The Dance Whisperer

My now husband and I had such a great experience working with Rebecca (the Dance Whisperer). We came in on day one with a unique and challenging song request and in her words «anything is possible» — she was patient with us and helped us learn a wonderful dance that wowed our guests. Her dance studio is very comfortable. My then fiancé and I had no formal dance training and felt completely hopeless at times, but she took the time and care to work with us and make sure we understood every detail of our routine — after a few sessions with her, we were shocked to find ourselves wedding dance ready! We will always be fond of this dance routine and cannot thank her enough!!!

If you’re thinking that awkward middle school dance is your only option for your first dance, think again! My new husband and I don’t have 2 left feet, but we’re not especially gifted in the dance choreography department.
I wanted to do something fun for our first dance. My husband just wanted our dance to be better than his brother’s. We accomplished both of those goals with the Dance Whisperer!
Rebecca was very easy to work with! We gave her our requested songs and she had something ready in her mind before our first lesson. Our first lesson was just learning the basics. I’ll admit — after that day, I questioned how we would get through the whole thing at that pace. But by lesson #4 we had finished the whole dance and had done countless run throughs of the more challenging parts with her.
Rebecca is able to cater the dance to your tastes as well as your skill level. I’ve had multiple friends use her 5 lesson package for their first dances and all of us had great experiences! The price may sound steep, especially with the cost of the wedding itself, but I can say this expense was well worth it. In the midst of all the wedding planning craziness, this was something just for the two of us.

With less than eight weeks to go and hectic work schedules, we went with the five class package and made it happen.
Not only is Rebecca nice and a great dancer herself, she understands her students and takes into account their abilities. She made our first dance easy to remember and stylish.

My fiancé found the Dance Whisperer online and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Personally, I think of myself as a awful dancer who before the this wouldn’t even try. We did the 5 class package for our wedding dance and after the first few I was a little worried, but now I am confident we will nail it. Rebecca is very professional and always on time. She never misses appointments and really did a great job tailoring the dance to our abilities. I recommend her for anyone wanting to learn to dance. Great location as well!

REBECCA WAS AMAZING. My now husband cant keep a beat or dance to save his life –I still love him though :). My brother heard about Rebecca and her studio through Unilocal. He uses Unilocal a lot and figured her dance lessons would be a good engagement gift. Rebecca was able to choreograph steps for Tyler to remember and on the big day we were able to pull the song of with only one minor mistake! My husband danced! I was quite proud of tyler and REBECCA for being patient and working with us to get this first dance down. Thanks so much Rebecca your a lifesaver :).

From an outsiders POV, Rebecca seems like a great dance instructor. I was a bridesmaid at my recent friends wedding. Her then fiancée couldn’t dance to save his life. However, he was able to pull off his «first dance» with my friend quite well. I was rather impressed at the choreographed moves he was able to pull off after dance lessons from rebecca. The bride said her brother found Rebecca via Unilocal and I have to say she seems like quite a good teacher. Thanks Rebecca for making my friends first dance a success!

After taking lessons with the Dance Whisperer, it’s obvious why she is the highest rated Houston instructor on Unilocal!Rebecca is a fantastic teacher. Her home studio is the perfect environment and made us feel very comfortable right from the start so we could make the most of our lesson time. Communication is great and scheduling lessons is easy and flexible.
We learned a great routine of versatile steps, transitions, and twirls that we can use to dance to all kinds of music — in addition to the first song at our wedding. We had so much fun, it was easily the most enjoyable part of wedding prep (that didn’t involve food). Plus now we’ll look great on the dance floor at all of our friend’s future weddings!

Rebecca is the best teacher ever. My wife and I needed a last minute dance lessons for our wedding and Rebecca helped so much. I’m not an music/​art person, and I have trouble following beats but Rebecca is there to help me catch on the beat and I didn’t embarrass my self on my wedding. Strongly recommend her for dance lessons!

My wedding is next weekend and although I’m not the best dancer, Rebecca made me feel so comfortable. My fiancé and I chose a difficult song and she was soooo patient with us. Really enjoyed the classes with Rebecca! We took 5 for our big day and it was much needed! I’m happy with the results. Our dance was not complicated at all and it helped that she emphasized LISTENING to the beat. lol. That’s of course how bad my hubby and I were. We loved the end of our dance as well– people thought that it looked difficult and were impressed. I can’t wait for the wedding video :)

My husband and I agreed to take dance lessons when one of our children got engaged which occurred four months ago. After researching names on the internet I found Rebecca and our lessons began immediately. From the beginning Rebecca made us feel extremely comfortable even being the complete novices we were. She’s patient, reassuring and we have enjoyed all our lessons to date. We may not be stars by the time the wedding arrives, but we certainly won’t embarrass ourselves and might even impress a few. I highly recommend Rebecca!

We sought out Rebecca to help with our first dance for our wedding reception. She is knowledgeable, kind and very flexible with scheduling… we loved her «lifesaver» move, too. We really liked the first two lessons, but felt a bit underwater afterwards. We ended up coming up with most of our choreography (and we’re not dancers), but she did help us smooth out the edges on the last/​fifth lesson.

Make sure to book her before your big day! She’s a great instructor and we were both happy how she came up with our routine for the first dance!

My fiancé and I found Rebecca on Unilocal when we were searching for dance lessons for our first dance. After our first lesson we knew we have found the right teacher for us and opted for her wedding package. Rebecca was very kind and patient with us as we were most certainly beginner dancers. It was clear she definitely knows her stuff, too! We also had a very non-​traditional first dance song (The Talking Heads) with which Rebecca had no problem at all working with.
Rebecca was very flexible and responsive and worked to accommodate our crazy schedules. She has a great facility where she holds the dance lessons. It is private so you don’t have to worry about others watching you fall over each other (like us!).
By the end of our package of lessons, not only had we learned a custom choreographed sequence that was built by Rebecca for our skill level, but we were exceptionally more confident in our skills. Our first dance was a great hit and everyone was impressed with our «skills»! :)

We went to my friend’s wedding in April and they had a beautifully choreographed dance. Lo and behold, they worked with Rebecca, the Dance Whisperer, for their big day.
Rebecca is extremely professional and friendly. She took two completely novice dancers and definitely improved our dance presence. We are so happy that she was referred to us by our friend. The dance lessons went by so quickly and were very conveniently scheduled.

I found Rebecca on Unilocal when my fiancé and I were seeking dance lessons for our wedding. We wanted to look a little more polished for our first dance. Rebecca did an excellent job. We did the wedding package and had 5 dance lessons with her. We were dancing great by the third lesson and she helped us loosely choreograph some more advanced steps into our dance so it wouldn’t look staged. It was such a relief to have practiced some before our big day and we had fun doing it too! We were so pleased that my fiancé and his mother had one lesson with her and my Dad and I had one lesson with her for those dances. I highly recommend her, especially over group lessons. I found the Dance Whisperer on Unilocal and gave it a try because of great reviews. I love to dance and thought it would be a great date night activity if I could find just the right teacher and setting. I had dragged my husband to other studios in the past and each time we did a few lessons and he didn’t want to return. The private setting and personal lessons with Rebecca were just what we needed. We started the lessons with no specific goal in mind except to have fun and have a great couples activity. That is exactly what Rebecca has provided. We just finished our first group of lessons and signed up for another package of lessons.
Rebecca caters to my husbands busy schedule (he is a physician) and responds very quickly by email or phone if we have a request. I ‘m so glad I took the chance with the Dance Whisperer… and we are hooked!

Just a few days ago my fiancé and I were standing in the kitchen talking about the song we wanted to use for our first dance and thought well it can’t be that hard can it? Well about 13 seconds into trying to figure out how we were supposed to even stand in front of each other to dance, it became quickly apparent that we needed professional help! It was almost 11pm at night when I found Rebecca’s information and sent her an email. I got a response the next morning, scheduled our lesson and we just finished our first lesson. Rebecca is perfectly delightful! When I tell you we had no idea what we were doing, I am not exaggerating! But in one hour we learned a few steps and will be able to get through our first dance with some dignity and hopefully at least a little bit of grace. Don’t let your hesitation stop you, this is one wedding to-​do you won’t regret completing!
