New owners! Lovely people that give excellent service! My nails and feet love the place and look beautiful because of the gifted skill of the family that owns the business.

TLC nail shop? I think not— unless TLC stands for Thankless Loudmouth Couple Nail Shop. If I had to rank my number one worst customer service experience, this place receives the award– hands down – with good reason! Anyone knows that the weekday, especially Mondays, are a slow day for nail salons. Why do you think some of them have specials during the earlier part of the week? To my advantage, I decided to wait out the weekend rush and sacrifice my nails looking like I had been in a fight to get quality service. My plans, however backfired. It was a Monday, around 11AM. I have passed this location up plenty of times, but was skeptical for some reason(rule number 1 – always trust your intuition)! I think I debated the idea several times before deciding to give TLC a try. The place was empty – I mean no one there at all. They didn’t seem desperate for a customer, so I showed the guy my nails and asked for a price on a shellac refill, which he stated, but knocked off a dollar«just for me.» A young lady filed off the shellac when 2 customers came in wanting pedis and manis. I noticed that she was starting to rush once this happened. I wondered as well how they could accommodate two pedis with only two people in the shop, but honestly, NOTMYPROBLEM! Although I deserve to treat myself as much as I desire, my previous shellac job had set me back $ 41 bucks and the polish was peeling off after a week(yeah I’ve had a tough Month with nail salons), so I really did not want to spend over $ 30(including tip) this time around. While the lady was filing my shellac off, I asked her(and this part of the review is pivotal, so pay attention: «How much is pink and white?» She replied, «$ 25 dollars.. .you want to do pink and white?» «Yes,» I stated. «I’ll let him know, he do your nail over there,» the lady said. Clear right? But for safe measure, maybe I should have mentioned this change once I sat in the manicurist’s chair because when he was about to apply the shellac to my nail, I mentioned it to him and he acted surprised. I told him that I made the change when I was getting the shellac taken off and she said she would tell him, but she didn’t. When I asked him could I still get the pink and white, he said yes but he’d have to start over etc.. .therefore, I took responsibility for my actions of not informing the manicurist who was performing the service and went with the original decided upon shellac refill. This was a costly lesson that I was still willing to give a tip on until the lady started hollering at me across the room calling me a girl. I wondered who she was talking to because I am no girl! All of a sudden, the lady comes to the other side of the room where I’m at and gets in my face – calling me a girl over and over again. Mind you, I’m still getting my nails done and have not paid yet, so as she hollering at me telling me that I didn’t ask for pink and white, my blood pressure is going up, and my tip money has dwindled down to zero. I will NEVER tip anyone who screams and hollers at me and calls me a liar! After trying to compose myself and not get belligerent before my nail job is finished, I pose a question to the male manicurist who evidently had choice words with her about me trying to change my service: Does it really matter? I choose the higher service. By this time, the female manicurist is loud and boisterous raging plenty of words in her native language towards the male manicurist. He argues BACK at her in the MIDDLEOFTHESALON! They disappear for a minute, and the male manuscript comes back to his station to finish my nails while the female manicurist is still in rage making noise and talking loudly from the back. The male manicurist decided to give the lady the silent treatment, but she is still on a roll – talking as loud as she wants to in front of customers! I tell him that I do not appreciate being called a girl because girl’s cannot afford to get services at a salon – women do and she needs to learn some respect and refer to people properly(i.e. lady or maam). He just shakes his head. No discount, no I’m sorry– only mentioning over and over again that the next time I come, he’ll d my nails with the solar powder because it’ll really last. I played the game, so I could at least have a decent job done on my current set of nails, but I would not step a foot or tor in this place after how they treated me. I paid the agreed upon amount and left as quick as I could. If I wanted to watch an episode of Jerry Springer or a soap opera, TLC would be a great place to visit, but I do visit salons for such foolishness neither should you. Attitude adjustment and the existence of customer service is desperately needed here or TLC will find itself closed PERMANENTLY. By the way, I left no tip. They only get one star because the nail color he choose was beautiful and the nails are pretty nice. Other than that zero rating for zero self control and lack of professionalism.
