Great local shop with a ton of different flavors all with some pretty interesting names. I think at regular price they are pretty pricey for what you get, but check their website or Facebook for their specials/​deals. Tip: get the marina card for their buy 1 get 1 free deal, which can be used for each visit.

I just tried a cupcake yesterday for my birthday and I’m sad to say how disappointed I was. The cake was a little on the dry side with minimal filling in the middle. The frosting… usually my favorite part, was lacking in flavor. I almost thought an ingredient or two was left out. Maybe next time I’ll try a different flavor.

We come here as a family and use the marina card all the time and the lady with the blonde hair was the nicest worker we’ve ever met there (: but the cupcakes are a family favorite and ⁵⁄₅

Interesting flavors of cupcakes, good, but too sugary for my taste, although I’ve only had the chocolate and vanilla. The mocha flavored ones are really good. Between these cupcakes and TomGirl’s on Adams I’d say Bubba Sweets have the best frosting while TomGirls wins for the cake portion.

5 star business, owned by a 5 star family! Priscilla is the very cute head baker and she took time to personally show me around, explaining her vision for the newly acquired business. She plans on branching into the wedding cake business as well and showed me samples of her OUTSTANDING work. Now these are professional wedding cakes! I even got a free cupcake! Definitely check them out if you’ve got a sweet tooth that needs satiating.

I popped in here to get cupcakes for the boat parade. Super friendly service and a wide assortment of festive cupcakes. I picked up two dozen and everyone enjoyed them!

I’m giving this place 5 stars because they make cupcakes exactly the way I like them — with a wide variety of flavors, really decadent and super moist.
The shop is cute and they take care to make the cupcakes look adorable. The lady that was there was also nice and quick.
I’ve been searching for the best cupcake place around me and for my taste this is the best so far.

I’m a huge fan of their cupcakes. Not once have I been in and not enjoyed their food. However, this specific location tends to be closed during their «open hours», so if you need to place an order for a special event, I’d suggest picking them up at their other location :) otherwise, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful whenever I’m there!

Holy Wow. I was blown away by these cupcakes. They were so moist and the right amount of sweet for me. I actually prefer this frosting over competitor shops. I had the «PMS Cure» and it was incredible! Definitely did the job, lol! Will definitely be buying my future bday and special event cupcakes from here.

Save your money for these overpriced cupcakes. They taste old. They are tiny and ²⁄₃ frosting, ¹⁄₃ cake. Costco cupcakes are better!

2 months of feasting has gone by! And man has the year flown past us. Let’s have some quick tips to start:
1. Bubba Sweets is tucked behind the Starbucks in the strip mall, grab a coffee and then grab a cupcake!
2. They have different flavors depending on the day of the week, check their website for more details
3. They also sell ice cream and most importantly, the cupcake sundae!
4. There are mini cupcakes as well as full size cupcakes.
5. There are sometimes daily specials like buying 11 cupcakes getting 1 free, or the ever elusive buy 3 cupcakes get 1 free deal!
6. IMPORTANT: Ask for a stamp card! Collecting 1 stamp for every $ 5 you spend, and redeeming 10 stamps for a cupcake, is still worth it.
My girlfriend, late as always, has been hit by the cupcake craze. As a result, she has terrorized me into taking her to many different cupcake places, but has found that Bubba Sweets is one of her absolute favorites. They won on the show Cupcake Wars a few seasons back and do feature the one that they won with consistently on their menu. However, we have tried several other flavors of cupcakes and were very satisfied with them.
As a red velvet fanatic, my girlfriend is quite the expert on how these cupcakes should taste. Bubba Sweets’ take on Red Velvet features delicate, yet firm frosting and the cake part is often moist and fluffy. These are contradicting terms, but Bubba Sweets has created some magic in them to make the frosting and cake come together in a perfect combination to compliment themselves. As a result, the red velvet is not too sweet and yet sweet enough.
To be very honest, as for myself, I never had PMS before, but I’m sure that if there was ever a PMS cure, Bubba Sweets cupcake named as such does do it. The PMS cure cupcake starts with a star shaped piece of salted caramel, that sits on a bed of frosting infused with sea salt and caramel flavors, finished with an incredibly moist cake. Now, you might have said to me, this sounds exactly like the red velvet cupcake except without sea salt and with caramel flavored frosting. This is where you are wrong. There is something about this cupcake where it is ALWAYS moist, so moist that my girlfriend keeps arguing with me that it defies logic and that someone must be injecting something into the cake part to make it more moist. Furthermore, the frosting is always fulfilling, and nearing the edge of being too sweet, but not tipping us over that edge. If there is a culinary god, it is in that cupcake.
This past weekend, we tried an apple pie like cupcake with apple filling on top of a cinnamon infused frosting, and white cake. At first I was skeptical because I figured we were just getting a pie in a cupcake, but we were once again surprised by the delicate nature of the cupcake itself as well as the frosting. The deep cinnamon flavor paired perfectly as it is supposed to with the apple filling and the cake was as always moist.
We haven’t tried their ice cream selections because usually cupcakes are more than enough for us. The cupcakes are $ 3 each and Bubba Sweets does have a stamp card where they give you a stamp for every $ 5 you spend, and after 10 stamps you get a free cupcake. Sometimes they leave a sign out that signifies a daily deal of some sort. Usually it’s a buy 11 get 1 free deal, but once in a blue moon they will have a buy 3, get 1 free deal too.
You might wonder then, given this glowing review why this place hasn’t gotten 5 stars. Sometimes the cake part of the cupcake is very inconsistent and is more dry than usual. Is this an indication that maybe their cupcakes aren’t as fresh and baked day of? Maybe, but as a result, the cupcake isn’t as enjoyable even when paired with their amazing frosting. Otherwise, Bubba Sweets is an excellent choice for a birthday or a surprise occasion or even just plain dessert after a long date!

Moist, colorful, tasty, and very very sweet cakes! It melts in your mouth, but prepare your mouth for sweetness town because they are delectably crazy in terms of flavors. You got almond joy, and salted caramel and the likes, they are very very good. With a variety of flavors, you can’t go wrong here, they will satisfy your SWEET TOOTH! GUARANTEED!
PRICE: its like $ 5 a cupcake, they are decently sized I would say it takes about 6 bites to properly finish one. They are all uniquely decorated too!
GLUTEN FREE?
Yup they got em, I believe there is a chocolate cupcake and a few other flavors (not as many variety). I would get that one and it is very good for GLUTEN FREE. It melts in your mouth and it is just as moist as the regular one I have tried them both. They are the same price too as the regular gluten one, and sometimes they have discounts.

We were in SoCal, going to Huntington Beach, and we saw this place, it was August 6^th in the afternoon (I’m stating the date because I didn’t get names of who were working at the time). My family and I were so excited to try this place out since they were on the food network. Inside is super pretty and their display of their cupcakes looked amazing. The people that were working were friendly and they helped us right away since we were the only ones inside and we told them that it was our first time. One of the workers, which was a male worker, had a really good conversation with my bf and his cousins the whole time we were in there.
We bought a dozen since there were a lot of us heading to Huntington Beach, I mean we pretty much tasted all of their flavors. The presentation of the cupcakes were perfect and I mean they are on the sweeter side but I thought they were good, different, but good. I love cupcakes that are moist and these sure were. I also love what they name the cupcakes too! This critique is small but I just wanted to point out that I don’t like the boxes they put them in because it was a pain trying to take them out without messing up the décor/​icing on top and getting it all over your fingers.
The reason I am also docking them stars is the lady who was helping us at the cash register was giving us a hard time when we were purchasing the cupcakes. So when you check into Unilocal,you get a free cake pop with your purchase. We wanted to do 2 separate transactions because my aunt also wanted to get a cake pop. Since we had 2 boxes we thought it would work out well but I think the lady didn’t know what she was doing. First she said it was ok to split the payments but we can still use the same card but at the END of the transaction, she said we couldn’t do that next time? It was irritating and confusing. We came in there excited and left frustrated. Oh well. The cake pop was strawberry with coconuts, it was gross.

So far my favorite flavors are bacon teriyaki butter cream, mango cream cheese, and pineapple. The rest looks so adorable as well, especially the Starbucks cupcake. I prefer getting a box of 6 minis so I can try all my favorite flavors without feeling guilty.
They also have many good deals throughout the week. And the lady there is super helpful.

Oh god, these cupcakes are almost as bad as sprinkles cupcakes. My boyfriend surprised me with these cupcakes for our monthiversary and I was so excited to try them because I love cupcakes. Usually I would write down all the different flavors I ate and explain how each one tasted, but I’m not going to waste my time with these cupcakes…
All of their cupcakes tasted 1 – 2 days old and they weren’t fresh or moist. The cake part was already hard the same day my boyfriend bought them. And in the next day or two, the cake was already rock solid.
Now on to the frosting. All the frostings were too frothy for me. I like thick frosting that have a lot of texture to it. This just tasted like whipped cream. It was pretty comparable to the cupcakes you get from Ralph’s or albertsons. Except at least those places have moist cupcakes.
Presentation of cupcakes looked really good, that’s why I gave them 2 stars. Looks can be deceiving though…

I have given this place multiple chances mostly because of the convenient location. Unfortunately I have always had a bad experience and most likely won’t be back.
Cupcakes: I’ve tried many different flavors of cupcakes and while they have cute names and such, the flavor is always disappointing or too overwhelming. I have yet to find a cupcake that I didn’t throw out. Honestly I can make a better cupcake with cake mix from the grocery store.
Service: There’s one worker in particular (blonde, older women, has worked there for years) who is always rude, snobby, and acts like she hates her job. Customer service is huge to me and bad customer service alone is enough to make me stop coming here.
The cupcakes are pricey, with that being said, you should go somewhere that values your business and treats you with some decency. (Caseys, sprinkles etc) Hopefully someone from management reads this so they can work on improving how to treat a customer.

I’ve tried about six different flavors so far and most of it is only okay. I think my problem with these cupcakes is that they are too sweet. My favorite so far is the Katy Perry. A close second is the cake pops. They’re perfect and moist. A decent one is the Mango Cheesecake but I could honestly skip out on it.
The interior is visually very loud and celebratory, and therefore, very inviting, which might explain why I keep coming back to try other flavors. Otherwise, I would stick to the Katy Perry and cake pops.

Definitely my favorite spot for a cupcake! My fave is the PMS, sooooo bomb! Every one of there cakes that I’ve tried, I’ve loved. The bacon one is really good too along with the marilyn monroe. They’re a little far for me, but worth the drive!

The store itself is super cute and the staff was very friendly. I loved how they displayed their cupcakes, but I wished the names had details of what kind of cupcake they were.
Stopped by and picked up two cupcakes to try, the smores and the banana split. I didn’t really like the smores. I felt like it needed graham crackers and soft creamy marshmallow filling. Their marshmallow filing was light and airy but I was looking for a soft creamy kind. I liked their banana split, which was a banana cake with a cherry filing (I assume) and chocolate frosting with a pink whipped cream on top.

My sister surprised me with a dozen cupcakes from here and boy am I thankful!
They were very delicious and moist cupcakes but what I liked about them the most was that their flavors were soo unique! Unlike most cupcake bakeries, Bubba Sweets went out of their way to make their cupcakes extra gourmet. Not only are their decorations more creative than other places, but their cupcakes are too. What I mean is that if it’s a cookie and cream frosting, the cupcake itself will probably have bits of cookies and cream inside of the cupcake! This is seriously my go-​to spot for cupcakes now!
TIP: Check for their Unilocal check-​in specials. You might get something for free for checking in :)
TIP #2: If you love red velvet as much as I do, you HAVE to try the red velvet cheesecake!!!
