99 Cent Only Store

You need to look at the expiration dates on the snack packs. They mixed a lot of out-​of-​date items with good ones (I would guess about 50% were bad). The Dan.D.Pak Asian mix snack was dated 12/​12/​2014 and I unknowingly bought it in August, 2015, almost a year over the expiration date!
I went to the store to returned the item (just to proof a point because it happened just more than a couple of times.) But the casher demanded a receipt from me. Obviously for a few dollar cash purchase, I did not keep any receipt.
I had to show the store manager all their Dan.D.Pak Asian mix on the shelf still were dated 12/​12/​2014. The store manager obviously knew what was going on and tried to run away form me while barking to the casher to return my dollar. May be because I was raising a stink at the check out full of customers.
Just to prove to myself that I was on to something, I then grabbed any candy bar (this case it was Big Hulk) and it had expired in March, 2015, nearly 6 month ago!
I have bought other snack item at this 99-​only Stores and had to threw them out because they tasted staled and empty bags showed they were out of dates. But this time I have had it and wanted to prove a point.
Selling out-​of-​date snacks should be illegal and 99-​only Store should know it. This store is just across the street from Huntington Beach Marina HS. How many kids are buying these out-​of date snacks without knowing it?

I love this 99 cent store. I’m in here like every weekend when I have a sweet tooth. My dark chocolate sea salt bar is heaven. :)

I live very close to here and I found almost everything I need. If you want to buy something You should check here in the first place

If you are not absolutely sure you are going to keep the items your are buying, then DON“T BUT IT! Especially, SEASONAL ITEMS. They should post signs to let you know. They do have 1-​sign at the check stand behind the register. You get to see it when you try to return something!!! It is a 99 cent store! I’ll spend the extra at a store that cares about it’s customers!

I go to this place way too often! They have so many amazing deals it is hard to stop though. A lot of 99c stores tend to be unorganized with workers that don’t care. Not this store! I can usually find what I am looking for pretty quick and their workers are always friendly and helpful. I have bought a lot of my spices that I use for cooking here… only 99 cents. If you buy your spices in the supermarket you can pay up to 7.00 for some of the same stuff. Definatly check this place out before spending more than you have to.

Great 99 cent store. Clean, organized & employees are helpful & pleasant. I buy my ibuprofen, cat litter, cat treats & cat toys here. Recently they’ve been carrying a name brand probiotic, so I picked up a 6 month supply. The exp date on pkg is September 2013, so I believe that’s why they have them for sale here. Nature Made probiotics cost around $ 10-​$ 15 a bottle at retail stores, so I just saved a bundle. Also picked up some outdoor citronella candles called «Skeeter Beeter» to ward off those pesky critters when we’re having outdoor BBQ’s. Like this store better than the one down on Beach Blvd in HB.

This location is great. It’s a good place for party stuff, seasonal things, gift bags (Hallmark brand!), some small brand name toys, some produce (but you got to know how to select the fresh stuff!) Nu-​pore make-​up remover wipes (a staple for me). Parking is a bit rugged and rough though with pool-​sized potholes.

Before going anywhere else for something you need. Hit up the 99 cent spot!
They seriously have all your basic kitchen, bathroom and holiday decorating and gifting needs… Guaranteed you’ll walk out with a few extra items you didn’t think you needed, and didn’t realize they would have. But you just can’t pass it up for the price.
Open till 9pm. Get yo dollars!

I wouldn’t say any 99 cent store is fantastic. but this is my favorite location. It doesn’t have that foil on the trailer windows to keep the hot desert sun out ghetto feeling and the employees are generally helpful. Also, FYI, great place to pick up fresh produce.

Run in, run out, and get a whole cart load of stuff for like $ 30!
I love that I can come in here and buy stickers, pencils, crayons, coloring books, easy-​reader books, and work books for my little one.
I also buy gift bags and tissue paper, hair bands, and little treats for my little one’s lunch each time I stop in.
Some things are not a good deal, but some things are a GREAT deal (ie — I wouldn’t buy hair bands at Target because they are like $ 5 a package, but a similar package here (same brand) are, of course, only 99 cents). They sell food, but I wouldn’t buy anything that didn’t come into the store sealed and I have seen rotting produce here before.
The people that work here are all nice and friendly and the check out is usually pretty fast and efficient. The store is clean, neat, and mostly put together and well organized… where things are make sense. There are always people working on the floor — stocking shelves and straightening up — and if you need help, they are always willing to show you where things are.
I stop by all the time just to pick up those things that I wouldn’t buy anywhere else…

As far as $ 1 stores goes, this one is one of the nicer ones. It is clean and fairly organized. Great for some cheap crap when I don’t need fancy name brands.

What can’t you find here? I think everyone loves a good deal, and would like to save $$ wherever they can, but I don’t recommend buying condoms or a pregnancy test here.
Jokes aside, I think its quite amazing how much you can find here for 99c. I also like coming here for the laughs because you literally never know what strange item you will find, like imitation Cheetos named MUCHO CHEESE. Here is a small list of the most useful things I buy here, rather than at Target to save $$:
— Brand name hand soap, and lotion
— Party Supplies
— Kitchen supplies: Cutlery, foil, plastic wrap, plastic containers
— Candy. They sell Nerd Rope– 2 for 99c! I always walk out with at least 6. Yep. 6.
— Colgate toothbrushes (a whole spinning 6 ft display of them, I might add)
— Paper towels. Paper towels that are tougher than the Brawny Man towels. How do I know? Because they are «SO TUFF» paper towels.
— Bottles of Tapatio for 69 cents! Most Important!
I noticed they even recently added a Blockbuster movie box, which is a nice addition. I give 4 stars because it’s quite cramped, kind of dirty, and sometimes you run into some REALLY questionable people there, and there is always someone begging for money outside. One time I saw this couple trying to cut in front of everyone to buy one bottle of soda, and the husband looked like something you found out of sewer, with extremely bloodshot eyes. He looked like he was lost as well. Drugs? It was so disturbing.
99c store: come here for the deals, the laughs and sometimes, strange people.

I love this store. It is clean, the checkers are decent and the merchandise is full. You just need to take the time to look at the expiration dates on the food products and the ingredients. Usually not very healthy but I bought a bag of granny smith apples today for 99 cents. I also bought reading glasses, and a bunch of Christmas wrap. There is no reason to pay more for items if you can find it here.

Conversations can be interesting at the 99cent store and that is the best reason to come here.
