Very clean. It was pretty quiet, we were the only table there for lunch. The food is extremely fresh and well flavored. The servers are very warm and friendly and the owner came out to ask how everything was. We will definitely dine here again when we are out this way.

I heard a lot of good things about Vietnam Bistro plus it’s very near home. Why not? We decided on a Wednesday evening and sat right away. Not being too familiar with Vietnamese cuisine we were approached by a waiter that spoke little English, so help inquiring about the menu would be nil. Fortunately the menu has pictures and descriptions for novices. After taking a long while deciding on what we wanted another waiter asked us in English if we needed any help. Whew! He asked us if we wanted to start with an appetizer. He talked up the calamari and we decided to go with it. The calamari were unlike the usual deep fried you get with marinara. They were breaded and sautéed with a sweet sauce on the side. I don’t believe I’ve ever had more tender calamari. They almost melted in my mouth. Definitely fresh. I decided on the phở with shrimp and Vietnamese meatballs while my date had Bun with pork and Vietnamese egg rolls. I’m a stickler for hot food and my phở came out steaming hot; had to actually wait to eat it. Amid the rice vermicelli and broth were, shallots, peas, onions, shrimp, and meatballs that were different if one was expecting Italian meatballs. Although good and very well made I would have preferred a little less cilantro. The bun was awesome and if you are thinking in terms of Chinese egg rolls, don’t. I’ll be back. There’s a lot of items I need to try.

Absolutely delicous Vietnamese food. I’ve discovered this place a few months ago, and so happy I found it. Everything is fresh and flavorful. My favorite is their phở– especially the vegetarian with tofu. Perfect bubble tea as well. Love coming here with my boyfriend and a bottle of wine as a casual date, with amazing food!

I bypass the Freehold Vietnamese restaurant to go here because the Phở is THATMUCH better. It’s delicious, always piping hot when I order to go, and the plus is that I can order online and they never give me the wrong thing. I occasionally eat in with my teens who love it as well. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the soup is not always consistently phonominal.(see what I did there?) When it’s good, it’s VERY good. When it’s not good, it’s still better than the competition.

Excellent. The Phở was amazing. My daughter and I went on Saturday 4÷16÷16. Clean well lit. Service was great. The Phở was perfect. I went with the chef’s choice. Comes with tripe and tendon and choice cuts of beef. My daughter got Phở as well but she went with a non tripe version. The veggies were fresh and crunchy. We will be back very soon.

All my life I have wanted to try phở and I finally decided to give this place a shot after months of thinking about going. I honestly had no idea what to expect or to order. I decided to go with P9 I believe it was. I took mine to go, but next time I will stay for sure! You get a TON of vegetables and I only got the small portion. The broth was delicious, not salty at all. The noodles also were quite nice. I look forward to coming back here and exploring the menu. It’s nice to not have to travel 30 – 45 minutes each way for a good meal, considering there are no phở places around! Definitely try this place!

Everything I’ve had here is delicious. With the Phở, the side plate of sprouts and herbs is fresh and plentiful. Food is very good quality and gets an A++ in the flavor department. I’ve been here twice so far and it was consistently excellent.

Expected a lot of this place due to the good reviews but I was very disappointed. I wanted to like this place but it didn’t meet my expectations way too expensive for what you get Portions were small, and very little meat could be found. Its like you were forced to buy extra meat. The only thing I liked was the Tea. I tried twice. Will not be returning

A welcome oasis of delicious Vietnamese food in a desert of mostly Italian and Fast Food options on US Highway 9 near I-195. I’ve eaten here about a dozen times now for a weekday lunch and it’s some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in NJ. The Phở is the king here… delicious base, proper veggies accompanying the phở(with Thai basil), and a killer price at $ 6.95 at lunch. Just enough to fill you up, but not the usual massive portion you’d usually expect when I usually order Phở just as a FYI. I also really love Bahn Mi sandwiches made here… crisp outside/soft inside French bread with pickled veggies, cilantro, and my favorite meat choice for it is the grilled pork. If you haven’t tried a Bahn Mi and you love sandwiches in general, do yourself a favor and order it. Finally, the staff are super friendly and I’ve always been greeted with a smile. Service is fast unless it is super busy, but even then it’s still very quick. Overall a top 5 lunch choice for me and my co-workers/friends anywhere in the Lakewood/Howell area. I feel torn writing this review because I want to stay a secret… but I think it’s a secret worth sharing so it stays around a long time, so eat here!

I edited. Sigh Foods good. For the prices though they skimp out on a lot of meat. And I mean a lot. I wouldn’t have minded except that the little meat they do give us(no pun intended) are sliced so thin something had to be said. 2 spring rolls are 4.50. And very thin 2 summer rolls are 4.50. Again…2 thin slices of meat. Phở is ok. Needs to be simmered longer. Beef stew Phở is on the bland side… it’s OK if you tell them extra spicy. Rice and grilled chicken is bomb. Short rib rice dish is amazing also. Bubble and Thai tea are pretty good although expensive. The hoagies you get here aren’t really what you’d call authentic. Missing few crucial ingredients. All in all a quick fix for the convenient location.

Went to dinner here last night. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the shrimp spring roll to start which Came with a delicious savory peanut sauce(also try it with the Hoisoin sauce provided at the table). We then ordered two grilled pork phở, someone else at the table ordered pork fried rice, and then we ordered the general T’so Chicken chef’s special for the table. The food came out pipping hot just how I like it, and everything tasted delicious.

If you have read my other phở reviews, you’ll know I’ve become quite particular about my phở(FYI: Phoenix, AZ has the best phở I have ever tried!). My mother had heard about this restaurants from her clients. We always love trying new restaurants and decided to give the restaurant a try. I have to admit, it wasn’t bad for an East Coast phở restaurant. It came with the right amount of ingredients. The broth was light and clean and not loaded with MSG. The noodles and meat were decent — nothing to rant about. If I still lived in the area, I would come here to satiate a phở craving.

My boyfriend and I went here to have our first taste of vietnamese food and I am so glad we choose this place based off of good reviews. Our waitress was very helpful and nice, knowing that we weren’t very familiar with the food. The place itself is nothing special but felt cozy and not loud and overcrowded. Both of us got the P7, a pretty basic phở with rare steak, and it was delicious. I kept telling my boyfriend every 5 minutes that I could eat a bowl of the broth alone! It was very tasty, and although the add-ins weren’t needed to make it flavorful, it was nice to add to your liking. We also had the egg rolls as an app and a bubble tea after our meal — both were very nice bookends of the meal. Overall we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

The food here is delicious! My parents ordered the pork spring rolls and loved them. We also had the phở, which makes it worth heading over there. The staff is so friendly and eager to make suggestions so that you have the best dinner possible. I had the mango bubble tea to finish, and it was so good! Everything we ate for dinner was absolutely amazing, and the owner personally comes to every table to check on the guests. This is a place anyone in the area should be sure to try!

I usually have Viet closer to the city…1st time having this cuisine in central jersey. Didn’t expect much at 1st, but was pleasantly surprised at the freshness of the food. My wife had the Phở and I had the broken rice dish… both were great. The only drawback was the ambiance of the restaurant… but for the price and quality of the food, it was well worth it.

Great food and willing to work with you to customize. The owners are wonderful! The prices are slightly pricey and the portions are small/moderate so I didn’t have any leftovers. My dinner(chicken and broccoli) came with white rice but it would cost $ 6.95 to switch to pork fried rice so I stuck with white. Overall, great Vietnamese food and accommodating so I highly recommend.

Woah… did not see this one coming. Unassuming restaurant is REALLY good, I had B2, pasta and beef thing(picture attached) very good, fresh flavors. Tasted lighter than I expected but great portions. My sister has a really good Pad Thai, she always tries this dish at restaurant. Many misses, but this was a definite hit! Fried Rice was bomb, loved it. All four of us loved our respective dishes.
