The 150 Movers

Update ²⁄₁₇ They did finally show up at midnight. We finished at 3:30 am. Insane. They did give me a hefty discount and the guys worked very fast and only complained minimally. I know they were tired, but so was I. I still wouldn’t recommend them. Whether this «never happens» or not, it did happen to me and I don’t care about their track record or other people. I had two broken ceramic rose bookends and a broken dvd stand when all was said and done.

Follow up. It’s now 10:40 and they are just now heading this way. Mind. It’s night!!! There excuse is that they can’t tell a customer who wasn’t ready no. That if the customer wants them to sit around and move fucking furniture like musical chairs around the house, they can’t tell them they have put another appointment off for 7hrs!!! I’ve been waiting 7 hours!!! F you. That’s all I have to say.

I booked an appointment 1 ½ to two weeks ago. It’s now into the 4^th hour of waiting for them because their earlier appointments ran over. They were supposed to be here between 4 and 7. It’s now 8:30 and they won’t be here until 10 – 11. It’s night time. What really makes it bad, is that instead of calling me earlier today when they first realized things were running behind and letting me know, I had to sit here without hearing from them until I decided to call. I’m so very tired and frustrated. Do they only have 3 movers??? That’s what I hired. If one team is behind and another team is done, wouldn’t you think you should send them on over to complete my job??? Wtf?! They say they will give me some sort of discount. I’m sorry, but that doesn’t make up for this. They say this never happens. Well I don’t care. It’s happening to me. I’m tired. They suck. Don’t waste your time, and you will waste a lot of it, or your money.

I had such a bad experience with 150 movers and even gave them more than adequate time to try to remedy some of the issues and they literally just don’t care. Not only that, but they actually are sleazy enough where they go out of their way to have little tricks to put lots of extra time on you. I asked if the movers would have tools to take apart my beds and would be able to disassemble and reassemble for me. I was told of course. When I asked them if they had the tools to take my beds apart everyone looked around… I had to find tools because no one could seem to find anything. When they did find the one screwdriver it was one screwdriver that one person would manually take out each screw — really? No one even has a drill? I actually went and borrowed one. When they started moving my stuff it didn’t matter the item they would put some of the items upside down (there was no care taken at all) put in on a dolly and pop it down each stair. Literally we picked up pieces of wood, glass. I said this is broke, you could see a table broke. They didn’t even care. I literally didn’t know what to do. It was myself and my daughter. The supervisor maybe came into the house twice. He stayed on the back of the truck the entire time. The workers stated they did not have drinks and weren’t allowed to bring anything or tae breaks to eat or drink by the owner of the company. The water was off at our property so I went and bought lunch and waters. They told me they were hungry so of course I wasn’t them to eat but I was charged for the time. Where we had to go to my new place I asked if I could pay the tolls and was told no so obviously extra charges and the time that was put down that was said they started moving me was absolutely a lie. When they were to put my bed back together besides it being broken, pieces were now missing and screws (that they took out) and they couldn’t find them. I had so many major pieces of furniture broken. I had so many pieces of dishes broken that I had had for many years. I have moved from overseas many, many times and in on all my moves I have only one time ever had damage from a mover to one piece of furniture. I have never had something like this. Then that evening they were saying they are still hungry I ordered pizza (so another break) and when I paid over the phone the guy over the speaker asks how the service is in front of everyone and has me give out my credit card number. I called the next day and tell him everything. He says why didn’t you tell me last night? I just couldn’t take it anymore. This company has had people file claims through TXDOT and you can request copies. The thing is there are a lot of really great, reputable companies out there. If this company had even tried to fix all the problems I can deal with that because things happen. The guy I spoke to originally seemed sincere and that he was going to take care of this and make it right and now its like 2 months later and we need you to take off work and we will send someone out and maybe we cab repair some of it… Ok, well how much longer do I not have a bed, a glass table, 2 dressers, 2 mirrors, TV Stands, etc. That is not what was said originally and if so why did they not come fix a week later? They actually asked me to not post anything with Unilocal or the BBB. I feel people should know to stay away. I think these guys are scammers. Check with TXDOT first. There are some great companies and this is not one of them. I truly think the 5 start rating are friends. They even wrecked my walls/​I mean full big holes. They didn’t even have supplies! When I mentioned that on the phone I was told the workers are contractors! Just stay away… At the end when I did not tip after the broken furniture, lost screws, slats to my bed, etc. the movers I thought had left. The doorbell rang and one of the guys said he forgot something and ran in and tok the rest of the pizza… I guess he got mad I didn’t tip them but they did such a horrible, horrible job. I really cannot believe how bad and how unprofessional this company is. I am shocked they are actually still in business.

This is a great service. We had Michael and Justin. They were on time, very prompt and extremly quick. We moved from Eldridge to Museum District in 2 hours flat. Great service. Very happy. Thank you Michael and Justin.

I just had 150 Movers help me moving my stuff from two houses in Spring Branch to my new townhome in Rice Military. Mike and Justin arrived 30 minutes ahead of the time window they had quoted me. These guys did and awesome job! They were very careful with my stuff and the houses (walls and floors) and very efficient at the same time. I’ll recommend 150 movers to my friends. I’ll be using them again!

Best movers ever! Damien, Justin, & Kenny were rock stars! They got our furniture wrapped, protected & moved out so quickly & w/​such ease! I wasn’t worried about anything being damaged at all. Plus, they were so polite & funny! If you’re looking for movers u should definitely go w/​these guys… they made our moving experience so much more enjoyable than it could’ve been!

Mike and Kenny did a great job in excellent time… did a complimentary dumpster trip… and didn’t break anything. All around great experience.

At this time, I have been explained further of the misunderstandings. 150 movers has contacted me since I have made the original review. I am not going to take down my original review because that is MY experience with the company. I did appreciate that Eddy did explain to me what the trip charge was.
Regarding the trip charge, I was told over the phone that depending on the distances of the locations the move was going to take place, a trip charge would be determined. Over the phone, I provided the addresses and told me that I would not be charged an additional trip charge. After the move was completed, I was told by one of the movers that I had to pay a trip charge. I was thrown off because of what I was already told over the phone. Eddy explained to me that the mover did not use the right choice of words and that the «trip charge» is already in the price of the move and that I was not charged more for it.
150 movers saw my negative review. They apologized for what happened and offered to repair some of the items that were damaged during the move. After a few weeks, I received a check in the mail for the other items that were destroyed and could not be put back together.
The process of the items getting repaired/​replaced was a daunting one. I wish none of my items were damaged and I would have been a repeat customer. However, I still will not use them again.

Amazing!!! I have used 150 movers over 20 + times and each and every time has been exceptional. They are bonded and insured and if anything breaks they honestly take care of it immediately. Medhi had been the best and has always taken good care of me and makes my move as seamless as possible. If you are looking for a quick and affordable move, 150 movers are your guys!

Chris and Kenny were fast and professional. They moved my entire one bedroom apartment from Conroe to Houston in under two hours (including drive time) so you know they don’t just stand around like some other moving companies. I will certainly think of 150movers the next time I need a move.

James and Michael moved my daughter from my house to her new apartment, distance of twelve miles. We had everything boxed and ready to go. They wrapped her furniture extremely well and were very careful in the move (her apt is on the 2^nd flr and they had to take the stairs). They were extremely polite, friendly, and not once did we hear a complaint from them… and this was mid-​August! Total time was 2.25 hrs and they prorated the 15 minutes so total move was $ 163. TOTALLY WORTH IT! I have highly recommended them to my friends and will definitely call them again when needed.

I have used 150 Movers 3 times now– both short and long distance moves– and each time was a wonderful experience. They are friendly and clearly communicated information via phone when booking the move. Day of, movers arrived in the scheduled window given and were so efficient in the moving process. Their customer service is down-​to-​earth and genuine!
Ask for Bill or George to help you move– they are efficient and great company for a couple of hours!

Best company hands down. From calling to book the move, to the execution it was smooth sailing. The original person who took my call was understanding, informative, and friendly and didn’t mind all of my questions. The movers showed up on time as scheduled (even on Easter weekend) and were very courteous, friendly and efficient. Our belongings arrived good as new. There were no extra hidden fees or bs like the other companies try to pin on you. Thank you for taking so much stress off of our move! Thank you for your integrity and hard work! Great company you have here! May I just add that their prices knock the socks off of all the other competing places — and you get much clearer fees with less hassle.

the people with the truck liked to take smoke breaks and didn’t treat my things as carefully as I’d hoped they would, nothing serious, but a few nicks on my coffee table and the top of the table came off as well so I had to fix it
aside from them taking 3 hours to complete what should have been a 2 hour move at the most I was happy with the service I got, and with how little it cost it was well worth it, I would most definitely use them again in the future

A friend also suggested this company however I ended up going with Nationwide Movers in The Heights because 150 is horrible! I emailed to confirm that I accepted their quote and time/​crew proposal, 10 days before my move date. I never received any correspondence requesting a deposit or outlining further requirements to confirm my move. On the morning of my move however their extremely rude, hostile, and argumentative manager Matt informed me that no crew had been scheduled for me because I hadn’t made a deposit or called in — neither a requirement outlined on their website or in any of my 4 – 8 emails to/​from 150 regarding my order. Thankfully I was able to go elsewhere and as promised, write a review warning people of their subpar product and customer service. I definitely would NOT recommend them and in fact admittedly recommend you go elsewhere.

After having a horrible moving experience last year, I was hesitant in calling a mover company this year for my move. However, 150 movers restored my faith. They came on time on the day scheduled, finished the job quickly, and had a reasonable moving rate.

DISCLAIMER: I did not go with this moving company.
I just got off the phone with a man who answered simply by saying «this is Luis*» I had to ask if he was with 150 movers. When he said yes, I explained that I needed a move from inside the loop to Cypress and informed me that that would cost an additional $ 25 – 30, $ 150 for the first two hours, and $ 55 an hour after that.
WAIT WHAT? I thought there was a flat rate. The graphic on your facebook page says $ 150 flat rate, NO CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL HOURS“
He then informed me that for a move to Cypress if I wanted to go with the flat rate, we were looking at $ 200 and that we would have to go from there. Go from there? What does that even mean?
For a company that claims to make moving simple, nothing was simple about this conversation.

I used 150 movers a while back and have been hesitant to write a review. The reason why is because the movers that came to my house to move my stuff were extremely unprofessional, and I wouldn’t put it past them to come back and physically attack me for writing the truth about the company. Nonetheless, I couldn’t help but notice the many fake reviews on this page, and am submitting mine in hopes that no one will have to go through as miserable an experience as I.
So here are just a few of the many unprofessional actions I observed while this company was moving my things:
1) I paid for the 150 flat rate move, plus additional money for the premium service which is supposed to include closing boxes, wrapping furniture, etc. I elected this service over the phone, unfortunately, so I don’t have written proof.
2) The two men that arrived at my house immediately started complaining that they did not know they had to move my house today. It was late and they were tired, they continued (I don’t remember when they arrived, something like 4pm-​5pm). One mover, who was stinky and covered in sweat, proceeded to sit down on my family’s living room couch, saying he needed to write up papers.
3) Although I had sent a written request for all the items that needed to be moved, each mover repeatedly asked me to go through the house and identify what needed to be moved. Throughout the entire move, they continued to ask me, by pointing, which items needed to be moved.
4) The mover who began by infusing the living room couch with BO while writing up papers (hereafter referred to as Bo), did not do anything for about ¾ of the «move out». The other mover (hereafter referred to as «George») was very large. He was moving everything by himself, so of course all my belongings were drug from the house to the moving vehicle.
5) After writing up papers, Bo would walk around randomly and would stand in one room for extended periods of time. When I walked in to check on him, he would be rotating furniture, and would ask me if he needed to move it.
6) I have many friends that could have moved me for free. I chose to hire movers because from prior experience, they are strong and can move the entire place in 2 hours (I used either 2 man movers or 3 man movers before). I didn’t want to hurt my friends’ backs, so I hired movers. Unfortunately, the movers did not finish until around 1 or 2 am. I was exhausted. I had to move my own furniture to speed them up. My friend had to watch 1 mover while I watched the other to make sure they didn’t destroy everything.
7) While moving into my new place, George kept complaining that he needed soda water. He couldn’t believe he had to do all this moving and not get any soda water. Obviously all of my «soda water» was still in the moving vehicle, so I nervously ignored his comments.
A little while later, he tried to get a soda out of the vending machine, but it was broken and stole his dollar. He proceeded to scream and stomp around saying something to the extent of «I NEED SODA WATER».
At this point, I remembered we had water in my partner’s car, and asked him to go get it for George. I brought George two of the water bottles, and apologized I didn’t have any soda water. He took the bottle, and then said «IT’S HOT, I CAN’T DRINK NO HOT WATER».
Surprised, I asked my partner to put the water in the freezer. This whole situation was very strange, since moving companies are supposed to provide nourishment for their own employees. George continued to complain until the water was cooled in the freezer.
8) While George was waiting for the water to freeze, he would stomp around in my new (–ly cleaned) place with his muddy shoes. He told me he should have a place like mine. I then left the room to check on the other mover. When I came back, my sister told me that George had randomly weighed himself on my glass scale instead of moving anything.
9) I forgot to mention it rained during the «moveout». The movers got everything muddy from then on. Since the house we were moving out of was going to be given to the new owners the next day, we had to lay down our bath towels to stop the movers from making the place totally filthy. By the way, even with muddy boots, Bo continued to walk around randomly in every room of the house until my friend screamed at him to stop.
10) I also forgot to mention that the movers claimed they didn’t know how to close boxes or wrap furniture. They kind-​of wrapped 1 or 2 pieces of furniture. Everything they moved that was even slightly heavy had knicks out of the wood, broken off knobs, scratches everywhere.
11) I could have moved my entire house by myself (excluding 1 heavy item), faster and with less damage than these 2 movers.
Wow, I have run out of characters. Let me just say that the 11 items above are about ¼ of the horrible things that happened during the 8 – 10 hours I had to deal with them.
Do yourself a favor, pay the money for anyone else.

A friend of mine recommended this moving company to me and I’m glad we hired them! My boyfriend moved apartments over Labor Day weekend. The movers showed up (two of them) and started working right away. Since we had contacted them a few weeks prior to the move, they already had a list of furniture that we wanted moved.
What’s AWESOME… they wrapped all our furniture to protect them from getting dirty and scratched! I mean… I don’t even do that myself when I moved so that was a plus (and lovely surprise too!). Our furniture and boxes arrived in one piece. The rate was super reasonable for the care and hours they put in.
Side Note: this company have two types of rate: a flat rate and an hourly rate. I recommend that you contact them and see which rate they suggest because there are certain «rules» for each rate. When I contacted them, they were honest and up-​front about which rate they thought was best. Even when they arrived and evaluated the place, they told us what they thought was the best pricing for us (which we appreciated).
The service was great and the movers were professional. I’d highly recommend this company to anyone who needs help with their move!

Absolutely awesome moving company. Loved the honest, upfront, flat rate pricing. Would use 150 Movers again in a heartbeat!

I am new to
and I am starting with the 150 Movers. They are a moving company that I had originally found off of Craigslist. I used them once and they have been my movers ever since. They do apartment moves for 150 dollars as long as your stuff is boxed up and your beds are taken apart. It hasn’t happened during any of my times using them but one of the guys told me that they charge a little bit extra if there is a long walk from the customers front door to the truck. Either way, I know all my friends and myself have been using them for the last 2 years and amongst my circle I have never heard of one of their jobs going over 300 dollars. NEVER once have I been treated like a number with the 150 Movers, will continue to use them until I’m at one place for good.
