My first experience with Whiskey Hill kennels was my last. The owner is pleasant enough, but her kennels are outdoor chain link fence types. I paid extra to have my shorthaired boxer put in her office at night for warmth, but he was returned to me with a nasty case of kennel cough that took three months and multiple vet visits to cure. Upon pickup, I learned that she sprays dogs with a hose if they bark. She doesn’t want her neighbors to complain and cause waves with the County. My boxer barks. It was winter and he got kennel cough. He spent a cold week soaking wet sitting on damp concrete. My dog is a member of my family and I am so angry at his treatment at Whiskey Hill that my hands are shaking as I type this. I would never in two lifetimes take any other animal, horse or dog, to this woman. I feel our experience with them was unforgivable. This is simply a warning to anyone who values their pet. I wish I could say how great she was, or how I will use them again. I strongly suggest you find another kennel, of which there are several in the area.

Joanna is a wonderful woman who care deeply for all the animals she cares for. Her kennels are clean with each do getting their own run. My puppy is always happy and most importantly healthy when she comes back to us. I highly recommend working with Joanna!

This is obviously a family owned/run business. They are superb. Very friendly, and a beautiful establishment. There’s always horses in the front pasture. The stable is excellent! The horse stalls have runs! The indoor arena is huge! The tackroom is insulated and heated(by wood stove). The owner does turnout and feeding. The kennel is very clean. It’s cleaned/disinfected(with animal safe materials) daily. The kennel also has a giant spread of «dog houses» at the far end of each one. The owner has gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure a comfortable, peaceful, and safe environment for all animals on the property. She also teaches Dog obedience training classes. A very versatile facility. The owner also has stringent requirements for animal boarding. such as ensuring all dogs are treated for fleas, and up to date on all vaccinations including kennel cough. The cat section is indoors, and each cat has it’s own *LARGE* cage with a clean litter box and food/water dishes and TOYS! Also a separation panel is available if your cat doesn’t get on well with others. Cats are also required to be treated for fleas. This is a wonderful facility worth experiencing.
