PAWS Pet Hospital

Our dog was having some health/​digestive issues, and our regular vet closes at 5:00 PM. I called out vet at 4:45, asking if I could bring my dog in in 10 min. They told me, «no, we’re closing now.»
I then looked up PAWS in Hugo. A friend had told me of their after hours services, so I called immediately. They were happy to help, informed me that there would be a $ 95.00 urgent care visit charge (which is about what my normal vet charges for a regular visit). They told me to come in at 6:30 PM.
I arrived a bit early, and they got us all set up immediately. I am writing this review at 6:55, and they already have my dog in the back, diagnosed, a quote worked up and approved, and I anticipate I will be out the door before 7:00!
Staff is friendly, went over all options, and did not perform any unnecessary tests/​procedures. They even gave him IV fluids at no cost just to make sure he was going home feeling well. I would definitely recommend PAWS for any after hours services, and may even switch for our regular vet services!

I started bringing my German shepherd to PAWS in Hugo mainly because I wasn’t happy with my previous vet clinic that had seven vets (I never saw the same person twice) and I had to reiterate my dog’s history every time I went.
At PAWS, I’m treated like family every time I walk in the door. My dog loves it there because all the staff are at ease with animals and have very good energy. Plus, a treat every time she comes in doesn’t hurt :)
Both vets and all the vet techs are caring and will follow up with me after any incident to see how my girl is doing. They go the extra mile in their service.
If you choose this vet clinic for your small animals, you won’t be just a file folder number, trust me!
They’re not cheap but what good veterinary is? Plus, Hugo’s not exactly in my back yard, but worth it. Also, they’ve recently opened up their emergency vet clinic for much longer hours — which has come in handy a couple times.
