The Dump

Came here to check out the «sale» as advertised on tv. I think we drove 45 mins to come to this place as it is FAR from my house. Unfortunately, that was a waste. This place had no sale. and everything that says it’s on sale is like 50% over the regular price of somewhere else. What a sad disappointment. There were some items I would put in my home but I would expect higher quality items for the price they are selling for. just my opinion.

This customer service here could really use some improvement. From shopping in the store, to the delivery and redelivery I was disappointed.
In the store, a sales rep begged me to wait for her to help me as she wrapped up with another customer. I expressed I was on a time crunch but agreed to wait. I noticed her customer had left and when i approached her, she seemed agitated and told me she was busy assisting her customer. So i found a different rep to help me where i purchased several items of furniture.
When the time came for delivery, the men left with a table clearly assembled incorrectly and took the instructions after i asked them to leave them. I called customer service who called the drivers who told the CS rep that he left the instructions on my couch (that i dont have) and he assembled the table correctly. (Note: the top & base weren’t even aligned.)
After some back and forth with customer service that included snappy attitudes from other connecting reps, they reconciled the issue by having a new table delivered and assembled 2 days later (because it would take their technician 3 weeks to come fix the one i had.) The 2^nd delivery group attempted to mix and match pieces from the old and new after i repeatedly asked that the whole table would be new. In the end, they got it right.
I’m very happy to have the issue reconciled, but the customer service needs a little help.

I have been looking for furniture & have purchased almost everything from Costco and
so far. Someone told me about The Dump and I read the great reviews on Unilocal,so I went. I primarily looked at living room and bedroom furniture, but also looked at accent pieces & a couple dining sets. I found that the prices were about the same as other retailers and the quality did not stand out. There were two bedroom sets I liked: 1) was damaged and 2) was about $ 1000 more than a similar set at
. It does not look like I will return, but am happy that so many others found great deals here!

Great experience from the moment we walked in the door through delivery of our furniture. There was no high-​pressure sales. We were greeted and allowed to browse the store uninterrupted. We had some questions about a couple of pieces and the salesman answered them for us and help us pair up the items for the best price. Would definitely shop again.

It is a scam. Do not shop there. I went to return a mattress pad which I did not know they had already returned incorrectly with a bed that I canceled within 12 hours of my purchase AND charged me a restocking fee when the person on the phone told us it hadn’t even left the shelf! Talk about doing right by the customer?! Lowsy service. If you want to get cheap furniture and the worst service, go for it. Furniture is always difficult to buy, this store does not work with their customers AT ALL. I would suggest to check your receipts and make sure it’s 100% what you want or you going to get pushed into «a deal» that you don’t actually want! The store manager YELLED at me that they were «clear with their policy of charging the restocking fee» and then when I asked him to do right by the customer, and return the mattress pad that they INCORRECTLY returned bc it was in my possession, he refused. When I told him it was the worst customer service I had seen in years, I’ve worked retail. The store manager charged at me and said «we are done here». I am 5’5 and he was well over 6ft. Aside from not returning the merchandise, the store manager came off physically aggressive. There was no reason for him to push towards me as I voluntarily walked out, and without my receipt!
Mind you, I drove 30 minutes to return an item that they never told me over the phone that I was reimbursed for NOR is it «in their policy» for the customer to deliver returned merchandise to the store. I could have just kept it for for all they knew but the store manager threatened to physically restrain me from leaving the store… I should also note that I am under 135 lb woman in early 20s… There is never an excuse for a man to physical or verbally threaten when all I asked was for the dump to DO RIGHT by your customers!!!
Bottom line, the dump does not do right by the customer. They have terrible staff and service. Go to the world market or shop full price, Craigslist or online. It is not worth it at all!

No. I will never shop here again. This retailer requires you provide all personal information (address, phone, email) input into their system database before allowing you to make a credit card purchase. Not having it delivered? Doesn’t matter. Have ID? Doesn’t matter. There system isn’t set up for you to just buy your product. It’s not for «security» purposes either. That’s total bs. No other retailer requires me to store my address with them as a security measure to use my credit card.
I use the card at Target and they don’t require me to store my address and phone number in their system. Let me think… Kroger, gas stations, Galleria Retail Stores, Macy’s, Dillard’s… I’ve used my credit card all over the world and, while I have been asked for ID, I have NEVER been required to store my personal information in the store database before Starbucks would sell me a latte, or Best Buy would sell me a TV.
NEVER GOING BACK.

Great designer furniture at low prices.

I bought a chesterfield sofa from The Dump after pricing out a similar couch at Rooms to Go. We ended up paying a little more, but as Kenna, our wonderful sales lady put it, «we are getting much higher quality.» We felt pretty good about the deal and the service considering the sticker said 4400 and the price was 1198 as an advertised special. We also wanted a one of a kind table from the clearance section, but it was a little big once we measures it out. I’d come back

My friend mentioned going here and I was thinking an actual dump, where people discard their used items and you get to go find something you like for cheap. No. this is an actual furniture store. The inside feels and smells anything but clean and inviting though. The furniture. forget it! I don’t think I saw anything cheaper than ~$ 2K! They should totally reconsider the name of this place. It is not cheap and it’s really misleading for what you would think this place is. There isn’t a lot of selection of items in terms of color, styles, etc either. I would totally recommend other places unless you’re looking for a warehouse of overpriced items.

My first trip to The Dump was a total success. I had been researching living room furniture for weeks and found everything I wanted and more at The Dump. I knew how much a NICE leather couch was going to cost me at all of the leading furniture stores in Houston (Star, Gallery, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Town and Country…) I got an American made set here for less than I thought I would pay. I also ended up getting several awesome, «one of a kind» accent pieces (sofa table, media console).
I’ve seen a few complaints about sales people at The Dump. I could not have had a better experience with the salesperson I had. Her name was Faith and she was great. Not pushy, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. I wanted to see how a particular sofa table would look with the couch I was purchasing, so she had an employee move it on over. She said they have moved whole rooms around for customers before :)
I think a lot of people go to the dump looking for «wal-​mart» pricing. That’s not what the Dump is. From my experience, it’s quality furniture for somewhat less than you would pay at the other nicer stores. The selection was great and they had some awesome unique pieces. My furniture will be delivered tomorrow and I’m hoping for a great experience with that as well. Only time will tell, but as of right now, I will shop there for more furniture when I need it :)

Prices were really good. The shining star here is the rugs. Really beautiful and so many choices, all colors and sizes. The staff was kind of hit or miss. Some were nice and some were obnoxious. After we purchased some rugs I was sitting on a couch waiting for delivery and I watched some bigger dude literally yelling at a smaller Asian dude. The bigger dude (I’m guessing a manager) yelled at him and then when the smaller guy was explaining he put his hand out and walked away. yikes! Not appropriate for the customers to see and unfortunate for the guy getting yelled at in public! It was pretty bad and it stressed me out enough for both of us!

Went to Gallery Furniture first but ended up buying here. No free food or gimmicks but better pricing for sure. We will be back.

Beware what you see in store is not what you get. They have no quality control, they do not inspect what they load on truck for delivery. I purchase 2 different sofa sets. The first one was not assembled corrected. The second one had defective leather on back of seat. This company suck beware there is a reason they call it the dump. I will never buy from this place again.

The sales people are nice, not too aggressive. But I would agree with other reviews. It is super overpriced. Not at all what I thought it was based on how they advertise.

I got THE BEST SERVICE from a salesperson named PHILIP. They have medium to high end rustic furniture and competitive prices. I got my furniture the same weekend and in perfect condition. Definitely ask for PHILIP, he knows his stuff.

Ok I am huge fan of The Dump now!
The sales associate was very patient with us (the hubbs and I were very indecisive.) Prices were fair, the delivery guys were professional and efficienct and the furniture was delivered in perfect condition! I cant complain! Looking forward to getting dumped again!

Come here if you want to find great deals on good quality furniture. I had been looking for a media console for a really long time and finally found one here. I didn’t want a cheap melamine and particleboard piece that would break apart in a couple of years but I also didn’t want to pay a lot. I ended up buying an awesome solid wood server which will look great as a media console for less than I would have paid for something at Walmart or Ikea… total score!

My husband and I like different furniture things with character. We bought a beautiful dining room tables few years back. This trip walked away with the perfect couch. Watch out for the delivery portion. I didn’t check over my chairs when delivered. I signed of as all good. Then later noticed a small cut in one of the seats. That was a bummer. With the couches we bought the warranty which would cover any stains, tears for 5 years. With 2 young kids in sure we will get to try that out.

I should start by saying that I didn’t buy anything.
The store had a lot of items, but they were WAY overpriced. I could buy better quality items at Macy’s for cheaper. I wasn’t impressed as it was so expensive.

This store is massive with a huge selection to choose from. The quality of the furniture looks to be a step above the typical furniture store. With solid wood pieces and a variety of styles I most certainly would return my business here.
The showrooms are a little crowded and service is hit and miss. At one point it felt more like a used car dealership. I say that because of the sales personnel on multiple occasions asked me how much I had to spend… this i thought was tacky and a bit intrusive.
