Dr. Pappolla has also been serving the public at large for over 20 years as a consultant for the NIH (National Institutes of Health) and a full Professor or Faculty at several of the most prestigious medical schools in the USA (LSU New Orleans, Mount Sinai Medical School in New York City, University of Texas at Houston) where he taught Neurosciences to medical students and medical residents for over 20 years. Dr. Pappolla has also served as Chairman of Neurology and Director of Neurosciences in one of the largest tertiary care centers in Mississippi, till about the time when his practice was disrupted by hurricane Katrina.

Dr. Pappolla’s training includes a PhD Doctorate in Human aging and medical residencies and fellowships training in Neurology and Pain Medicine (Anesthesia based) and also in Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Neuropathology. This training required 10 additional years of formal medical education (following graduation from Medical School) all pursued in programs accredited by the American Board of Medical Specialties, considered the «gold-​standard» in physician education in the United States. Dr. Pappolla holds active board-​certifications in 5 disciplines of Medicine (Pain Management, Neurology, Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Neuropathology). His scientific work includes more than 100 publications and book chapters mostly focusing in aging research. Dr. Pappolla’s aging research is cited in more than a thousand textbooks worldwide. This training and experience puts at your service a profound dedication and understanding of the aging process.

No complaints here. Visited Dr Pappolla last week for a consultation and ended up getting some fillers (no pressure from him). He did a great job and I am happy with my results. The office was clean, fillers came new in a box, and the staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely return.

Unprofessional– go somewhere else. My first appointment I waited an hour to be told the doctor was not coming in. Second appointment they called 2 days before to say they would not be open. I don’t have time for this.

Having recently moved to Houston from San Francisco, I was nervous about finding a good med-​spa. As a singer and stage performer going on tour in a month, I was lucky to have struck gold on my first attempt.
The physician from this spa is spot-​on and fascinating… he also specializes in neurosurgery and does research on Alzheimers.
I am going back for another treatment and highly recommend it. The paperwork was simple – they even have most of it on a tablet questionnaire.
I could see instant results and the doctor’s conservative approach (less is more) is precisely my style. I do not want to look like a Kardashian. I want to look like my best self and have my outer skin reflect the inner me.

I purchased Botox through Groupon for my first visit to this clinic. The staff was exceptionally nice. My complaint starts with the fact that my appointment was for 2:15. When I arrived they have several sheets of forms for me to fill out. Once I completed the forms I still had to wait. Once in the room they started the process of trying to sell you others treatments. I explained when I made my appointment that I would be coming from work and would need to get back as quickly as possible. Finally at 3:00 the Injector comes into the room and ask what he could do to make me happy and I stated I simply came in for Botox and I must get back to work. He then got upset and started the procedure. I then said, this is only my second time getting this and I am a bit timid and I moved. He then LOOKED at his watch and said to me, I don’t have time for this, if you are going to move I won’t inject you. So I sat for him to finish. He never even looked back at me, as he was walking out I then said this is unbelievable and he said, what did you say to me? I repeated myself and he STARTED yelling at me! Walk out of the office yelling telling the staff to get me out of his office. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor as he calls himself, in my life.

I found the center through a Groupon special and was skeptical as I am accustomed to traveling to NYC for treatments at my favorite spa. But I decided to give it a try and I am very happy I did. The staff greeted me promptly and pleasantly. The doctors were personable and did not try to upsell as is often the case with Groupon specials. Even the clients in the waiting room were friendly and engaging! I am thrilled with my results. Dr Papolla gave me an honest evaluation and recommendations without any hint of pressure. My favorite aesthetic spa is now located in Houston and I can keep my trips to NYC strictly for sightseeing!

I purchased a Botox special on Social Living and was skeptical about the quality/​strength of the Botox. I checked Unilocal as usual and the few reviews were mixed. My experience at this med spa pleasantly exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and professional and the Doctor was professional, not pushy as others have been in the past. He sincerely gave me recommendations to make my face more youthful (isn’t that what we all want?!) and I plan to follow through. One week later, my Botoxed area (45 units total) appear natural and tight. Although their location is inconvenient for me (Katy resident), I have decided to ditch my local med spa and dermatologist and make the journey to this one.

Loved the Dr!!! He’s brillient, he injected bellatire (sp?) into the «troughs» under my eyes which made a significant change in my face. I also got botox. I’m 45 and needed a little pick me up. This is a hugh improvment and i’m sooooo happy with the result. Will def be back and will join his membership, throughly impressed. Best place to take care of yourself, Dr Pappolla knows exactly what to do, I went to different places before and they bruised my face, but with Dr Pappolla my face never suffer any bruising and looks radiant

This is the worst center I have ever been to! They are extremely pushing with their sales. They actually keep telling you that «You NEED to get this or that done». I had Botox, they made me buy 60 units (which is ridiculous considering that I’m only 28 years old). 2 weeks after I had to go back and get it re-​done (for free, of course) because NO (ZERO) results were to be seen. On top of that they have charged my credit card WITHOUT my authorization! I have called and email them about it and they HAVE NOT contacted me back; I have filed fraud through my bank, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. I would NOT recommend anybody to go there. I have read many other reviews stating the same. I also believe that they write their own reviews on
because ALL of the 5 stars ones are from a couple of months back. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! They are not cheap, nor professional to work with.

SCAM ALERT!
I bought a GROUPON for a facial treatment valued at $ 149.
After doing it I will pay and they chargue me $ 1428…Ohhhh!
I asked the doctor who did it, Dr. Miguel Popolla, and he says that if I pay in cash he make me a discount and I ONLY have to pay $ 1000 …
Logically I did not have that much cash on me at the time, so I tell them that I will go to the bank and the next day I return to pay. I can not return the next day, because I was awaiting my uterus cancer surgery and I went to the hospital for consultation (I think this is a most important priority, isn’t it ?) but warning them of what happened by phone.
Finally I paid $ 1000 dollars in cash the day before to my surgery, and once they told me that I have a complaint with the police for non-​payment, which already have, and that is not in their hands to remove it… oh my God, I can’t belive it!
I call to the center several times after that, of course they need to explain the situation to me, and they never answered me or explain me anything, nor do return calls.
Who can chargue $ 1000 dollars for a treatment that intially it’s only $ 149, treat her like a thief, report it to the police despite having paid, and not worry about calling for give some explanation or asking how I feel, knowing also that I had a delicate health situation and a uterus surgery ?
Please NOTICE that do not go to this place and be very careful with this center.
Do not waste your time or money here.
There are many other good and honest places in Houston, but not this.
I’m going to report them to the BBB.

My experience with this office was one filled with great pleasure and superb knowledge! The Doctor was very patient, kind, and his eye for perfection was obvious. I never felt as if he was trying to «up sale» me, which is refreshing in this world full of pushy doctors and staff. The way in which he works hand and hand with the lead esthetician shows his dedication to his practice and his ability to remain humble. The lead esthetician was well spoken and also very knowledgeable. She took the time to understand my needs and gave me my options. Again, this was done without any pressure, which I truly appreciate. I highly recommend this place to all of my friends and family, as I know they will be treated with respect, kindness, and the true ability to enhance ones natural beauty.
The book I just read bashing the doctor and esthetician does not represent the people I meet on my visits at all. It seems like someone has to much time on their hands and probably does not have anything positive to say about anyone. You know what they say, «misery loves company.»

I don’t know what to make of this yet. I got Botox. No issues. I had a Groupon for $ 140 and it was good. Then I was advised to get Restalyn under my eyes and I am regretting the decision. I was close to $ 500 for the treatment. And today my eyes are very swollen, puffy, red, and painful. I had to take off work and cancel my plans. I will say that the staff is very friendly and helpful. I called and got a prescription called in for an anti inflammatory. It was an expensive script so I wish I had gotten some samples while there. The doctor seems nice and also has a neurology and pain management clinic. I will update with the results of my Restalyn treatment as time progresses.
