Edit… Just read in the Houston Eater that State Bar is closing on Saturday (5÷31÷14). So go experience the balcony while you can.
A charming spot. A long U shaped wood bar, a lounge area with couches, and a great balcony. The one bartender was working her but off, and is a sweet heart. Though she was a little overwhelmed, and needed some more help.
Some Karbach and Saint Arnold on tap, always a good thing. A pretty good Scotch selection, and a handful of specialty cocktails. They have a small snack menu, but the kitchen is not open on a Saturday, which I don’t get and frankly a little annoying. Anyway, a good time, and that balcony is second to only Captain Foxheart in the downtown area.
