Three Brothers Bakery

Tried the Kingscake cheesecake which was really good. Would have bought more but it was kind of expensive for a whole cheesecake.

Love this bakery. My daughter lives in Houston, and I wanted to find a place that could do a surprise cake for her. They did a gorgeous job — an adorable llama to celebrate her upcoming trip to Peru — and delivered it exactly when they said they would. Their manager, Brandon, was such a pleasure with whom to deal. Head and shoulders above all the other bakeries in the Houston area when it came to customer service. I only wish I was there to try the cake — it looks amazing!

We got the cake for my cousins baby shower from here. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PRESENTATION. Even after showing them the picture and emailing it to them, they ruined the design completely. When we went to pick the cake up, they had the design on the top of the cake box but they still managed to mess it up. If you can’t do it, at least inform your customers on time. On top of that, they spelled my cousins name wrong. How can you mess that up?!?
As a courtesy, they refunded some of the money but it wasn’t about the money, it’s about my cousins special day. The cake tasted pretty good but on social occasions like baby showers, the presentation and design matters a lot. I don’t recommend this place for customized cakes.

This place is the bomb. Or maybe I just like pastries way too much. Either way, 4 stars.
Let’s see, I got: chocolate croissant, like 3 cake balls, a Reese’s cupcake, an almond stick, and a black and white cookie. I almost got like… 15 more things because the selection at this place is insane. Like almost anything you could ask for, they probably have it.
The cake balls were good, the Reese’s cupcake was honestly really good, side note I’m sad I didn’t try the German chocolate cupcake or the pecan chocolate bar thing, the almond stick I really liked (even though my girlfriend did not), and the chocolate croissant and black and white cookie were just a little disappointing. If you’ve been to fricanos deli in Austin, the black and white cookie here looks like theirs but isn’t as good. The croissant just didn’t really do much for me, even though I go ape for chocolate croissants. So yeah, brought down a star by those two but otherwise incredible in terms of selection and pretty good execution, especially considering how much variety there is.

Great kosher bakery.
Layer cake is the best. Hamentashen and black and white cookies are first class too.
As per Seinfeld, babka is a bit inferior.

I usually come by this location on the way home from work, for a monthly splurge, which is my least favorite location due to the unfriendly behavior. I stood waiting and another person was waited on who just walked in. Humm. Anyway i was going to ordered a slice of cake but the price appeared to be a little higher today. I asked to check cause there usually alittle cheaper. He said they have been 6.95 for years. I knew better.
I decided on the chocolate specialty cupcake which was a little more but was very pretty. Recieved from the unfriendly young guy and ugh… if i wasnt so far away i would have returned. The cake was hard and cold and dry. Underneath the ganache was a globs of hard icing. Very little hard cake. Just toooo much. I think i will try my splurge elsewhere our drive to another location.

I’ve picked up treats here a few times and recently got my daughter’s first birthday cake from them. I LOVE the black and white cookies! They’re the best I’ve ever had. I also really like the cream cheese brownies. The chocolate chip cookies are also great. They make a great cappuccino too.
I wanted a round cake for my daughter and had a specific design in mind. The round cakes are WAY more expensive. Not quite sure why, but I ended up going with a half sheet cake because we had a lot of people coming. I was able to email them a link to a picture I wanted, and they matched it well. The colors were perfect. The cake is rich and moist. There was a lot of frosting, and it was HEAVY to pick up. But it was a perfect cake, and everyone loved it.

I had the BEST cake for my birthday from here!!! Oh my gosh, best cake I’ve ever had!
I came here for breakfast another time too and it was so good! Coconut custard and kolaches are a must. Yum yum!
Only warning is that they are a tad on the slow side but it’s well worth the wait.

I went here on a Saturday night around 8 PM craving something sweet.
There was hardly anyone there, I thought it was closed!
I am so used to bakery’s closing early, I was expecting a sparse variety of items, but they had a ton to choose from!
We ended up getting a carrot cupcake and snicker doodle cupcake.
They were so rich and good! It was a very clean! I hope we had a weird night and more people go there in the evenings so I can return and do that again!
After reading the other Unilocal reviews I really want to try their coffee. Will be returning soon!

I really like this bakery. I’ve come here a couple times for breakfast — some of the best kolaches in the area. Coffee is excellent, I recommend trying one of their lattes.
They make beautiful cakes and pastries. Their outdoor patio is nice and dog friendly. Shared parking lot with a couple other business and street parking is available.
My only complaint is the décor is a little odd. It doesn’t really feel warm and inviting that goes along with their delicious pastries and coffee.

Went back again and had a chocolate cupcake… amazing. Décor is nice and staff is always great.

On a recent trip to 3 Brothers Bakery, I went ahead and ordered a bunch of different, beautiful cupcakes. Because I truly believe in doing things for the sake of research, I tried three of these for Second Breakfast (help.) so I could report back to you. The three I chose were lemon, red velvet, and strawberry.
For research!
Let’s talk about the lemon cupcake first:
While I enjoyed all of the cupcakes, the lemon cupcake was probably my least favorite of the three, and not because it was bad! It was light, and incredibly sweet — I’m more of a salty toothed person — so my favoring the other less-​sweet cupcakes should come as no surprise. This cupcake is probably more appropriate for someone who has more of a sweet tooth. I didn’t actually taste much lemon because of how sweet it was, and it was not as complex as the other two. However, the lemon cupcake was fluffy and definitely the lightest of the three, so you could have two and really it’d be like having one, which we are all in favor of, right? Win/​win!
Now it’s time to talk about the red velvet cupcake.
I love anything red velvet. Red velvet cake, red velvet cookies, red velvet pants, you name it. So I definitely enjoyed the red velvet cupcake from 3 Brothers Bakery. It was decadent, smooth, and indulgent. The heartiest of the three cupcakes, it was a little heavy for Second Breakfast, but probably more befitting a post-​dinner treat (you know. when it’s *probably* a more appropriate time to eat dessert.). The cream cheese frosting on top was thick, creamy, and not overly sweet, which gets an A+ from me!
Okay, let’s talk about the strawberry cupcake now:
This. was. my. FAVORITE. When I lived in New York there was a little bakery in Astoria called Martha’s Country Bakery. Their cupcakes were divine, and it was there that I developed my love of strawberry cupcakes. So imagine my delight when I took a bite of the strawberry cupcake from 3 Brothers and absolutely adored it! The cupcake was moist (I know, you hate that word, SORRY.), wonderfully light, and popping with a playful strawberry flavor. I think there was even some sort of strawberry jelly inside, so dessert within a dessert, yay!
3 Brothers Bakery is a friendly and inviting shop, with a beautiful array of desserts and baked goods. While I’m not an every-​day cupcake consumer, I did enjoy my experience there, and I foresee going back. So stop in sometime and try a cupcake! Or you can try a little bit of three different ones like me!

Tl;dr — this is an amazing little bakery that has a large DOG FRIENDLY patio and free wifi! Good, cheap coffee and snacks make it the perfect place for studying or remote work.
I almost hesitate to write this review because I kind of want this place to be a secret… but alas, I feel I must proclaim its greatness to the world.
This little family owned bakery has been around for a long time, but they’ve expanded over the years and now have 3 locations. I think this location on Washington is fairly new.
I have driven by it so many times, but it’s set slightly off the main road so it’s not super visible. I didn’t discover it until recently.
It is a bakery, so they obviously do all kinds of cakes and sweets. I first came here to pick up a sugar free cheesecake for my mom’s birthday. While I didn’t actually eat any of it myself, everyone said it tasted amazing and they couldn’t tell it was sugar free.
While I was there picking up the cheesecake, I noticed they have a little coffee bar and some seating inside as well as a pretty large, enclosed patio.
I have a dog, and I work from home, so I’m always looking for dog friendly places that offer wifi so I can come work with my pooch and enjoy some coffee and snacks.
I just have to say, this place is awesome for just that! The patio is really big (and fully enclosed) and is equipped with tables with umbrellas as well as wooden benches with a strong cable running underneath, complete with carabiners to attach your dog’s leash, water bowls, and even plenty of covered power outlets to plug in your laptop! It’s a digital nomad’s dream come true!
The wifi is also superior to most of the other coffee shops I frequent, and did I mention how clean and tidy the whole place is?
I was the only one out there the entire time, which is nice for privacy, but I wouldn’t be opposed to sharing the space with a few other quiet workers and pooches.
I purchased a cold-​brew iced coffee with almond milk and a sausage kolache to munch on while I worked. It was all less than $ 4 and quite delicious! They also have bagels and all kinds of cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets– but don’t go there expecting a full meal.
Overall, this place sells tasty sweets and good coffee. It is a great place to come and work– and being your dog! It’s a local, family owned place so I highly recommend you come check them out and support their business!

I ordered a friend’s custom cake here (lemon cake with blueberry filling and buttercream frosting) and it was SO DELICIOUS. It received rave reviews from everyone who tried it.
I have also gotten a variety of their baked goods here on the several trips I’ve made, and everything I’ve gotten has been good. The cupcakes are all moist and flavorful — my personal favorite was the Snickerdoodle, but the Carrot Cake, Reese’s, and Oreo Cookie are also amazing. The big decorated sugar cookies are always perfectly soft and flavorful. The hamentaschen (I think I’m spelling that right?) are one of my favorite things here — I’ve had a variety of the fruit filling flavors as well as the chocolate, and in my opinion the fruit filling is far better than anything else, in particular the raspberry flavor.
If you are a frosting fanatic (I could literally eat it by the spoonful) this place is the place for you. They have the BEST frosting of anyplace I’ve tried. This makes a huge difference to me when it comes to cupcakes — I’ve never been a fan of places like Crave and Sprinkles because their frosting frankly sucks. 3 Brothers is LEGIT!

I will be back often! When we walked in we were excited that there was no one else in the store so we could take our time looking and drooling at the treats. Our kids immediately zoomed into the cupcakes that were the perfect size for them. The food coloring frosting and toy on top had nothing to do with it, I’m sure. Haha
My husband couldn’t decide on which of huge cupcakes he wanted so he bought two, the hostess looking cupcake and the Reese’s cupcake. Both were amazing, but the Reese’s one was both of our favorite, hands down.
I had the delight to try the brownie. Oh my gosh! The best brownie I’ve ever had in my life! It’s more fudge than brownie.
I cannot wait to come back and try the many other desserts and breads offered.

We happily stumbled upon this bakery around 8:30/9pm on a Saturday and were super excited for some sweet treats post-​dinner. I ordered an oreo cupcake and it wasn’t near as delicious as oreo flavored items usually are. I feel that what was missing was the crunchy-​crunch of an oreo cookie crust.
There was ample seating, and a variety of people visiting the shop from ages negative ten to full-​fledged adult walked in and ordered sweets during our 30 minute visit. Coffee, espresso and non-​caffeinated beverages were available for purchases at a bar but what was curious was there were no bar stools for customers to sit upon and enjoy their drinks at the bar.
I’d stop by again to continue sampling through the sweets, there were so many delicious-​looking items to select and with the medium-​deliciousness of my oreo cupcake, I’d like to have a redo and find something that suites my tastes.

This bakery just happened to be sitting near the restaurant a couple friends and I went to for dinner. We saw people do tinuouslt going on and out of the bakery and thought dessert was in order.
This bakery come to find out, has been in the neighborhood for quite some time. There were great selections of cookies, cakes, pastries, etc. Coffee drinks were available for purchase as well.
The staff was great and put up with my friends and I as we dive into our 10 year old selves who can’t make a decision on sprinkles or jelly beans. But I ordered a 7 layer mocha cake slice (that lasted for 3 dessert servings), my friends got a cream puff and Oreo cupcake. All of the items were tasty and also beautifully built.
I want to come back here during a morning on a weekend to check out the fresh baked breads (i love a good challah).

Three Brothers is a great place for a date or to order a cake for a special event. We have done both. I am going to give them five stars today and here’s why:
Star 1: First visit– we had a red velvet and banana cupcake with coffee. The cake was moist and the icing sweet (a little sweet for me, but I’m not complaining). Coffee was delish!
Star 2: On the first visit we also ordered a cake for my in-​laws’ anniversary. We ordered a white on white cake with pearls of two colors and a ‘Happy Anniversary’ tag on top. The ordering process was easy and they answered all our questions happily.
Star 3: The cake was 25 dollars, available when they said it would be, cake was moist, again, icing was pure sugar (but NO ONE complained haha). My mother-​in-​law was thrilled and helped herself to a big piece.
Star 4: This place has plenty of parking, which can be a nightmare on Washington sometimes.
Star 5: Three Brothers is clean and spacious and new and wonderful. The atmosphere is my favorite because it feels sterile, yet warm.
I would recommend Three Brothers to anyone and I am glad to have a bakery in town that I can trust for special occasions.

As my spouse and I pulled into the parking lot, he remembered purchasing pastries. He said, «This is the place I purchased those nasty donuts and kolaches.» All I could do is laugh because I remember him bringing me breakfast and it was so bad I asked him, «you paid for this?» We never returned, so much for breakfast in bed, but my husband made a good effort.
I saw the cake reviews and figured the cake will be better than their pastries. I’m a simple gal, so I purchased a vanilla cupcake and my husband ordered the snickers cupcake. My husband eats anything, and after the first bite of snickers cupcake, he threw it back in the box and threw it away.
Pros; taste fresh, nice presentation for each flavor, size, and price.
Cons: not enough cake flavors offered considering its a bakery (guess I’m used to sprinkles), and the texture.
The texture reminded me of the frozen pre-​made cake walmart and sams use for their cakes. The cake was not soft or flaky, which seemed really odd. This place is definitely a step up from sprinkles, crave and all of those pop up, overpriced cupcake shops.
I would return for vanilla cake, but I’m still on a quest to find the best cake in houston and have yet to find it. This place is really a 3.5 star because of the texture, but overall flavor and presentation is good.

The first time I came here, I was mostly impressed. Most times since then miss the mark. There’s one woman who’s always there. She’s pleasant enough. The other staff is different every time. She always has to go over minor details with them.
Today I got a bran muffin. It was warmed, which I didn’t want. The gal kept trying to give me a small coffee, even though I ordered a medium. Then she forgot to charge me for the muffin. Then when I got my coffee, the guy wanted to make a small. He made the medium but only re-​added the amount of flavoring from the small. I hadn’t previously realized that the coffee is just ok. He also may have made it with regular milk, instead of soy. Bleh. The bran muffin ended up being disappointing. It tasted like sweetened cardboard. Got an entirely different pastry the other day that was the same — some pecan croissant, dry and too dense.
Overall, I don’t know what to think. There’s another coffee shop down the street that I’ll probably start going to instead. Bummer. I really wanted to root for this local favorite.
