This Walmart is okay. The staff is friendly most of the time.
It’s 24 hours which is a plus.
Cons:
Never enough registers open during the day
Half of the self checkouts are broken ALWAYS
The store is a mess with the merchandise everywhere.
I’ve shopping here for almost 20 years, so it’s alright.

Hey, it’s a Walmart. There aren’t great expectations here but for me they fulfill the need for basic things. My recent visit was «OK».
I went to pick up an oil filter and some OTC pills I needed. I buy my oil filters there because they are cheap. I wanted to get two but like last time I could only find one, and that was on a different shelf than it was supposed to be. I pretty much expect this. The OTC pills were right were they should have been with their «Equate» brand next to the name brand. Almost $ 2 difference between the two, with exactly the same ingredients.
There was some clutter in the aisles but they had a crew attending to it. The shelves are generally neat and when you find help they are usually friendly and accommodating. I’ve had limited experience in the pharmacy but when I have they’ve treated me right. Some times it can be frustrating that they don’t have what you are looking for but then you need to go to a specialty store; Home Depot, etc.
Upon checkout today I greeted the young soporific cashier with a «good morning». Not an utter was returned. She checked my two items out and when she handed me the receipt, (at least she didn’t throw it at me.) I thanked her out of habit. That too went unanswered. I suppose no one aspires to become a Walmart cashier but I’m positive the Walmart training sessions include some acknowledgement of the customer, so there’s no excuse for a cashier to at least feign a modicum of interest.
Will I go back? Of course; the next time I need two items.

This is one of the most inconvenient walmart’s I have ever shopped. I am a fan of self check out but this store has 8 self check registers and never has more than four working. I also come here for money orders and the self service money order machine has been out of service since the last week of October. The staff is unpleasant at best and the customer service managers just walk around every time I am here, it’s busy open up a register, take some returns, do something! This store needs help, retraining and more staff!

This Walmart is the stereotypical Walmart, when you enter you see some of the nastiest looking people, weirdest people, and see the weirdest things. Also, the store is usually pretty crowded so nothing is ever stocked on the shelfs. Gatorades that are stocked on the shelfs are always damaged. Since the store is usually pretty crowded and only have 1 or 2 registers open to check out it takes forever. Self checkout usually has a long line as well it is irritating when you only have a few things and have to wait 10 minutes to pay and leave. Not the best of places I wouldn’t suggest this place to go to.

operator very helpful-​but i called several times to talk to customer service and after attempting to connect 5 times at 2 different times was told customer service just does not pick up the phone! and I have to come in. I am an hour away from the store and needed a 30 second answer. I can“t believe the store manager let’s this type of bad practce to happen. Will not shop here agian.

My kids had a friends birthday party last week and I came in to buy a card and wrapping paper for the birthday boy. When we walked in we all immediately noticed these two grown men hiding from each other and peeking through the shelves to see if the other one was looking for them. This freaked me out. My son was nervous because these guys were acting very strange. This is not normal behavior for men in their 30’s. This was going on in the toy section. I never felt so uncomfortable shopping in a store that I went to leave but had to pay for the card. The two guys continued hiding from each other, we saw them again on the way to the registers. I passed a comment to the cashier to say that there were two freaks playing hide and seek in the children’s section of the store and she wasn’t the least bit concerned. She just shrugged her shoulders. I found this alarming! This was the first and last time I will visit this location. They don’t seem to care about customers safety. We saw a lot of strange things in those 10 minutes. I know this is Howell, but it’s not the south. In the Freehold branch I have never encountered people or situations we experienced in Howell. Enter at your own risk…

So yeah I know why Howell Walmart is busy on a Sunday night. I’ve lived here forever. Only 2 registers open oh and the self checkout as well. There were so many people waiting online to pay. I’d like to know why there are so many registers at the store and only 2 of them are being used on a Sunday night or any other time. I feel bad for anyone that was desperate to buy something there last night. I just wanted some oil and filters, didn’t buy anything though. I know, put the people that work there on the registers when it gets out of hand and there is an extreme wait just to pay. Is there no one there that works in a managerial position? Clearly whomever is managing it has no business doing so. Great make it a Super Walmart. I guess that just means make a huge store and that’s all.

I came here with a friend late on a Sunday night to check out some new makeup. We spent about 20 minutes total browsing our options. I opened a few unpackaged lipsticks to check if they were used or not, because apparently people like to apply lipstick without buying it, or just smash them against the wall since that’s what most of them looked like.
I opened maybe 5, just to check the quality and color. Then I closed them and put them back. After this, a woman stormed over. She raised her voice and said «EXCUSE ME, we DONT open the products» then marched away. I didn’t even get a chance to politely say sorry or even say «excuse me they all look like they’ve all been licked and crushed.»
I got pretty mad but kept looking at the makeup. I started noticing numerous employees hovering over me. Women were walking over and pretending to do something a few feet away from me but they just kept watching me. Twice I saw a different employee walk over, look at my friend and I, then turn around and walk back to where she came from. Looked like she was reporting back to someone. I don’t know if they want you to just buy disgusting products and deal with it later but I’m gonna open the unpackaged lipstick to make sure I’m not purchasing something that a Wal-​Mart customer had on their mouth.
After feeling so disgusted and unwelcome by all the nasty women in the beauty section, we made our way to the candles. We were followed there too. I was so pissed off at this point that I just wanted to throw everything on the floor and step on all of the lipstick then leave. I quickly gathered everything I had to purchase and left.
I can’t believe the people here don’t know better. I worked retail for 5 years and they’re doing it all wrong. Worst customer service I have ever received, anywhere. I’m never shopping here again. I will take my business to the target across the street, where I’m sure the employees have better things to do than make their customers feel uncomfortable enough to leave.

Never enough registers open. Employees are rude. This store is just a matter of convenience, quite frankly.

Totally improved the store since they went Super and 24 hours. Best time to shop. in the middle of the night when no one is there. Other than it being busy all the time and like 2 cashiers, you get really good deals. Chicken half the price which is a plus. It is kind of messy there too. Big improvement. But it is Walmart. so. yea.

So I was in the mood for some delicious baked potatoes. So since Walmart is so close to me and open 24/​7, it seemed like a great idea. I head in and i buy myself TWO bags of potatoes. Because I was anticipating 3 weeks worth of making some delicious baked potatoes.
I bought them, headed home, and put them away for the next day.
NEXT DAY: I’m hungry and ready for some baked potatoes. But wait. somethings wrong. The bags of potatoes smell moldy, and they’re a bit wet. My dreams have shattered. 3 weeks of potatoes are gone. No signs of leaks or wet areas in my pantry.
But, it’s fine, i’ll just head to Walmart and tell them what happened, surely they’ll help me out.
LOL. NO. THEY WONT.
I go to customer service and tell the manager what happened, she said there’s nothing she can do without the receipt. Seriously, who keeps a receipt for potatoes? Who would think something would go wrong?
Apparently I must have bought them in a hurry, blinded by excitement, didn’t notice that they were probably sitting in a puddle of water/​cleaning fluid in the bottom of the bin.
Now, I sit here potato-​less.
I’ll never forgive you, Walmart. I’ll be getting my *dry* potatoes from shoprite for now on.

Welcome to walmart Howell, a store the size of an airport. With no employes to be found. And if you are somehow lucky enough to find one they have no idea how to help you.
They usually have just 2 registerers open so the lines are ridiculous !
Just awful all around. Try target right across the road for a solid superstore

So far the best Walmart I’ve been to… (I sound like a Walmart stalker lol) any way. Don’t come here on a Sunday afternoon. Umm gets very crowed. If you know the area you know why. :)

The store is ok, the employees unfortunately are another story. If you can mark an X on a paper that says, sign here for name you are hired! I have gone to this walmart a few times and I have had incidents where the employees are not educated to understand what they themselves are saying or how they are reacting to situations!
Here is one of my latest issues: Last week I went to buy cold cuts (i know what was i thinking) .
Anyway, after waiting for 6 minutes with no one behind the counter I asked for someone and he went and got the deli guy. Out comes this older man with a board in his hand named Luciano and a knife in the other hand. He had his gloves on already. He puts the board and knife on the counter and says, «what can i get you?» No, «Hello how are you today, how may I help?». I proceed with, «Hello, how are you? I would like quarter pound of salami please sliced thin and could you please discard the first slice?» Employee:” rolls his eyes and says, «sure.»
He proceeds to get the salami out of the deli counter fridge and turns on the machine, (still wearing the same gloves). I ask, «excuse can you please change your gloves sir?» Employee: «WHAT I JUST PUT THESE GLOVES ON! I CAME FROM THE BACK I PICKED UP THE BOARD AND KNIFE AND NOW IM GETTING YOU WHAT YOU ASKED FOR! WHY SHOULD I CHANGE MY GLOVES?!! Me: «Sir, I understand you just came from the back with the board and knife in your hand but I dont know where your hands were prior to putting those gloves on, after you put those gloves on nor do i know what that knife handle and cutting board that we just agreed on that you carried out here were or who handled them last. Can you please change your gloves?» Employee: «ARE YOU KIDDING ME, I JUST PUT THESE ON?!! YOU SAW ME W THE BOARD AND KNIFE! (side opinion chimes in some young kid, «i saw him put those gloves on this is ridiculous!) Me: «Mind your business please this does not concern you! Please continue to mix your salad!» Deli guy then proceeds to go to the BACK AGAIN to «change his gloves» not in front of me! Now I am suppose to take his word for it that those would be new gloves?! After he just gave me a hard time to change the ones he had on… I walked away!
Employees who work at fast food places or places of such need to be educated on proper procedures when it comes to wearing gloves what they can and can not touch once gloves are on!
I went to the McDonald in that same store and the manager, (wearing a blue shirt) had on gloves. Girl in front of me orders egg whites, I order egg mcmuffin, he walks to fridge touches handle, grabs container with egg whites in it, grabs handle now on grill (still wearing SAME gloves)… closes lid, grabs spatular to miix eggs, opens draw where bread is grabs bread, them touches cheese with gloves on opens fridge again to get more bread, touches spatular again to get sausage, wraps up sandwiches with gloves STILL on, walks over to register takes order, takes money puts money in draw and goes back to the cooking area and prepares the next meals the same way I just mentioned! I got my money back! will not eat from here ever again!

Sorry. I cannot stand this store. Every time I have gone to Walmart in search of something specific, say a replacement carafe for a coffeemaker — something you would expect a department store the size of a football field to carry, no dice. I suppose if you don’t actually *need* something, just enjoy soaking up the Walmart atmosphere, it’s just a swell place to hang out, but I can’t say I quite care for the «atmosphere» either. The store is packed with feral, shrieking children, and if you are lucky enough to encounter the item you came to purchase, the lines fit the description of a Schwarzschild radius — I swear time stops. Time spent in this store is time that will never be recovered.

Excellent place for deals. They are in the process of expanding to become a Super Walmart. I have been shopping there for 13 years and the prices are great, the store is clean and the staff is very helpful. You do have the usual Walmartians that seem to inhabit WalMarts everywhere. It does attract a certain sort but thats what makes the world go round. The ease of shopping and variety of products from food to greeting cards really makes it almost a one stop shop.

I went to Walmart in Howell, NJ today around 2pm on 4÷21÷11 and was checked out at stand number 5. I just wanted to say how patient and friendly my cashier was. Not only that but the cleanliness and organization of the store was very impressive also. I noticed a lot of staff on hand stocking and such looking willing, ready, and most imp. approachable to answer questions. I went to customer service to let someone know of my wonderful experience and was told to go online. This is the first place i’ve seen for reviews in my initial quick search so far but I think there should be something available in store to give feedback. When I worked at Banana Rep. I got bonuses for good comments given to me by satisfied customers! Hope this cashier gets her props!
