History
Established in 2015.
Kountry Kayaks discovered the passion for the sport of kayaking while being introduced a few years ago taking the route from the La Grange Old Bridge to Basso Bridge which covers 3 miles of breathtaking sights. It is rated Class I. This route is a great introduction to the new kayaker or a relaxing way to enjoy this section of the Tuolumne River. Launch will be at the historic Old La Grange Bridge (open to foot traffic only in 1987) and float down the river to the New Basso Bridge (Old Basso opened to foot traffic only in 1987). This route offers many opportunities to observe wildlife and several native birds in the area. The river also serves as the spawning grounds for salmon in October and November.
