Description

Specialties

Fairview Wines & Spirits is the premier wine and liquor store in Columbia County. Since 1990 we have attended hundreds of trade events and traveled to the worlds wine regions tasting and seeking out the best new wines. Find great wines and spirits at great values here before they are discovered by the wine press. We feature a large selection of single malt Scotch, single barrel Bourbons, artisanal brandies and liqueurs. We are very interested in the growing local wine and spirits scene and it is well represented in the store.

Our staff is knowledgeable and dedicated to providing great service and helping you find exactly what you want.

History

Established in 1990.

Risa & Lewis opened Fairview Wines & Spirits after realizing that there was a need for a store offering a large and in depth selection of domestic and international wines and fine spirits. The store has grown from 2000 square feet to over 4000 square feet.

Meet the Business Owner

Risa and Lewis D.

Business Owner

Risa & Lewis came to the Hudson area as artists in the 1970’s and created the «Livingston Pottery». They made dishes for the White House, are represented in the collection of the Smithsonian Museum and many other public and private collections. In their studio they also designed and created a limited edition plate for Hudson’s Bicentennial. An increasing interest in wine and food led them to open Fairview Wines & Spirits. Their first wine class was with Kevin Zraly of Windows of the World fame. They have taken courses at the Culinary Institute and attended many international trade seminars.

Combining their interests enabled them to organized tastings and events to support many local and community based organizations that have contributed to the quality and cultural life of the Hudson Valley.
