I have worked with Arte of Makeup since 2012. Cindy and her team are responsible for the makeup on the fashion show models at Premier Bridal Shows’ wedding expos. With 14 – 16 upscale wedding expos in the Southern California market each year, Arte of Makeup has attended each event without fail since 2012. Arte of Makeup’s professionalism and reliability are key to the success of the fashion show production. Cindy and her team work well under pressure and always deliver flawless makeup which is seen not only in the fashion show but also in the professional photography. Arte of Makeup is extremely knowledgeable about their product and makeup techniques. Over the years, we have only gotten the best of feedback about their service. Arte of Makeup is courteous, hardworking, accommodating and a lot of fun to work with!

I really dont understand how anyone can give cindy a bad review. Shes genuine, talented, and loves to make people feel beautiful. Cindy made me feel beautiful. I used to get dressed up all the time until i got into a relationship and got too comfortable. Shes easy to talk too & showed me easy and natural ways to look different (i like the natural look). feeling beautiful again means a lot. And now that i feel beautiful and comfortable in my skin, im just happier. and i cant wait to book her for my winter wedding.

I don’t like giving bad reviews and if I can help it, I would just let it go. With that said, it took me a lot of thinking and consideration before rating this vendor as a wedding makeup artist for July 27, 2013.
I met Cindy at a bridal expo. She had a whole team with her doing makeup and she was very fast at doing the model’s makeup.
Trial day: on the day of the appointed trial, my bm and I made an effort to come on time because I have to be ready for pre-​wedding photo shoot at a certain time. I made very clear of that in correspondence with her via email. upon arrival I was disappointed that she wasn’t there. After 15 minutes Of waiting, I called her and she apologized she got stuck in traffic from San Diego. (Thanks for calling to let me know!) if she had told me earlier, i would’ve gone to the hair guy (Ryan first) I decided to wait. Half an hour later, she began working. The trial session lasted 1.5 hr for just my makeup. The foundation was good quality and lasted the whole day. She provided touched up powder and lip gloss. Then we drove across town to her hair partner, and to my disappointment, my eyes already had creased.
Wedding day: Originally I had booked her for 4Bms, 2 Moms and me so she said she will have help but when the two moms decided there isn’t enough time and it was 4 bms and I, she was adamant and said she could do by herself. I was horrified but tried to keep my cool because it was days before the wedding. She came on time (thank God!) but spent over the time she said she could do for each person. Plus she forgot to factor in her cleaning/​prepping time. She said she wanted to do me last to fully focused on me but ending up having no time for me. (I was late 45 min, didn’t get any pictures w my family). Then she messed up and yelled at me for opening my eyes when she was the one who told me to open my eyes. She lost her cool. On top of that, she failed to mention beforehand that the hair guy would come much later than her. I told her to make my eyes brighter but somehow she translated that to make my face darker. I told her to make lighter but she insisted it looked fine. She did my makeup within 30min after she messed up and told me to go wash off my face. She quickly packed up her things, asked for the check and left before her partner finished my hair. It was the beginning of the biggest day of my life and she made me felt like screaming. Besides that, I had to tell her to provide the touch up stuff she said would be included. Mind after all this, I gave her a decent tip plus breakfast.
Pros: quality of makeup, good hygiene
Cons: lack of professionalism, lack of courtesy/​manners, not up front with you, don’t care about making your day special, in it for the money and leave you hanging.
Aftermath: I’ve gotten plenty of compliments from people asking about the vendors I had for wedding. NOT a single person asked for makeup/​hair. Looking at the wedding photos, I feel like cringing because I looked horrible. Ontop of that, the bms look good— same look that I had at trial session.

I found this place while searching online for a local make up shop and I cannot tell you how pleased I am. The owner introduced me to makeup I have never even heard of before and the quality of her products blew my mind. She did my makeup in order to find the right shades. She also didnt try to get me to buy things I didnt need, which I greatly appreciate. She is extremely honest, talented, professional and you cannot beat her prices. I am so happy to have found such an amazing little shoppe!

If you want professional makeup done definitely go to Cindy. She’s approachable and her engaging personality compliments her expertise in working with clients and other professionals in the makeup industry. I was blessed enough to have my makeup done by Cindy and I absolutely loved the results. I’m a really simple person and she made me feel truly beautiful in my own skin. I love how Arte of makeup is a one stop shop, you can get your makeup done and buy makeup at the same time. I live in Long Beach Ca and I make my drive to her shop for all my makeup essentials. Her prices are very reasonable and she carries the best line makeup in my opinion. If you just give Cindy a chance she’ll make you walk out strutting your stuff and feeling fabulous.

I booked Cindy for my wedding recently and I couldn’t have been happier with her service. It was a hectic day and we were on a time restraint but Cindy remained calm, patient and poised throughout the whole ordeal. My make-​up was absolutely gorgeous. She made me look and feel like a princess. Cindy had a way of enhancing your natural beauty. She has such a passion for make-​up and would not except anything short of perfection. I just wish I lived closer so I can utilize her on a regular basis but she will definitely be the first person I would call for special events. Thanks, Cindy for making my special day so memorable.

I was fortunate to have my makeup done by Cindy for modeling. She is AMAZING! She has such passion and is such a perfectionist. She will have you coming out feeling like the SEXIEST girl in the world! (if you live in the area, and plan to go out for like your birthday or something big, have her do your makeup– you will definitely turn heads!)
The shop itself is to DIE for! I live in the San Fernando Valley, but I drive to her shop to take care of all my makeup needs. The prices are awesome, and the lines she carry are the cream of the crop (like MAC but better). When it comes to finding what you need, CIndy is extremely knowledgeable and you WILL walk out of there knowing you got exactly what you need to look fabulous!
A must-​visit for the diva who wants to look good (and not pay too much) and get her girly-​girl on! (because who doesn’t love good makeup!!!)
