History

Established in 1988.

Started in December 1988 as a full line pet store in Crosby, Texas. We moved to Atascocita to be closer to our customers in 1995. Moving to Humble, on highway 59, in 2007 brought us more to the center of our customer base and made us more accessible to everyone.

Barry and Jamie Whittaker bought the pet store in 1988 to have a retail store to sell baby birds hatched and raised in their home. Previously owned birds that needed homes were a part of the business from the beginning. We realized that it was just as important to help these displaced birds to find new homes as it was to find homes for our new babies.

Some of the adult birds that came to us had behavior problems that had made them lose their previous home (s) and because we wanted to stop that cycle we started to study bird behavior and found ways to help the birds replace those out of control behaviors.

Meet the Business Owner

Barry and Jamie W.

Business Owner

Barry and Jamie have spent the last 30 years living with birds and learning about them. We have taken all of the courses and certifications available on birds and bird care. Jamie is a certified parrot behavior consultant with the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants), a professional member of IAATE (International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators), a life member of AFA (American Federation of Aviculture). She is a public speaker on parrot behavior and has authored articles on parrot behavior. She serves on the board of several avian organizations.

Barry and Jamie are passionate about the birds in their care and they are dedicated to improving the lives of all birds that come through their doors.
