I’m so excited to have a Hannaford near me now. This store is much smaller than other Hannafords but still has a lot of great stuff. It has a full service pharmacy with drive thru and a deli counter. I never have to wait to long in line to checkout. It’s my go to place for grocery shopping.

«Surprise» is the word of the day for this store/review. I was first surprised, about a year ago, to learn that The Happy Clown had closed. I shall miss their ice cream, it probably would have made my ice cream list. I was next surprised when I saw that a Hannaford would go in this site, because it did not seem like a large enough plot of land. Once the store finally opened, I was again surprised to see it was constantly busy. After having visited today, I can see why. Next surprise — Google Maps gets the location wrong, it’s not next to Bell Pond, it’s just south of the traffic light where US9, NY82, NY23 and NY9H converge. Also, while the address of the store — as per the receipt — says it’s in Hudson, the Hannaford website calls it the Hannaford Livingston store. I think part of the reason this store is popular is because it ISN’T a superstore. Its size is more reminiscent of a good-sized grocery store before all kinds of specialty stations were thrown in. It’s very well organized, no space is wasted. I would say the only«luxury» item in the store is the olive bar. It really did remind me of an «old-school» supermarket, and I bet a lot of people like that. Though being a somewhat smaller store, there were 1 or 2 specialty items I could not find that I can find at larger Hannafords, and there are no self-service checkouts. My final surprise was learning the traffic patterns, and evidently they had to «make do» with some awkwardness due to the relatively small plot of land. It seems you can only enter or exit conveniently from US9 northbound or NY82 southbound, otherwise you have to turn at the traffic light to the north and enter from the proper direction, or make use of Proper Rd. just to the south.
