****David, the former owner of Village Automotive, has now gone to work
over on Witte. The property on Blalock was apparently bought by European Legacy, a shop across the street.
David is as straightforward as they come and has been in the business a long time. I recently took my 2001 Honda Accord in because it was leaking oil (it has 260k mi). David looked at it, diagnosed it, and told me that the cost to fix wouldn’t be worthwhile given the car’s value. He suggested I just keep adding oil to the engine as needed and changing it at regular intervals. I tried to pay him for his time, but he wouldn’t take any money.

David and his crew have kept my 12-​year-​old Saturn in top shape for 4 years now. With what now passes for an elderly car, i’m particularly appreciative of his absolute honesty and commitment to service.
Although I’m moving to Austin, i’m seriously considering coming back for service.

David is amazing. Anytime I have an issue with my car, I can usually bring it in the next day. I’ve been car shopping, and he will look at the car before I buy it to make sure it’s good to go! I highly recommend David. My family has been using him for years. I had a car that needed a lot of engine work done, mostly labor– which is where he would make money. He said it wouldn’t be to my benefit to get it fixed bc of the high mileage and how old it was! Seriously, an honest mechanic. Won’t go anywhere else. Even have my boyfriend going here now!

David was recommended by a friend of mine that has been going there for many years. I was very pleased with his knowledge and service. I had several things done and they only had my vehicle for a day.
He called with an estimate and clearly stated what I needed and what I didn’t as well as what could wait until a later date to be repaired. This is very nice considering I’ve had garages suggest work in an estimate only to find out it is not necessary when a second estimate is given by another garage.
I will continue to take my Mazda5 here and highly recommend Village Automotive to others.

Great, trustworthy place owned by David. It’s right across the street from my office so I always get my oil changes here. It may look like a decrepit place but the service is fast and good. Pricing is also fair with synthetic oil for $ 43 total.
