Howell Academy of Dance School, a Jersey Shore Dance Studio in Howell New Jersey since 1984 and home of the award winning Diamond Dancers, offer classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-​hop, lyrical, pointe, musical theatre and breakdancing.

Howell Academy of Dance is a top National and International award winning school for many reasons. Howell Academy of Dance has been a leader in dance education since 1984. The director and staff have performed, directed and judged many events. The exceptional faculty of qualified teachers gives the students exposure to a wide range of experience, techniques and styles. Your child’s individual capabilities will be carefully observed and developed in a caring yet disciplined atmosphere.

The school’s mission is to provide students of all ages with professional training with skills they need to enjoy music and dance for a lifetime. They also have the opportunity to participate in a year-​end recital to show their family and friends their achievements. We currently have former students who are college and studio dance instructors, as well as professional performers.

For April Bamonte, dance has been an important part of her life since she was 4-​years-​old and for more than two decades she has been sharing that passion with younger dancers in her hometown.

As the owner of the Howell Academy of Dance, with locations on both sides of Route 9, Bamonte said as she settles into a new spot in the Howell Plaza she is proud of what she has accomplished. «I went from a girl that everyone thought would go nowhere, to an adult who owns three successful studios, employs amazing staff and trains beautiful students,» she said. «Because of my love of kids, I knew I had to make this work. We all face obstacles in our lives, but when we can stop and enjoy children’s happiness, in the end, that’s all that matters.»

Bamonte has a lot to be proud of in that time, from winning national championships to seeing students go on to tour professionally or teach dance at the college level.
