Always a great place to visit. Very friendly staff and a huge selection on some of the best cigars in town! Not full of snobs, so a very relaxing place.

My friends and I are pretty regular cigar smokers, so when I moved to west Houston we were a little worried we’d have trouble finding a decent cigar shop right off the bat. We picked Tobacco Habana randomly from a search of shops nearby and were pleasantly surprised.
Not only was the guy working there incredibly friendly but also very knowledgeable. I told him about what I usually smoked and what I was in the mood for that particular evening and he quickly helped me find a cigar that turned out to be exactly what I had in mind.
I really like that the shop is smaller in scale and that the selection is comprehensive but not overwhelming. I really recommend this shop for anyone who is new to smoking and wants a little direction and advice when picking out cigars.

This is my spot. I am one of the regulars so need I say more? I love the place. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly as well as the ambiance.

The guys who run this shop not only know their stuff, but care about their regular customers. If their is something you want they’ll go out of their way to try to get it for you. The stock they have is pretty large and well-​rounded. They’ve got everything from the CAO to Opus X Lost City. Their selection of lighters and cutters is extensive (though, they could carry more Xikar than they do). Unlike most cigar shops in Houston they’re open late (the close between 8pm & 10pm depending on the night).
When you first enter the place it’s a bit intimidating with all of the regulars sitting around watching TV or arguing (loudly) over world politics. Buy a cigar, grab a free cup of coffee and join in the conversation. The regulars are amount the most friendly at any cigar shop. Sometimes there are even game of chess or backgammon late in the evening.
The only bad part about this store is it’s location, but everything else about this place is great.

I’m a man of wide-​ranging vices. Some I’m proud of, and others not so. One particular vice that can go either way for me is one that I consider my way of flipping off the P.C. anti-​smoking, health-​nut populace, and that is the fine delights of smoking a good cigar.
So where can a man — or even women after my own heart — find a decent stogie, a virtual middle digit, to exude my social indifference toward, yet indulge in my own little piece of heaven? Where else but a Tobacco Habana that is only a few doors down from Bedrock City Comics (another vice from which I will not renounce nor go into detail).
The moment you walk inside the scent of cigar smoke welcomes you like the way mom’s home cooking would. It never fails that the three to four seats inside the store are always occupied by gentlemen either my age or older, enjoying a range of cigars from the mild to the stout, mediums to a Churchill. You may even find, as I have, the clerk himself sampling one behind the register. Now that says a lot about their inventory — or about the person — when nobody can wait to go home and light ‘em.
Tobacco Habana has a good range of cigar brand names. My favorites thus far (and my regular choices since I am a creature of habit) are the H. Upmann’s, Monte Cristo’s, and La Libertad’s. If you’re new to the fine art of annoying your uppity neighbor with carcinogenic goodness, I recommend speaking to the clerk and describe how you want your poison: smooth, bold, or robust; and he’ll assist you with options. Even if you don’t smoke cigars, but know somebody who does, the clerk (whom, I’m sorry, I never seem to know his name) will help with recommendations.
The only character flaw that I see with the store is the manner in which they rotate their stock. If I discover a new brand that I really like on the south wall of the humidor, chances are upon my next visit, it was moved elsewhere. My recommendation: if you enjoyed the cigar you experimented with, and are bad with names, save the label, and bring it with you… just in case. The clerk will help you locate it.
I’m usually there to pick up my hand-​rolled provocations once or twice a month; and I never leave empty-​handed — much to the environment’s annoyance. So if you smell smoke along Westheimer, and your eyes are watering, chances are it’s not because of the endless chain of automobiles along the street.

Thanks to Sam V. and his Downing Street UYE event about a month ago, I now have another vice… cigars. So I popped into Habana Cigars to buy some Christmas presents for others and a few cigars for my own enjoyment. I completely trusted the salesman, and asked him to fill a couple of boxes with medium cigars that a connoisseur and a novice would enjoy. So far, everyone has enjoyed his choices, including me! Havana is in a seedy little strip mall on Westheimer (but, what isn’t really?). He made great choices from his humidor and gave me a bulk discount. I would recommend giving it a try.
