Chick’s Hummelstown Tavern

First of all, I can’t comment on many of the negative reviews below because they seem to be about one particular incident I know nothing about. Either way, I thought Chicks was an excellent dive bar. Drinks are nice and cheap, plus they have live music every Friday. Just a FYI though — it’s a cash only bar. Great spot overall to grab a drink!

Dive bar… and not in a good way! I wouldn’t waste your time going here when there are so many great places in the area. It’s dark and kinda dirty. Plus the people who frequent that place arnt the type you would want to be around. Go anywhere else. Trust me you’ll thank me!

If I could give this a negative star I would. Boycott this dump. Put it out of business for supporting a murderous cop. Shooting someone in the back that is complying and then having a celebration for that person that shot that compliant individual is heinous and in my opinion an accomplice to the murder.

Gross gross gross. Horrible food. The Boro Bar and Grill is MUCH better with the same laid back atmosphere.
Oh and i am suddenly seeing this place supports cops who murder in cold blood. I would have never went back anyway BUT this certaintly seels the deal.

A dive bar in all aspects. Messy, dirty restrooms, sticky floors. What food they have tastes like frozen Schwann’s type food. Avoid. Avoid.

Dirty floors, unfriendly staff. Food is terrible and clearly frozen and reheated. Don’t eat here unless you want food poisoning.

Their food is very bland and tasteless. They do not keep the place clean… it feels run down and dirty. Lastly the service is not good. It can take 15 – 20 minutes to get a drink on a normal night. There are much better options in the Hummelstown area in my opinion.

The service was terrible, and the beer selection was no better. Also, the entertainment has really gone downhill over the past few years. At one time this was a great place to hang out, but those days are gone.

Address is incorrect on Unilocal — it is East not West — but was easy to find once we realized the error. It was our first time there & my girlfriends & I had a great time! The bartenders, server & guy at the door were supernice! Fun, friendly atmosphere — looking forward to our next visit. Great band too — «Nacho Daddy»! Check it out!

Great bartenders, fair pours, fun atmosphere, good bands… I don’t smoke or carry cash much but I still enjoy going out here time to time.

Cigars, darts, and live music. What more could you want?

If you don’t think this is the greatest bar in the entire world, please commit yourself to the mental institution immediately. Chick’s Tavern is the greatest bar in the world. Let’s do a comparison. Chick’s Tavern has 1) good drinks, 2) cheap drinks, 3) awesome people, 4) good live music, 5) an awesome owner (we’ll miss you, Chick), 6) bar games (pool & darts), 7) sports on TV. Your favorite bar (if it’s not Chick’s) almost definitely does not. It’s probably an expensive over-​hyped place full of d-​bags. Your place is also probably in New York City, and Hummelstown was unanimously voted as a better bar scene than NYC (according to a survey randomly chosen from the author of this review, the mayor of Hummelstown, and people who answered «yes» to both of the totally unrelated questions «Isn’t Hummelstown’s bar scene awesome?» and «Don’t you hate NYC’s bar scene?»). Let’s face it, you really go to the bar to get drunk, spend as little as possible, have a good time, and hopefully chuck your junk in somebody. We covered the first three, but what about the last? Well if you’re looking to lay some pipe, Chick’s may not be the best place in the area to pick up a fox, but take it from me, it’s a heck of a place to catch yourself a COUGAR!!!
