If you’re a fan of slightly used items, you’re going definitely like it so much! The biggest fun of this place is that you never know what I waiting for you in the store next time! Once I got there nice home décor items, next time I got a gorgeous designer dress! Lovely place!

This place confused me, but I think I left pretty satisfied. Not one to thrift a lot because I find myself purchasing more junk for my apartment than actually useful and wearable things. But when I entered the cottage shop, it’s exactly what I expected… A room full of mostly old lady clothes hahaha.
Very large establishment with racks on racks on racks of clothes that you’d never even entertain wearing, but luckily, I went with a friend who’s a thrifter extraordinaire! She essentially had the patients to sift through the gross stuff and found me some actually amazing finds.
I got a chambray courier shirt that I’ve been eyeing at madewell for a million years for $ 2??? Yes, it’s not actual madewell brand, but it looks and feels pretty high quality and I got to keep like $ 48 in my pocket which ain’t so bad either.
Mind blown. If you can get past the typical grungy atmosphere of a thrift shop, definitely come in for the 50% off sale on Mondays. You’re basically getting clothes for free, which should be a crime… but somehow it isn’t?

Oh, I have something nice to say about The Cottage Shop. First of all, you should know that their selection isn’t that awfully expansive as you can imagine. No. It is ok, a decent one and not even close to pricey! I’ve been shopping in this area for years, but I stumbled upon this spot just a few weeks ago.
Frankly speaking, it didn’t help me to find what I was actually looking for, but I still found something cool, which is amazing office dress! 25% off! Awesome!

I’ve been into thrifting lately and decided to come here. Great spot! It’s in Montrose and has a small parking lot. The store is small but they have a lot of selections including clothes, shoes, furniture, lots of books, home décor and jewelry. Very helpful staff.
The clothes were nice and I saw a lot of high end name brands like Givenchy. Very clean and organized.
The have good deals. When I went, pants were $ 1.50. They also have a couple racks that are discounted. Will definitely shop here again. I just wish that they had a larger plus size selection.

I’ve been a couple of times when in the area. This past weekend, found a digital frame w/​2, $ 9.99 discounted stickers on it & one, $ 40 sticker. Obviously, it’s the cheaper price… wrong. Counter help said the $ 9.99 were from original purchase, their price was $ 40. Hmmm… wouldn’t you have removed the $ 9.99 stickers first or covered them over, before trying to sell something for 4 times the original cost? They wouldn’t budge, offer half price or nada. We walked out w/​o a purchase & they didn’t make any money for their charity. Defeats the purpose of the organization, don’t ya think?

The hours of operation are a bit inconvenient and the store is heavily geared towards females, since 90% of the clothes and 100% of the shoes are for women. I was the only male in the store when I was shopping.
The selection is very small– maybe one eighth the size of a typical Goodwill store, but the clothes are cheap and there’s a 50% discount off clothes on Mondays.
If you’re looking to shop for non clothing items, I suggest looking elsewhere. There’s almost nothing here except some books, kitchen gadgets, and some mugs.

The Cottage Shop is a great place to search and shop for slightly used items and make a difference in the local community. The Women’s Home does fantastic work & helps women rebuild whole lives by teaching them job & life skills. You never know what you will find & that’s part of the fun! I have found designer dresses at bargain prices & adorable home décor goods. The Cottage Shop rocks.

They have a pretty good amount of clothes for great prizes ! Came on a Monday & all clothes were 50% off ! (Monday’s only) What a great deal. To top it off the clothes range from 3 – 5 dollars ! They have a percentage of discounts for different items everyday of the week! Except for Wednesdays they put out more merchandise! If you are nearby, you should def check it out!

I’ve been coming here for years. The volunteers are always friendly but slow on the register. Also, they only have four fitting rooms, so come here when you have time to spare. I recommend Mondays for their 50% off regular clothes and Wednesdays, when they restock and you get first dibs on the new selection.
As with most thrift stores, you need patience to get to the gold. I’ve been able to find high quality clothes (100% cashmere/​wool/​silk) frequently, even outside the boutique section. The best part is that all of the profits of the shop go to charity so this is one of the most reasonably priced thrift shops in Houston, making stores like Buffalo Exchange look like a cash sucking machine in comparison.
Sometimes the clothes are outdated, sometimes they are trendy. Have an imagination and a good tailor and you’ll still save plenty on unique clothes.
Only four stars for their lack of authenticity. Today, I noticed a questionable «vintage Coach,» similar to an authentic one I own, that was not made of real leather and didn’t have the correct tag on the inside. For something that was priced $ 40 I figured I’d bring it to the attention of the volunteers. My comment was ignored, and I felt disappointed for the future owner of the purse that may not know better. I’ve had multiple issues with authenticity at this thrift store but they have been minimal.

How have I never seen this place before? As a frequent and long-​time shopper of other area resale shops, my daughter found this for us today, which was, serendipitously, half-​off-​regular-​clothes-​day. We didn’t find what we were looking for but I found one great office dress for fall (sales price of $ 2.50) and another high-​end boutique dress that I want to go back for later this week when it’s 25% off. Selection is not terribly expansive but the staff is friendly and happy to help.

To be honest, I’m not a fan. I’ve only been here once so this review is only from that one experience.
They mainly have just clothes, no housewares or décor or any of that stuff. While the prices are good, I sifted through many racks of clothes and everything seemed outdated and just not any styles that I would wear. I would have better luck at Goodwill. A few of the employees were staring at me like I wasn’t supposed to be there and it made me uncomfortable. I left without buying anything and moved on to the next place. I’d be willing to go back and give it another shot.

Found this thrift store by accident and proceeded to spend about an hour browsing the racks because …
A) there’s a pretty big selection of everything from clothes and shoes to furniture and general knick knacks. No line for the dressing rooms either!
B) the store is neat and clean and the staff is incredibly laid back. They let you do your own thing without hovering or rushing you
C) the prices are such a steal you kind of justify grabbing eight dresses at once (every day of the week is a different deal, ex: Fridays = 25% off all original priced merchandise which got me 2 cute dresses for $ 4.50 each). Plus — your $$ goes to support The Women’s Home next door so you kind of owe it to society to buy yourself a couple new outfits… right?
There’s a store wide 50% sale every three weeks and I will definitely be there when it happens. You should too.

This place was really well organized and laid out nicely. The staff was polite and on-​point. Their hours are pretty limited so you sort of have to plan when to go otherwise you may show up one Saturday afternoon and only have about 20 minutes to shop. You definitely need to leave yourself at least half an hour to pick through everything and look for treasures. The prices are higher than a typical thrift shop like Goodwill, but then the quality of the stock is much higher.
I left off a star because even though I looked and looked, the selection for medium sizes for woman was really limited. Smalls or Larges would find an abundance of items but mediums seemed very scarce.

I’ve visited this store twice and left each time satisfied. I ONLY go on Mondays; primarily because of their fifty percent off sale on the «Regular clothing» items (yet there are brand name finds through out this section).
I did visit the boutique section of the store and came across some reasonably priced designer goods. My most valuable find in this section was white ESCADA pants (with tag still attached) retailed at $ 325, that I purchased for only ten bucks even! Just lovely…

I really enjoyed my first trip here. I came on a Friday morning and all clothing (not including runway) were 25% off.
The ladies working there were very friendly and nice and informed every visitor of the pricing for the day.
The store is organized in a very neat manner. I found a silk DKNY shirt for $ 7.50. It is a bit higher in terms of thrift store prices, but it’s very much worth it due to organization and cleaniness of the shop. I could have walked out with more stuff (very good deals to be had), but I am not interested in reselling clothing on ebay. I could see someone who likes to resell LOVE this place.
There is a changing room located in the boutique section of the store. I will be back!

The best thrift store within the loop in terms of value.
I go there every Monday that I am off of work because their regular clothing is half-​off, which means you could walk out with a bag full of clothes for less than $ 10.
The staff is also nice and friendly. This place has some great finds and you’re also supporting a great cause.
My only disappointment is that there is no furniture.

When you walk in you are obviously drawn to the boutique section to the left, which if you are into high end luxury items, these are bargains … many still have original $ 1000 price tags on them.
Make sure you go to the right of the store … they have Fantastic Prices! I didn’t even go on a SALE day and that would have made it even better! I found a white linen blazer & a Jones of New York pale gold trench coat for $ 5 each. A silk equestrian sleeveless blouse & white Eddie Bauer baby corduroy shirt for $ 3 each.
I have a thrift store shopping blog and I will definitely find items from here that I can feature.

Happened in on their sidewalk sale day about 45 mins before they closed, and walked out with two blouses, a sweater, a suede jacket and a DKNY purse for under $ 25! The clothes are good quality for used, and generally unstained and in good shape, more so than the average Goodwill.
When it was closing time and I was still trying on clothes, the staff got more helpful rather than impatient, to help things go faster.
