History

Established in 1981.

The Akers Firm is a recent spin off of a long time and established litigation firm, Phillips Akers Womac, which merged with a large regional firm. We have maintained our clientele, and most importantly our spirit of service and dedication to our clients. Litigation is not for everyone. But, if you are going to file a lawsuit, you should have a lawyer who is capable and willing to actually stand in front of a jury. We’ve been doing it for 34 years.

Brock has been a lawyer since 1981, having started at Vinson & Elkins, one of the nation’s largest firms, and moving to Phillips & Akers, a firm at one time over 40 lawyers. With the merger of his former firm to a larger, regional firm, Brock was interested in his autonomy which would permit him to represent a wide variety of people and companies, as well as to perform charitable work and legal services. He has continued to be a major player at the courthouse, trying significant cases on a regular basis. Few lawyers in Texas, perhaps few lawyers the country, can claim they have more than 350 jury verdicts to their credit. This experience level is hard to find, but readily available for The Akers Firm clients.
