The Hudson Milliner

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a great place to stay while we were in Hudson for our anniversary, and the Hudson Milliner fulfilled every expectation. When I saw the photos of these rooms a few weeks ago, I knew I had to get something booked ASAP. Charlotta was a massive help in getting my reservation confirmed, and the welcome letter she and Shannon provided with tips for things to do in town was so great to have. This is easily the most attractive place to stay in Hudson. The interior design is gorgeous — there’s so many little touches that we noticed during our three days in the Cloche room. It’s centrally located on Warren St. and it was wonderful to get up and walk just a minute to Moto for iced coffee in the morning. I can’t recommend this place enough. Looking forward to getting back and staying at the Bowler room next!

I am in love with this place! The art and photography together with interior that you have to see for yourself, in this well held historic building, gives you romance and cosy home feeling. It is timeless.

My daughter and I visited the Milliner right after Christmas 2014, we had an enjoyable weekend getaway. Our room was warm and cozy, and the owners are extremely helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to do in Hudson.
The Milliner has been exquisitely lovingly restored into gorgeous apartments — the photos don’t do it justice. Will definitely visit again this year.

I’m normally not a Unilocaler but this place is amazing so I had to do this! I was just as happy staying in the massive, gorgeous rooms as I was walking around this amazing town. the owners are artists so you will find their beautiful art work in the rooms. it’s in the middle of everything you possibly need and want. restaurants, cafes, shopping, etc. The vintage appliances in each kitchen make cooking a fun experience and they are equipped with every thing you didn’t think of. Im super picky and when I tell you this is good, I mean it!!! gorgeous.

Awfull! We stayed here for a weekend and had the worst experience. The owner was rude, and the apartment was dirty. We would never go back.

Weekend getaway. Perfect location close to all restaurants and shops. The room was amazing and cozy. The décor really set the tone and this mini vacation couldn’t have been anymore perfect. Loved it. Will definitely come again.

The first time my girlfriend and I visited Hudson we stayed in the Barlow Hotel in a tiny room void of personality. We fell in love with the town but did everything we could to avoid spending time in the hotel. This past week, however, we stayed in the Top Hat suite at the Milliner and the massive room was so beautiful we were just as happy relaxing under its 16 floor ceilings as we were exploring the nooks and crannies of the town itself.
The Milliner is unlike any place I’ve ever stayed — it’s clearly been a labor of love for the owners and you feel that at every turn, from the lovingly chosen and renovated furniture, to the hand-​tiled floors, to their tasteful preservation of the rustic space, which was one a hat factory. A working kitchen and spare loft bed add functionality.
Right downstairs is a fabulous charcuterie with a huge array of local and imported cheeses and exotic offerings like dried capers and salted watermelon jam. Combined with the excellent wine store a block away and the assortment of restaurants and cafes further along Warren Street, we couldn’t have been happier.

Absolutely love this place! My girlfriend and I stayed at The Milliner recently for a quick weekend getaway from Brooklyn.
We borrowed a car and drove up – the drive up the Taconic is just long enough (2 hours) to enjoy before your legs get restless. There are plenty of free spots in front of the building, and a municipal lot a few blocks down to keep your car. Everything we did was walkable (The Milliner really is right in the midst of everything), so next time I may opt for Amtrak to enjoy the view of the Hudson River.
The suite itself (we stayed in the Bowler) is gorgeous. Truly spacious. Fully & uniquely furnished with antiques and artwork. The building has a warm, old sense of character to it (with none of the heat/​water issues of an old building). The full kitchen, though underutilized in our visit, really made us feel like we were staying in a home rather than a hotel room.
Shannon and Charlotta were helpful hosts without being overbearing — they pointed us to all the great spots in town to eat. Don’t miss Bonfiglio & Bread or Food Studio! Or for a special occasion, Fish & Game. There were too many great shops to count — affordable vintage places, expensive antique places, some newer boutiques, record stores, galleries, etc.
Can’t wait to come back to this place soon and see Hudson in the summertime!

I will admit I was a bit apprehensive about staying here having never been north of the city and the area looked a bit dated on google street view but I was completely blow away when I arrived. A friend invited me up for the weekend and after my first Amtrak trip ever which was much better than I expected I arrived in a cute quiet little down. The apartment was about 10 minutes from the train stop and absolutely gorgeous.
We stayed in the Fedora I believe. The place was spotless and very cool. I loved the classic range and refrigerator but also appreciated the new dishwasher and Tempur-​Pedic beds. The heat worked great and I was very comfortable the whole night. There’s plenty of dishes and silverware if you want to have some people over and cook dinner. My only gripe was that there wasn’t a lock on the bathroom, I’m super paranoid about stuff like that but I’m guessing most people wouldn’t have an issue. Cell signal at least for T-​mobile was terrible in Hudson but the Milliner has decent wifi so I was able to cope. I only stayed for one night but it was lovely and I’d like to try to come back. I can’t think of too many places I’ve stayed where I enjoyed the room this much.
There’s a bar called the Red Dot which is quite close and while I didn’t go my friends raved about it so it’s probably worth checking out.
