RJ’s is a family owned and operated meat market specializing in fresh cuts of USDA Choice Beef, Berkshire Pork and Amish chickens. We make all of our own sausages, hams, bacons and old world salami right in our own store. We also offer our own dry aged beef, USDA Choice of course, and Guaranteed tender. We will be happy to special cut something for you, we also welcome orders by phone. Because we are a small family business Sundays have shorter hours so we are able to have family time. Special cuts can be ready on Sundays, but must be ordered the previous day. We bake all our own buns and breads fresh in store. Buns and breads are not pre sliced (exception being texas toast) pre slicing causes the breads to loose flavor and stale faster. Why would we do that? We also offer the making of custom venison sausage made from your own meats with our award winning recipes. While we have won over 200 awards for our meats and sausage, the best award we can possibly earn is your business!

History

Established in 1987.

RJ’s was founded in 1987 by owner Rick (RJ) Reams with the goal of providing top quality meats at fair and affordable prices. Today the whole Reams family is involved in the business, Ricks wife Anne, sons Anthony, Aaron & Joe many nephews and nieces are also involved in the day to day operation of our store.

I go in there occasionally to satisfy the carnivores in my life. They’re known for their brats. They also have pretty darned good fresh rolls. Dough is made locally, frozen and then they bake them fresh daily. mmmmm bread.
Also they’re super friendly to clueless vegetarians, even though I know they laugh behind my back. Oh well.

i am so dang happy that I live really close to this little meat store. I have been purchasing most of my meat here since moving to this area and happy to report that they have the amish gerber chicken-​housemade items like cottage bacon, brats, summer sausage. I got such great reviews over the jalepeno cheddar summer sausage I served at a party everybody had to do a quick run to the store to get some for themselves to go home with. HA HA. The cowboy steak was very tender and worked fabulously to fondue. They do have their own baked breads and I purchased some little dinner rolls that were fresh and soft. I find the prices here to be similar to what you would pay at a regular grocery store so why not patronize a local meat store that is doing a great job in our little community…

I had the good fortune of spending the last Sat. of gorgeous weather in Hudson for a gathering of supper club aficionados at The Hangar. They had the great taste to have the event catered by RJ’s. The brat and bun were fabulous. Only complaint was that they didn’t have the means to keep them hot. I almost wish I had passed because, their sides are so fabulous. Huge chunks of egg in the potato salad. Great baked beans, great flavors and nothing weird in them. What floored me was just seeing macaroni salad in the mix. Minnesotans seem to have a weird aversion to macaroni salad for parties, and you never see it. You can guess the overkill portion I took, and it was so good I ate the whole thing. After the party I drove straight over the little bridge to the meat market itself. I need simple ham and swiss, they use Boars Head.
I wanted to try a bread, so I picked up Seibenfelder Loaf. You haven’t lived til you tasted this stuff. It’s worth a trip just for this. They also carry Texas toast, which seemed to be the only bread that is sliced. It was very busy with everyone huddled in the middle of the meat case. Probably a Packers discussion is involved. It almost seems sacreligious that it’s between a Taco Johns and KFC. The best part, only a few feet up you hop right on 94 W home.

RJs is a grand champion for a reason. If you are a meat lover particularly brats this is the place to go! Delicious! They are reasonably priced. Their variety is amazing. I recommend the jalapeño cheddar and the southwest brat in particular. Steaks are also amazing :)

I will not cook meat unless I buy it from RJ’s Meats i go to the grocery store for everything but meat great Steaks try the Lumberjack Steaks, I always get the Ground Chuck for Burgers can’t go wrong there and get there buns baked in house, Great pork, chicken & sausages, Hot dogs & brats too! a Great Value

Was just thinking of this place as someone mentioned a place in northern Minn that has wild rice brats. RJ’s does too.
It’s a pillar of the carnivore community. They are known for award-​winning sausage, ham and brats. Actually the bakery buns are pretty good too so pick em up while there too.
They park a little brat wagon outside outside during nice weather so you can eat one there or to go.
Imagine the «packer» brats — jalapeño and cheddar — will sell out this year with Favre now a Vike since it’s so close to Mn. Many of the brat varieties are in the freezer case, too, for take home.
All the kabobs are great, esp the souvlaki. Varieties of meat sticks are yum too.
About 10 years ago I had RJ’s custom make mini brats for a party — using sheep intestine (rather than whatever animal intestine is usually used) for the casing. They were a huge hit. I don’t see them offered there, tho, guess it didn’t catch on. Falcon Foods at the University of Wisconsin — River Falls used to sell the mini brats (unsure if they still do), and it’s a good place in nearby RF for meat, cheese and ice cream produced by food science students.

I’ve been to RJ’s many times and love this place. When heading to Wisconsin, once you get to the top of the hill after crossing the river, look left. It’s right by the KFC.
They specialize in Brats and other sausages. I’ve eaten nearly every brat there and they are fantastic. The only one that wierded me out was the hawaiian brat. It had pineapples and cherries in it– the cherries looked like large spots of blood. Don’t judge this place by one ill-​conceived sausage, it’s not the norm.
They have a very nice meat case and have a wide selection of poultry, pork and beef.
Don’t miss their braunschwieger. If you are a lover of this sausage, theirs is the best I’ve had. It’s cheap too– like $ 3 a lb!
Friendly staff and decent bakery make this a must stop when I’m headed to Fleet Farm in Hudson to buy dog vaccinations.
