Awesome day Zip-​lining in Hunter Mountain… The Sky Rider tour is awesome… very experience and professional guides… can’t wait to do it again!!!

There are few activities that my siblings and I agree are worth every penny. This was definitely one of them, largely thanks to the very funny, energetic and not at all bad to look at zipline guides (Eric, Marty and Dale), who made sure we were safe and having a blast at all times.
I’m not the extreme sports fan myself, but my brothers and sister are, and we found the Skyrider experience had just the right amount of adrenaline rush, scenic views and fooling around to please all of us and anyone else looking for a fantastic family fun time. Even the nervous types ;)

So much fun! Each zip DOES NOT get easier with experience! I was nervous for my life at every single zip! Definitely for those who like the adrenaline rush! Amazing views zipping 650 feet off the ground Make sure you can handle the height and speed before you go; 1 person in my party got too scared and backed out from the first, highest zip. No refund! Zip guides were super nice and encouraged everyone throughout the tour.

It was awesome. The zipline experience was great. The weather helped a lot. The view amazing. The location is great too and the NY Zipline is a organized organization. They have amazing staff. The guides were amazingly good. Thanks for 3 hour adventure. We love it and I hope to come back and do again. Super recommend it!

Went and did the skyrider today with my boyfriend for my birthday. It was absolutely amazing. The thrill, scenery and staff were all a plus. The staff was knowledgable, patient and fun with everyone in our group. Will definitely be back to do it again.

I went zipping yesterday with my family (total of 9), we had an amazing time! Our tour guides Sam & Adriana were informative, hilarious, and extremely clear in giving directions. Also when a few of the ladies (not me haha) froze up, they helped calm the girls down and zip away! it’s definitely worth every dollar and if you go in a big group (like ours) they give you a discount. It takes about 3 hours, and after it was all done, we were tired but ecstatic we experienced zipping through the mountains. Memorable and a must do. *Ladies wear a sports bra if you want to take pictures and videos — I kept my phone in there at all times and it was safe!*

Wow, I just got off the mountain and had such a great experience that I couldn’t wait to write this review. I was nervous at first, but the equipment is so well maintained and my tour guides were so friendly that it was impossible to feel endangered at all. Jonny, Dabo, and Nick were all knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious. They went above and beyond and even showed us some edible berry bushes on the way down (thimbleberries are delicious, by the way). I went with my whole family including my 12 year old sister and we loved it. The views were incredible, the lodge was clean, and the zip lines were SO much fun. Don’t hesitate, I promise you have nothing to lose and you won’t be scared. Just go for it!

Dining Partner and I signed up for the Skyrider zipline tour on a Saturday afternoon at 1pm. After watching quite a few YouTube videos of the NY Zipline Adventures prior to our trip, Dining Partner sufficiently freaked himself out. I’ve been ziplining once before at Spring Mountain in PA, but it was child’s play compared to this course. The Skyrider tour is the tallest, fastest, longest zipline in North America. The $ 129 price tag may seem high, but for a little over 4 hours of fun I can tell you it is worth it.
Our tour group of 12 started off with our harness and helmet fitting at 1pm. We reached the top of the mountain on the ski lift roughly 45 minutes later for our safety briefing. Our guides Andrew, Dale, and Christian were all encouraging and fun. They were very patient with those such as Dining Partner who were terrified of zipping. On the first line (the longest, highest one) everyone on our tour got stuck in the middle of the line. They say this can sometimes happen depending on the weather and wind. Andrew and Dale shimmied out after each ride, grabbed us, and pulled us to the opposite side. On the other four lines everyone was able to make it to the ending point. In total, there were 5 ziplines and a foot bridge and we finished the course around 5pm. Don’t forget to bring cash to tip your tour guides at the end, they’ll remind you several times to do so.
A few things before we part: you can zip with a small backpack. You can rent go-​pro cameras, but unless you’re going to watch the footage a lot you’re better off taking photos. You’ll zip rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Listen to all of the instructions and you’ll be safe.

The zipline tour was awesome. Five long ziplines high above the treeline provided both an adrenaline rush and a great view of the mountain. Our guides Jesse, Dale, and Joe were a lot of fun to hang out with while also being very professional and making sure we all understood the techniques and safety precautions in place. I would definitely bring another group on the tour with them.

I’ve gone on the sky rider tour 3 times and I can’t wait until the next time I will get to go again. it’s about a 2 hour drive for me and it is worth the trip! The staff is professional and very fun. I’ve gone with a group two times and each time the guides were amazing. On the most recent tour I had two members of the party who were running late and the guides were very patient and understanding. They said it would not be a problem. This helped me a great deal as I’m the type of person that likes to shows up early. During the tour itself the guides were always very encouraging and positive. I can’t wait to go back to try the other tours!

This was the best experience ever! This was my first time zipping and by far exceeded my expectations! Several people in our group had significant height fears and our guides relieved all of them and after the first of our five lines, everyone was smiles! We chose the Sky Rider tour and feel it was definitely worth the extra money!

This is an absolute can’t-miss in the Northern Catskills. We did the «Mid-​Mountain» Tour, which was a wise choice since we’d never been ziplining before. From start to finish, the experience was terrific. Our two instructors were extremely kind, patient, funny, and knowledgable.
The Mid-​Mountain Tour doesn’t use the Hunter Mountain Chairlift; you hike about 15 minutes up the mountain, and then take a series of 6 ziplines, of increasing speed and distance, back down the mountain.
One other note: the folks at this place take safety very, very seriously. You’re always strapped into some kind of safety line or permanent structure, even when you aren’t ziplining. That was reassuring for novices.

Had an awesome experience Zip-​lining for the time first thing Saturday morning at Hunter Mountain. We arrived on time and walked rite in to get fitted into our harnesses and helmets. Our two tour guides were pretty awesome and really helped me feel comfortable with the entire experience.
They briefed us on all safety precautions and made sure we knew what we were getting ourselves into. I’m pretty sure their names were Casey and Sal but don’t quote me on that.
Once we were done with all of that we took a hike up the mountain to our first zip line. We did the mid mountain course that was about 60 ft in the air and I was a bit terrified at the first jump. I stalled for a few mins bullshitting with the instructor trying to come up with anything to prolong this leap to my death but eventually I just said OK lets do this. When you step off the platform and actually relax its pretty freeing. One thing that I must say is that the instructors make you feel extremely safe at all times. No matter what you are doing they make sure that you are always strapped either to the zip or the tree or safety cable. It’s really great to see how focused they are on you safety even tho the whole process is a bit time consuming.
My favorite zip was the last one because it was the longest out of the 6 and it had a different landing platform that you got to repel down afterwards that was really cool. I felt like a Russian spy repelling down the side of a building and it was awesome!
Over all there are 6 zip lines included in our tour and I felt for $ 90 there should of been a bit more but it was about a 2 hour tour. Minus one star for being a little pricey I would def go back again to try the Sky Rider Tour.

I thought $ 129(Weekday $ 119) was expensive at first, but after I experienced this tour, I thought it may worth paying this amount.
The tour stars from wearing belts and a helmet at the office/​shop area. You can rent Gopro Camera to film your experience for about $ 49 including 8GB memory card. The camera is attached to your helmet, so you don’t need to hold it.
Then you will ride on a chair-​lift. Just riding a chair is already fun. I enjoyed the mountainous view and pretty flowers. I was daydreaming that I was in Switzerland for a moment.
On the top of mountain, instructors showed us the right postures during zip-​lining. Then, I was shocked how high the first zip-​lining point was. Trees are far below. «Three, Two, One, zip away!!!» I was a little bit nervous, but I kicked a ground and jumped into the air. For about first 10 seconds, I couldn’t relax, but I decided to trusted the belts and zip line and eased up. Wow, the view was amazing and I was like a bird. I looked down green of trees and enjoyed feeling wind against me. It was also thrilling, too.
There are more zip lines and the tour lasted about 2 ½ hours. The length of the tour depends on how many people are going on the same tour. While other people are zip-​lining, you have to wait. I have done zip-​lining out of the U.S. before. I had to handle my belts and hooks, but on this trip, instructor handle them for you. They are very careful about the safety, and they have their own rule called «4 + 4.» They count 1 – 4 twice to check if the hooks and belts are properly set on the wire.
Instructors are friendly and often give you advice and complement after when you finish zip-​lining each wire. I want to start over this tour. So much fun!

I came to NY Zipline for a zipline tour with my girlfriend. It was still winter, so there was still plenty of snow on the ground. We signed up for an early appointment for the easier of the two courses; we had never gone ziplining before.
It turned out we were the only two signed up that morning, so we got a private tour! We had so much fun this way, since the guides were at ease and did not have to worry about much as we were all good-​humoured adults. Our two tour guides were wonderful! They gave very clear instructions, they were fun, funny, and made an already exhilerating day even more fun.
The tour itself went by a bit quicker than it would have with a big group, but that just added to the excitement. Our guides let us do the first two (out of six) ziplines again since we were the only ones on the tour. Once you are off the ground you are never unharnessed to a line attached firmly to one of the surrounding trees. I never felt unsafe.
In my opinion the scariest part of the tour were the rope bridges because I’m a larger guy and my weight shifts around a lot so I felt unsteady but never like I was actually going to fall. The final zipline is essentially a «trailer» for the more challenging course. It was by far the most fun line, the longest and fastest fo the day, and made me excited to try the larger course some time soon. They recommended we come back in the fall when the leaves are turning, which sounds awesome!
I definitely recommend NY Zipline, they know what they’re doing and know how to make a fun day! Plus, they gave us discounts at several local restaurants for lunch/​dinner afterwards, which was an unexpected treat.

Awesome experience. Had a great time two years ago when I went for the first time with a bunch of friends.
Went back last year, and felt the communication from the managers was poor. Due to bad weather we asked for a rescheduled time from the manage of the facility. This was agreed upon by the manager. We asked if we could have 30 mins to decide. This was agreed upon. We took our 30 mins called back and requested the reschedule. Manager stated we could no longer reschedule the tour because they sent the zipline people home. Had to eat the cost of 5 adventure tours due to poor communication and misinformation.
Advice: Get there on-​time and if you need to make a change get it in writing!
