a decent place to go to. They have other facilities as well, such as basketball courts, tennis courts, bbq area, and open fields.

Went here for our annual
BBQ, we had reserved 2 picnic areas, BBQ, and everything was great. The BBQ went off without a hitch. BBQ organizers setup volleyball and even a bumper tent for the kids. Everyone had a great time until someone busted out the water balloons, then it was all screams and rage! Lots of fun happened here. We look forward to next year.
I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because there was constructions due to parking lot renovations that was closest to us. I think the BBQ would have been perfect had the parking lot been finish and the fences and construction was cleaned up. We’ll revisit that next year since it should be completed by then.

i had some good memories after school at this place. playing basketball on friday afternoons, and taking fun relaxed tennis lessons.
as someone said before. ya. 2 of the courts are uneven. it is kind of obvious because all the balls tend to gather at one area on the court.
good point: the center offers different programs such as tennis lessons, dance lessons, and other things for kids.
bad point: those programs take up at least ½ of all the courts be it tennis or basketball.

This is where I go to suck at tennis, be it lobbing balls over the the training wall towards the baseball field or over the fence into olive trees, forcing me to hurl my (friend’s) racket into said trees to get them out. I have yet to hit anyone or damage anything, thankfully.
Like David P. said, the courts aren’t exactly crème de la crème, but hey, they’re free. And there are all sorts of accommodations: a baseball field, basketball courts, solitaire tennis courts, a playground, loads of grass, covered eating areas, etc. etc. All free as far as I know (yes, thank god for freely usable grassland). I’ve been going during non-​peak hours though; I imagine it will get packed pretty quickly otherwise.
Oh yeah, and there’s some kind of 2 hr parking limit during late morning hours, probably to ward off the Edison High kids from across the street who no doubt would whore on free parking given the opportunity. I know I would.
