Dental Implant Center of Orange County

After wasting my time and money consulting with many dentists in Newport Beach and Irvine to fix the mess my long time dentist in Irvine made, I was referred to Dr. Morgan.
In one visit he knew exactly how to fix my teeth and did so in an amazing painless 3 visits. My teeth look beautiful and perfect! I am so blessed that I have found this wonderful dental office! The staff and dental assistants are so caring and provide «gentle denistry». Thank you Dr Morgan, Juan, Karen, Caroline, Maribelle and anyone else I left out! Love my teeth!

This is my first Unilocal review where I was not prompted to write, but felt like they deserved it off of how great my experiences have been. I have always had really bad karma with the dentist. I have a mess of a mouth and dentists have had all kinds of fun trying to get this thing sorted out. After 26 years, The Dental Implant Center has me figured out. I cam in for a root canal that my dentist back home (in Kentucky) told me I needed a year & a half ago. We did the root canal, put a crown on it and I was good to go for that. However, we did some x-​rays and realized that i needed a lot more work than the root canal. After the canal I came back for a full exam and we realized I needed two fillings, deep cleaning and my wisdom teeth pulled (which my doctor back home also said I needed). Throughout the x-​rays everyone was very nice and apologetic when things were harder than they should be. They made sure to explain everything step by step, and Adrianna (I believe is her name) the dental hygienist even put lavender oil on my napkin & turned the lights dim so I was relaxed. Juan (the guy has done my x-​rays most of the time & helped the dentist) was so nice. He always asks how you are and if you need anything. Karen (the office manager) is also great. She works with you and is so sweet. Tonight, after my wisdom teeth were pulled, she saw me waiting outside (I was the last patient of the day & I was waiting on my ride) and she called Juan and they let me wait inside even though it was closing time. It really reminded me of the southern hospitality you don’t often find in Southern California. The girls at the front desk are awesome and really nice. And finally, Dr. Brooks Morgan, he is uh-​maz-​ing! I have always hated dentists until I met Dr. Morgan. He is so gentle with everything he does and always asks if he’s hurting you. If you say yes he lightens up the pressure so it doesn’t hurt as bad. He really has the patient’s best comfort & interest in mind. Tonight, I went in for my two fillings and after talking to Dr. Morgan he convinced me that I should go ahead and get the fillings, deep cleaning & top wisdom teeth removed. I was so nervous I had to ask to sit down because I almost passed out. He explained how much Novocaine shots suck and that he wouldn’t want to give me multiple if we could get it over this evening. When he saw how light headed and pale I got, he laid me down until my nerves subsided and then we got to work. He talked to me the whole time and the whole process was over in 30 minutes! As I write this, I am in a computer lab at UCI and am in little pain. He is the best and I will no doubt come here for all my future dental needs!

I don’t know why my review is not on the first page but I think it’s fair to let people know the truth before they hand their life and money to the dentist! That should be the reason why Unilocal is here!
Regarding my $ 4000 2 failed crowns, they have been bothering me for a year, and there are so many mistakes before、during and after the treatment after consulting with other dentists:
1) The X-​rays were taken before the crowns, but the dentist did not study them carefully — he should have known how many roots were there, but he only did half a root canal!
2) From the X-​rays he should have known the roots were short, but he didn’t give me any warning about short roots wearing a crown. And WHY did he cut it even shorter?
3) Why was I not informed about the price before the work started? They just woke me up to sign the bill at the end, I was really shocked to find out it was more than $ 4000! Aren’t they supposed to tell me before the job?
Since the root canal was half done and since the roots were too short to hold the crown, they were painful and loose for months. I went back to the dentist so many times, but each time he told me everything was fine, or just not to floss those teeth, or give it another month or two; or take some pain killers.
4) Why he could not be honest to tell me there were some mistakes? Compared to the above issues, anesthetizing me 2 or 3 times during the treatment was a small problem, as he anesthetized me then walked away, came back too late to work, and the anesthesia had worn off so he anesthetized me again!
Luckily one day I went back and met the other dentist there. After checking the x-​rays, he right away pointed out the root canal was half done, and the roots were too short. Finally they reschedule me to the another dentist and redid the job. But since the roots were too short to begin with the teeth are still bothering me. Finally they recommended me to another specialist, who said she could redo the job, (for more money) I also checked with other dentists, they said the roots were cut too short to hold the crown, and now I have to get an implant.
Poor me, paid the dentist $ 4000 fix 2 teeth and get a year of pain! Not only they could not chew food because they were too loose, but every time I close my mouth while my upper teeth meet lower, I have pain.
The office manager, Karen, promised she would get back to me, but she did not. I called back again and again, then she said she was busy closing their office in Irvine. I understood and gave them time. Half a year passed, nobody called back. While waiting, the other crown they put in (on the other side) fell off and they then put it in again, but it was also bothering me. I went back they checked and said nothing WRONG. I went to see another dentist and they found a hole in it. I had another dentist do a new crown. Why did Dr Morgan’s office not see a problem? I went back again to show them and they they admitted to the hole, but I have lost all my trust in Dr Morgan. I don’t want them to ever touch my teeth again!

So after getting booted from my parents health/​dental insurance I was on my own to find a dentist. After looking through the list of my in network providers I came across Dental Implant center. Not going to lie what got me in was they were five minutes from my place. That decision was great. Adriana takes great pride in her field And offers great advice on maintaining the health of your teeth. I would recommend Dental Implant Center highly.

I have never had a bad experience here! My implants turned out amazing and the staff is incredibly helpful and informative! Thanks to all the staff that took part In my journey. I will continue to come here for my dental needs

I’ve been coming here since 2008. I’m really happy with the dental services they provided. Dr. Brooks Morgan is the best dentist! He replaced my fillings without giving me any anesthetic shot. It was a painless experience. He definitely has the gentle touch!

This place is a hit or miss. I come In twice a year for a regular cleaning and check up.
Rude staff. Especially Caroline at the front desk. I’ve been trying to get my mom to change the dentist, but she has been busy– as soon as we Research and find a better doctor we will be switching dentists.
My experience a few check-​ups ago for a regular cleaning was terrible. My mom and I had an appointment and we sat in one of the rooms to be seen for over an hour. I never have problems with my teeth and all they had to do was clean it, which takes about 15 minutes. After waiting over an hour to be seen (sitting in a dental chair), they came into the room and told me they’ll need to reschedule… Seriously? They couldn’t tell me that an hour ago.
I AM VERY UPSET by this last appointment. A young lady came in to take x-​Rays, but was having trouble so she called in an older Asian lady to help. Long story short, they were VERY rough and the older lady kept blaming it on my small mouth. First of all, I have NEVER in all my years had a problem getting X-​rays done… Not even the last few times at this office. It’s already a given getting dental x-​Rays are uncomfortable, but you can’t jab the thing further when there are gums in the way? Further, Dr. Bassir ***** didn’t even offer to help… He was walking back and forth waiting for them to finish– which took 30 min!!!
Lastly, they came in telling me I had a copayment of $ 5, which is not bad at all– I don’t mind paying– but I left my wallet at home so I asked them to bill me. On my way out they kept pressing me to pay and told me to pay over the phone when I got home. I got home and my mom told me I don’t have a copay with our insurance… So what are they trying to pull? SHADY BUSINESS.
Sorry for the long review, but it was not Just one bad experience here, nor a «bad» day and I hope you learn my experience.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Dr. Bassir was auto-​corrected to Dr. Nasir, but I’m sure you could tell who I was talking about. Also, still have not heard back from your office– not that I care to, but if you’re going to try and «correct» things via Unilocal,you should have at least tried contacting me personally. I have more of a problem with your staff than your equipment– your current staff does not know how to use it, since in the past I’ve never had a problem getting X-​rays with any of your other technicians.
Clearly your staff is not warm and caring if most of the complaints here state otherwise.
If this is your customer service, I am glad I will no longer be coming to you guys for any services. You have enough time to browse Unilocal,but not actually pick up the phone. Your comments are comical; you don’t actually apologize for anything or on behalf of your staff.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now. Very happy with Dr. Bassir. Professional, informative, and kind. I see a lot of negative reviews, but I haven’t really had major work done on my teeth so I can’t really comment on the other reviews.

This was one of my worst dental experiences ever, just unbelievably bad. First, the dental work is bad — my temporary crown didn’t fit and had me in excruciating pain for almost 2 weeks. My very expensive crown doesn’t fit and has to be completely replaced because there is a gap between the crown and the gum. A filling on the back of my front tooth fell off after only 7 days, and chipped off part of my front tooth! I have a number of smaller cavities that he didn’t even bother to fill, and told me were fine.
Second, the office management is just terrible. I had a crown done, which I knew I needed beforehand. In the meantime, the office manager told me I was going to have to pay $ 1000 out of pocket, since my insurance wouldn’t cover that particular type of crown (I am allergic to some of the components in a standard crown, and even saw an allergist beforehand to confirm my allergy). I paid for the crown with the care credit they signed me up for, then got on the phone to my insurance to beg them to cover part of it, since it was medically necessary I get the more expensive crown.
Well when I spoke with my insurance, they said they didn’t know what I was talking about, OF COURSE they covered that type of crown! Confused, I called the dentist’s office and told them the good news. The office manager said she didn’t know who I spoke with, by my insurance would NOT cover it, and I was wrong. I called my insurance again, and they said they would. We went back and forth like this while I waited for my crown to come in, then finally we did a conference call with an insurance representative, the office manager, and myself, and basically the office manager absolutely refused to accept the insurance company’s payment. The insurance representative said she was shocked, and that she had never encountered anything like that ever before. They literally would not take the money my insurance company was trying to give them.
To top it all off, after I got the crown fitted (and my front tooth chipped), I started going to another dentist. He showed me the x-​ray, and how there was a large gap between the crown and the gum. The only way to save the tooth is to completely replace the crown. So now I have to get ANOTHER crown on the same exact tooth.
I could not be less pleased with my experience at the Dental Implant Center, and there’s no way I would ever set foot in there again.

i have been going to the dental implant center of orange county since it opened. i have have going to dr brooks morgan for years before when he worked for his fathers practice. why you may ask? because he is a great and consistent and very experienced dentist who takes ownership of the needs of his patients. dr brooks is on the frontline of new technologies and innovations in dentistry and medicine and procedures. he is one of the very best there is. i would know i have been to the very best there is like dr grace sun dds who does all the celebrities in los angeles and i have been to the very worst. dr’s who lose drill bits and surgical instruments inside you and then dont own up to their fuckups.
then we get to dr bassir. dr bassir is such an amazing dentist. he is extremely diligent patient professional and has stayed late when i was late in critical personal situations. gone the extra mile so many countless times. he is so damn good at what he does. my teeth look so damn good because of these 2 amazing dentists. dr bassir and dr morgan deserve their place in the dentists hall of fame because of their dedication, service, loyalty and professionalism alone. their dentistry and medical care skills are beyond comparison. they simply care about their patients.
these are mortal men who have to deal with hiring a front office who has to collect money like a collection agency because no one fucking pays their bills. get real people have you ever tried to collect money from an insurance company. i know dr’s looking for another line of work because insurance companies are now not paying their bills and definitely not in a timely manner. it is impossible to run a business with shit insurance companies that do not pay. then to add to that: the economy and people who are cheap, cheap, cheap and do not want to pay their bills on time or at all.
what is your purpose?
to get the best dentistry and care and results or to go to A dentist and not pay them for awhile. go to a dental school clinic or a cheap dentist and see what kind of results you get. when your mouth looks and feels like shit. remember my words: you get what you pay for!!! someone mentioned sandra, she can be tough. lets walk a mile in another indians mocassins for a moment. if you were collecting money to keep the business open and pay the dentists. what would you suggest. tell everyone that they can pay next time? or how about not at all. this is unrealistic. people need to get paid. if you want to get your teeth fixed. bring your money and pay sandra. i bet she will smile at you and offer you a free toothbrush and treat you very well. she has always been professional with me. but make no mistakes about it. she collects the money. that is her j.o.b. if the dr’s did it you would blame them. if i did it you would blame me. what you dont like is paying your bills and the person who collects your money for your bills. you will have no problems if you pay your bills. you will be treated like gold. try it. it worked for me.
The ladies in the front office are very fair, patient and understanding. they are extremely helpful and put up with a lot of bullshit. they also answer to the doctors and the corporation. this is a very positive and healing environment. stay positive, pay your bills and get the best care in town. if you need your ego stroked by the dental front office. try going through airport security and see how well you are treated. fly the unfriendly skies.
try paying your bill upfront when you walk into the office for your appointment. did you ever think about that. then like them on facebook and they were giving a free starbucks gift card. theyll even give you a free toothbrush and toothpaste and floss. thats what they offered me. walk in with a positive attitude and get positive back. they have a great staff of super professionals that are unsung heroes. appreciate that you have found this amazing dental practice. i have had my ups and downs with them. i know this from experience. they want to help you. they appreciate kindness and nice customers too. by the way they have a beautiful office with clean bathrooms and a comfortable waiting room and the ladies are friendly.

haters gonna hate

As I sit here on my Saturday night with an ice pack held under my jaw so as to keep my swelling at bay and fearing yet another painful sleepless night, I angrily feel periled to write this review.
First and foremost… although Dr. Brooks (Implant Center of OC) is advertised as an insurance «primary» care dentist, DO NOT choose them for this purpose. They do not care whatsoever about the basic (physically dangerous if neglected) needs of your issue and the insurance company will be made very aware of this. They care about upselling their implant treatments, thus leaving you in agony if you opt out. That’s right. After receiving an initial round of antibiotics and pain medication to reduce the infection, I called back to request an extraction due to the dire situation and pain that ensued. Well… I was told that they would not extract this very far back molar without having BONE GRAPHING done. Bone graphing is a procedure utilized to rebuild the bone to essentially prepare it for an IMPLANT. Guess what. at this point in time, not only do I not have the extra money to spend on this additional procedure, but I don’t choose to do it right now. I’m in horrific pain. I want the tooth OUT.
So, stubbornly… as of a week ago, they have sent out a REFERRAL to an oral surgeon because I am refusing this additional cosmetic treatment. A simple extraction is getting sent to an oral surgeon! Unbelievable. And the most unbelievable part of it all (even with a second round of pain meds and antibiotics that no longer work), is that I am still sitting here in pain (um. waiting on my referral) and on the verge of going to the emergency room!

I understand you are now trying to do damage control way after the fact by trying to get my comments removed which I reworded to explain my experience and put back up again, but please do not dismiss my concerns by misleading the public. I have complied with every request for clarification that I am finally just now being asked about. Not to mention sent a letter when this first happened. It is not until now that there is finally a response from the Dental Implant Center… I would wait until this is resolved and truthfully enter comments for the reviewers to read.
