I attempted to book a dive for my boyfriends birthday. My mom called them for me. She said they would not take a check and I couldn’t come pick up the gift certificates. The lady told my mom that weekend was booked but they had availabilities for the following. And not to worry cause that weekend was still 2 weeks away an assured us the gift card would be there in time. My mom also pointed out she seemed really confused and old school, although sweet. Well… the date steadily approached and I never got a certificate. I ended up calling them today verifying our spots on the boat. Only to be told they’re apologies but I never gave them a date I wanted to go on the dive. Which. is false because she even said we would get our certificate in time. Long story short she said we would get a refund but she didn’t know how to issue one. I wasn’t mean on the phone but how the problem got solved didn’t sit with me right. so I emailed them and got a really aggressive email back. I will never refer them to anyone. :(I will copy and paste our email exchange was so excited for our scheduled dive trip on 8÷23÷2014 but unfortunately, upon talking to a lady that we had scheduled with we had learned our names were never put down. I’m not sure it is she who would be reading this but this was not handled as well as it could have been handled. Our date was in fact, discussed but she failed to put it down. After telling my mother not to fret about receiving our gift cards because we «still have 2 weeks which is plenty of time» and cashing our check. it took me calling to find out this trip is a no go. She told me I can come any other time I like but I took off this Saturday so that I can join this trip. Since i work weekends. I only told her that 3x and she kept repeating the same thing. I am a avid diver in this community and was looking forward to spreading the word on this dive trip that I hoped would be successful, instead we will not be getting our money back apparently, and I will be telling divers not to go through this charter because they are incompetent in booking trips but they will gladly take your money! I have been involved in the diving business for well over 15 years and have an excellent reputation among the«diving community» and with many of the dive shops that I work with. We try our very best to please all of our valued customers but not unlike any business, miscommunications can at times have unfortunate results. Even in your recent e-mail you make a glaring misstatement when you incorrectly said: «we will not be getting our money back». In fact your mother’s refund check will be in the tomorrow’s mail. My wife«the lady» you spoke of is a very ethical and honest person and would never cheat any one the way you have suggested and nor would I. To be clear, you and or your mother will get a full refund for this misunderstanding but if you feel the need to slander me or my business due to a human honest mistake that you and or your mother are also a part of, have at it. Based on the lack of character you have demonstrated in your unwarranted threat to slander my business, I would appreciate it if you would simply take your business else where. Sincerely, Capt.
