Usually I am a fan of this place. And while I still enjoy their food most of the time, this last time I went was just very awkward. The server was not focused, and was not charging us for stuff and then recharging us. Our fried pickles came out with our meal, and we asked for them to be before. His excuse was it took the same time to do the pickles as it did to make our potatoes. He never refilled our cups and took awhile to bring our cards back after paying. I normally get the loaded baked potato here and I did and it was good as always. But the pickles were extra greasy and just cold too. Which tells me that they were ready much sooner then when he brought them out. I don’t know. I love Willie’s but this last time sucked.

This is a great neighborhood spot. I’ve been coming here for 23 years now and can never say I’ve had a bad experience The wait staff is always nice and attentive, their pretty young, high school and early college(for the most part). The atmosphere is great. Its really relaxed, you feel like you know everyone. No need to dress up or even feel out of place if you are. They have a big menu with lots of things to choose from and they are more than willing to help you find something that you have a taste for. You can always substitute«this» for«that» with out a problem My favorite thing to get is a burger. All of their burgers are great. The meat isn’t too thin and after a few bites, the burger may begin to get a little soggy, just the way I like it. The pickles and peppers are great(even though) you cant really mess those up) and its a perfect spot for crawfish season. There is a little sand box and arcade area(2 — 3 games) for kids, so that’s never an issue. Bottom line, I love this place and would recommend it to anyone.

I’m gonna be honest, been here a couple of times and the food was not good. Just recently my spouse and had the fried shrimp. Yuck, bit into my shrimp and an abundance of oil dripped all over the place. Food was extremely greasy. Not my type of seafood.

Came here for lunch the other day for the first time. Excellent burger! I got the black and blue, good portion, good sweet potato fries and sweet tea. Service was great as well. Next time I am back in Houston WILL stop in here again.

First, you stand in line to order. I would’ve liked to know that so I’m forwarding the info along. Second, the food was not terribly priced until you actually tasted the food. Third, maybe my husband and I chose the two worst things in the menu. My chicken salad was literally pieces of chicken on lettuce. His peppercorn burger was just that. I guess we have to give them 5 stars for staying true to what the menu says. The food was nothing to write home about. It was edible and got us back on the road. Fourth, the staff was nice but not helpful at all. We saw our waitress twice the whole time we were there. We could’ve walked out without paying and no one would’ve noticed. This is probably a nice place to have some drinks(which all looked great from what I could see) and some appetizers. We won’t be back but hopefully someone else could have a good experience.

Came here for my father-in-law’s birthday, and I was a bit hesitant when he said an «icehouse». I am not a fan of dives, and I assumed this place would be, at best, mediocre. The entrance is a bit weird — you come up to the counter and place your order, where you’re given a receipt and your drinks, then you seat yourself. THEN a waiter comes and takes your receipt and serves you the rest of the evening. Like I said, a bit odd, but we had a super nice and capable waitress names Michelle, so I didn’t mind. As for the fare, they have a full bar and typical«American bar» food — burgers, chicken tenders, nachos, cheese sticks, fried pickles, a few soups and salads, etc. They do have boiled crawfish when it’s in season, which is a nice touch! The food was good, nothing fancy but hearty portions and tasty. What really made this place a great location for us, was that they have a giant sandbox on the patio for the kids to play in. With 4 Nephews under the age of 6, we were able to sit next to the sandbox and enjoy our margaritas while the kids dumped sand on each others heads. It was a pleasant time for both adults and children!

The set up is a little weird. You go in and«order» what you want. The guy gives you the drinks and a piece of paper with your order. Then you go sit yourself and a server comes up to you and asks for the paper with the order. It’s at this point that they actually tell the kitchen what you want and the order is officially placed. The food was mediocre. Nothing out of the ordinary. I also ordered a Margarita and wasn’t impressed. I recommend you go online and sign up for their mail list. They then email you a coupon for a free appetizer(up to $ 6). It’s up to you to tell the server that you have this coupon. He/she will write down your email on the back of your order and that’s it, free appetizer. The environment is a little loud. Paid about $ 40 for a dinner for 2. I probably won’t go again.

3÷7÷15 Sat. 7:00pm, there was a pretty big crowd, but was able to find a seat right away. The prices were reasonable. I guess now a days customer service is not such a high priority, but was better then that noodle place I visted earlier that day. My food and dessert came out quicker than my second margarita which I was hoping to enjoy with my crawfish… over all not too bad the crawfish were good and the margarita was excellent, oh and not to mention the willy wonka… delicious and piping hot.

Went to Willie’s on 2÷12÷15 with a party of 12 the service was very slow, food was cold and forgotten. I complained to the Manager who never follow up to apologize. Not the place it used to be! Never again.

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember! Anyone who grew up around these parts would agree, Willie’s is the go-to place for our families! The staff is always on point, the margaritas aren’t bad, the food is so darn good! The kids menu is a great selection and perfect for those picky eaters. Don’t even get me started on crawfish season!

First time here. The staff had potential to be great but were not as attentive as they could have been, seem to lack hospitality. The food was good. The cooks are not shy with their spices. I had the grilled shrimp po’boy. It was filled with fresh lettuce and tomatoes and well seasoned shrimp. It did lack a creamy spicy sauce. My daughters had the tortilla soup. That was perfect with a nice kick. If the customer service were better I’d come back.

Attended the Fat Tuesday celebration last night and it was insane! Live band and lots of fun. The frozen drinks were rather weak but when I switched it to on the rocks, definitely improved. I had the crawfish as well. Seasoned very well… almost overly so and as it is the start of the season, the crawfish were extremely small. The parking was BANANAS. I parked extremely far away but it could have been due to the celebration. Also, come to Fat Tuesday early here. The fire marshal was in full effect last night and delayed entry for about a half hour because they were at capacity.

I’ve never been a big fan of Willie’s in general — have always felt that everything I ordered there was just… meh. Not bad, but simply totally uncompelling. However, we hit the 290 @ Jones location recently with a large group, and Willie’s totally exceeded my expectations. Granted, we’re talking burgers, fries, etc., not beef bourguignon — but everything was very good. Service was also excellent, despite our large party. Willie’s(at least this location) has earned a reprieve from me…

I would give Willie’s Grill and Icehouse 2 to 3 stars based on the food but the service was fantastic. One of our group wasn’t completely happy with his meal and the manager came over to ask if there was anything he could do to make the situation right… within two minutes of the comment!

My family and I usually dine here about once a month! I usually get the swiss and mushroom turkey burger and order them with their sweet potato fries! I absolutely love, love, love their Sweet Potato fries! The T-burger is always juicy, never too lean. The SP fries are sweet, crisp, and hearty! The staff is alway laid back and friendly! Service is quick and we love the fact you have a choice to eat inside or outside! Def a fav of mine!

I was starving and on my way to the grocery store, which is never a good situation. I thought I’d stop in for a quick bite. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with MASHEDPOTATOES. The price listed on the menu is fair for what I ordered. What arrived at the table is NOT what I expected. The Chicken Fried Chicken was nothing to brag about and the«potatoes» were * are you sitting down?* INSTANT. I couldn’t believe my eyes. They even looked fake. They were a yellowish –beige color and a rough texture. I knew I was right, so of course I had to taste them. Sure enough, I was right! I told the server that they were unacceptable. The cook came over and proudly stated«yes, they are instant». I don’t know about you, but I don’t eat instant potatoes or anything else for that matter. I most certainly will not patronize an establishment that serves sub-par trash.

Usually this place is great, last week it as not so great! The waiter was slow, the food was not good at all. We ordered a variety of food and the only thing any of us enjoyed was the french fries! Come on, really? Yup. I will return but in hopes of a better day.

I came by this place for lunch and the place was packed. The line was long but it moved pretty fast. The system is pretty simple. You go up to the cashier, you place your order, and they give you a ticket. You go and sit at your table, a waitstaff then will come and pick up your ticket, confirm your order, and then place the order for you. All of these took me probably about five minutes. Even though the place was packed, there were plenty of tables available. I decided to sit out in the patio because it was a pretty day. Our waiter came to our table within one minute of us sitting down and quick to check on us for drinks or whatever other needs we had. The food itself was just average. Nothing to brag about. But the portion is pretty big. I had a regular bacon cheeseburger with fries. My friend had some chicken tenders with fries. Even though I didn’t try any of the tenders, he claimed that Willie’s chicken tenders are the best he’s had. One thing that I do recommend though, ask for extra seasoning for your french fries. It’s sodium-filled goodness! My friend said the he’d usually ask for a small container for the seasoning and he’d take some home so he could use it when he cooks. His quick recipe: fish marinated with some Italian dressing for 15 minutes and then sprinkle Willie’s seasoning and put it on the grill. You tell me how that taste. I might try it with chicken.

Good chicken gumbo! I like the vibe here. It’s casual and authentic, and I think so many restaurants are lacking that nowadays. Order at the counter, go find a seat under the neon lights, and wait to dig in to your fried pickles or po-boy. I’d love to come back and try more of their menu.
