Description

Specialties

The site of The Colony dates back to some of the first French settlers on Mount Desert Island in 1787. Nestled across from Frenchman’s Bay just minutes from the entrance to Acadia National Park, the unique coastal property offers spectacular views of Frenchman’s Bay, gardens, and large lawns. For the more active, there is an outdoor heated swimming pool and a wonderful dog walking path. The Colony makes a perfect base from which to experience the many attractions and activities in the area.

With 31 cottages and several motel units to choose from, our accommodation offers something for everyone, from couples who are searching for seclusion, to groups and families looking for diversity. The cottages are individually located in private surroundings and offer a relaxing, personal and peaceful experience.
