Lukewarm, overpriced, underwhelmed. Middle of the week lunch at 2pm. All right in a pinch, but won’t be running back here any time soon. First and probably last time. (Watched the gal at the counter wipe her nose with a napkin and then grab stuff from the salsa bar for her own lunch, eat behind the counter, in that sequence. Praying I don’t get food poisoning from my lukewarm overpriced lunch.) Also, posted menu price and charged price were vastly different.

I had two shredded beef tacos. Very little meat, a ton of lettuce and oil. Not good at all. Taco sauce was watered down and flavorless. Good chips on the side but the salsa was really bad. Girl working the window was nice. Won’t be going back. I recommend Las Barcas instead.

Stopped for lunch before shopping. Tried the horchata and 6 taco special. Which is only taqueiros with guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and cheese. They were very tasteless and fried super hard. I could only eat one. They were that bad. The horchata was very good. The prices were decent. But won’t get that special ever again

Well, this place does get one star because I’m pretty sure the food won’t kill us, but I’m not positive. We ordered cheese enchiladas and asada tacos. Seriously, how can you mess those up? First of all, the food was barely warm, and they used possibly the worst enchilada sauce I have ever had. The meat in the asada tacos was almost without flavor, and it wasn’t cheap!!! On the bright side, the young men behind the counter were nice and the soft drinks were good. But never again!!!

Alberto’s saved my life. Also, Alberto’s pleased my special lady friend in her tummy piece. Go here. Make happy. #steakneggforever

Always go inside, you are robbing yourself if you do the drive thru. Eat nachos and veggies while you wait, and their green sauce reason enough to eat there.

ONTHEPLUSSIDE: A+ exceptional customer service from Alejandra L. Give this young lady a raise! Tried for the first time their $ 5.49 Jumbo Taco Salad with shredded chicken and their $ 3.76(3) taquito with guacamole and shredded cheese(prices not including tax). Great to find a place open for business 24 hours and with a drive-thru. ONTHEOTHERSIDE: Not until I was home did I realize I was doubled charged on their(3) taquito with guacamole and shredded cheese. I am confident this will be resolved the next time I return to this location. On the second request approximately 40 minutes after advising Albert taking over the next shift was there a quick response to adding toilet paper to the co-ed locked bathroom located outside in the back of the building.

This spot is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is amazingly delicious, very reasonably priced, and always top-notch service. They are extremely prompt on getting you your order and are always friendly. My personal favorite: asada tacos. Other noteworthy dishes: breakfast burrito, California burrito, carnitas tacos, and the fish tacos.

Worst Alberto’s around! They don’t have their signature hot sauce you can get in Tustin, Santa Ana, Fountain Valley… pretty much everywhere else. Guacamole is like green paste instead of actual avacado, onion, and tomato like all the other locations. Meh. I’ll shoot over to Brookhurst and Slater and bypass this location any day.

I really don’t think I could love anything more than albertos, best rice and beans, bean and cheese burritos and the best chips I have ever had in my life

The best thing on the menu in my opinion is the carne fries. The best. I’ve tried basically everything and it’s always good, fast service and good portions. They have a convent drive thru and it’s authentic Mexican food.

I’ve loved albertos for as long as I can remember…(used to go to the corona and riverside locations years ago)… I still like it, but I’m just not in love with it anymore. My «go-to» is a carne asada burrito, add cheese n sour cream, but it just doesn’t taste like I remember it tasting. However, I will continue to come here when I get that craving, until I can friend something explosive!

This Alberto’s is very disappointing. I do not like most things on the menu. I go through the drive thru every time and the cashiers are always courteous and prompt. I have finally figured out that there are only two items I like, the cheese enchilada and shredded beef taco — they are both excellent and the only things I ever order, now. I have order the following at least four times each and was disappointed every time: taquitos with guacamole, chicken tacos, beef enchilada, and beans and rice. 50% of the time the taquitos are overcooked and left in the fryer too long, one time they were undercooked and inedible. The guacamole clearly has no avocado in it, it must be made from some powdered mix. I will never order the chicken again, it tastes like it was boiled to the point of a rubbery consistency. The beans and rice are simply tasteless. Why would I ever go back so many times? They are cheap. They are fast. The shredded beef tacos are ten times better Taco Bell or Del Taco. There are simply too few choices for drive through Mexican food in south Huntington Beach.

I was scared to eat my chicken taco, anyone see why? Haha… Gross all my friends said the same thing. Not trying to get food poisoning of salmonella. I also ordered an enchilada and everything about it was ‘cold’ like it was a mess up and he just threw it in well I guess that’s why you shouldn’t go out to eat late at night …

Yes. Just yes. This is a once a year type place for us but when I go. We go all out! The food is always incredible. No complaints but sometimes they literally just throw us the food… Like literally throw the bag at us… Not even kidding… It really happens… Like more than once… Maybe three times… Seriously. But hey what do you expect. Get in get out. Get yo grub on.

Horrible… cold steak looked like it was cooked the day before. 8 bucks for a half order super nachos. The guacamole was of something un avocado… It was this place or taco bell down the street, and regretting not going to the bell. Looked like an authentic mexican joint but if you’re in the area I suggest visiting another mexican restaurant and not tolerate half assed food.

Between 3 and 3.5 stars. Like most people who have been around oc for a while, I’ve been going to different Albertos forever. There have been biz feuds over the name Alberto’s so it has led to all different variants you can think of: Filiberto’s, Albertitos, Alejandro’s. Alejandro’s on 19th is my all time favorite for this specific genre of authentic drive thru mexican. I’ll review and expand on Alejandro’s in the near future. As for this particular place, I must say that it is overly priced compared to most of its brethren. It is also hit or miss with one of the most ordered item at all these places: carne asada burritos. Depending on the piece of meat in the burrito, it can be phenomenal or somewhat inedible for me. I personally think the 3 rolled tacos w cheese and guac don’t taste very good here. This is maybe the signature dish for these places so it is disappointing that it doesn’t stand out here — or at most others. There is good news though. They have some of the best tasting sopes in the OC. This is a hidden secret. It is a newer item and is rarely ordered by people. Get the carnitas sopes. They come with 3 huge sopes that will fill just about any appetite and be two meals for some. It is the best deal on the menu along with the breakfast burritos, which are excellent. All in all, I will frequent this place in the years to come as long as they don’t keep jacking up the prices and you should too!

Alberto’s gets a passionate Two-thumbs down. After just eating at Roberto’s Taco Shop in Carlsbad mere hours ago, Alberto’s had some big shoes to fill. I myself ordered the California burrito and beef taco. The burrito was a complete disappointment — no guac, chewy carne, and soggy fries. The taco was even worse — tortilla fried to a crisp and very greasy. Price is standard Mexican fare, but if you’re in Huntington Beach there’s much better alternatives: Taco Jerez or Allertos. Because it’s open 24⁄7 Alberto’s sounds like a prime drunchies spot, but alas I was sober at 6pm. Pass if you’re in the mood for good Mexican food, I wish I had. Yo quiero Taco Bell!
