WB Liquors & Wine

WB Liquors 51 is Costco’s response to antiquated and dumb Texas liquor laws. WB Liquors 51 isn’t affiliated with Costco through any corporate form, but Costco partners with the chain and outfits them with a space connected to Costco in order to offer liquor to customers seeking the hard stuff.
As such, this place doesn’t offer any of the Kirkland brand spirits, you’ll have to go to Louisiana for that. However, the prices on liquor, beer, and wine are pretty darn amazing, and WB does carry a fair selection of fancy pants aged scotches. Sure, the selection may not be as vast as Spec’s and most of the liquor is available only through handle/​750ml size (although premium liquor like Patron and Grey Goose is available in a variety of sizes), but it was more than adequate for us when we were outfitting our wedding bar setup. With regards to those amazing prices, everything is at least a few dollars cheaper than what’s listed at Spec’s, which can be significant when you’re purchasing massive volumes of booze.
Rick was amazingly helpful, assisting us in our selection of the necessary vodka, whiskey, gin, rum, beer, white wine, sparkling white wine, and red wine. He thoughtfully offered his opinion on potential candidates and chimed in tips on cost savings, it was like the opposite of being aggressively upsold.
You can further increase your cost efficiency by coordinating purchases through sales manager (I think?) in order to receive a discount on large orders. And in the case of unopened leftovers (be sure to keep beers and wine out of sunlight), we were able to refund it all without any hassle.
Excellent experience at WB Liquors 51, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to buy in bulk for a special event or well, any event or day of the week!

WB Liquors 51 aka Costco Liquor:
Hours are comparable to Specs. The prices are as well (if something is on sale see: $XX.97, then it can actually beat Specs by a few dollars even with the 5% cash transaction discount). The selection isn’t as great obviously, but the staff their are fine to work with and are helpful if you have general questions.
I think they have a return policy that doesn’t have a restocking fee as well so that’s always nice? Lots of gift sets during the holiday season so you can buy that college buddy of yours a gift set of their favorite booze!
