Nice little tacos at the lowest price I have ever had. The tacos are pretty tasty. It stays open until late at night and if you are looking for something savory at those late hours, this is the place for you.

Great tacos for a $ 1! There are a ton of variety and did I mention that they were a $ 1?!

Great street tacos for only $ 1 each, can’t go wrong with that. Only thing is that sometimes the truck is gone so there is a sense of unreliability, especially if you’re in the mood for them. Also they only take cash.

Okay not the cleanest or most presentable food truck. But if you are slightly inebriated or having a midnight craving and can stand a bit of fire in your mouth nothing satisfies better than the 1 dollar tacos from taco el gato. I love their spicy onion side and the sauces. They are kept right in front and that’s what gets you crying with happiness #read super spicy. I always go for the tacos fajitas, Barbacoa they are top in my list. The comes pollo and chincharron. i like to load them with onions and the red pepper sauce. My tear glands will be empty by the time I finish but it’s a happy ending. Love their Mexican soft drinks as well. You can also get beer or other drinks from the adjacent grocery store. I like it when the guys manage the counter rather than the elder lady. They speak English and are pretty fast at service. Quickly getting to pros and cons Pros 1. Cheap tasty tacos. Sinfully good and a bit adventurous 2. Late night availability 3. Close prominence to grocery store 4. The onions and the sauces Cons 1. Cleanliness freaks will pass out 2. Some days the staff doesn’t speak English 3. If the parking lot is full you pretty much have a drive a bit to find another 4. The napkins are super thick and super cheap. Ultimately it’s finger food. Either keep a fountain or better napkins. I always get a greasy steering wheel.

My friends were raving about this place, about how it’s much better than this other place I go to, so I decided to try it out. The tacos were plain, the gordita was dripping in grease, and the tortas were mediocre.

This place has really gone downhill! Quality and service have both declined drastically since Gus left! The lady at the register is super rude and not customer friendly. You ask her for extra salsa on to go orders and she pretends not to hear you. When you ask again she’s super rude about it. Tacos are now super greasy and they give you half the meat they used to give you. Thank God I found Gustavo’s own new place Om Richmond and Fountainview next to Darque Tan. Across from Burger King. Even though it is a farther drive, I will be going there from now on! It’s called Tacos La Mordida! Go there! You won’t regret it!

This is my second best taco place after Taco Del Julio. I love the beef fajita tacos! The sauce they have is great as well. One of good food trucks in houston and what i love is they are always in the same area. Convinient food truck!!! :)

Fajita tacos are the bomb. Family has their favorite and every one agrees to stop by for a quick bite. They get busy, but don’t let that fool you. Their quick on their order. For 1dollar tacos and a glass bottle coke it’s something you can’t pass by.

These tacos are the bomb dot com. Seriously the perfect quick stop for those late night munchies. They’re open from like 4pm till about 4 am.(Don’t quote me on that). They’re only about a dollar each taco too. They serve other things as well but the tacos are definitely my favorite.

I got a chicken & beef mixed burrito. It was my first time and I will return. So good wanted to go back but that would be being excessively greedy. Lol

Despite looking like an ordinary food truck, Tacos El Gato is anything but. I’ve visited more times than I’ve checked in but never had any issues with my food, everything always comes out tasting delicious and fresh. Service is always friendly and prompt, even when they’re busy. You can get a large amount of food for under $ 20. Tacos are only $ 1 each! And the best part is that they’re open pretty late. Only downside I can really say about this place is they don’t accept credit cards, but hopefully that’ll change in the future. If not, I’ll still be buying tacos here.

It’s a taco truck. Not sure why people are rating this particular one so high. They must of never eaten at one before. They have cheap food, but there’s a reason it’s cheap. Most these taco trucks use really crappy meat. The meat is never that good. It might give you a stomach ache later because you never know how sanitary they are or how old this meat is. The tacos are cheap but very small. They put plenty of toppings like cilantro and onion on it that is good. Like I said earlier, it’s just your average taco truck. If you’ve been to a couple you’ll know what to expect.

I’ve been eating at this place after work around 3AM since they opened. Food is good and their prices are really good. There are not too many places open to eat at that time, and these guys really did it. Service is great and the food is clean. You get the free Wi Fi from the Metro PCS store accross the street.

I ordered the Fajita tacos for $ 1.25 for a small size corn tortillas. Fully loaded with onion, cilantro and avocado. The beef is more like medium stir-fry ground beef rather than the chopped, slightly burnt, flavorful cubes(ones you saw in Chipotle). Same goes with the green sauce: does not spicy and does not have the distinctive green sauce flavor. It is a decent place for a night-snack but personally, i wouldn’t go here for good tacos.

This is by far the best place that sells taco… it’s on the street, nothing fancy, you order and either eat there standing or you take it to go. Authentic taste, best to get is their Chicarones($ 1/each) and Chicken Quesadillas($ 2 for a small one, which is already pretty decent size). Don’t forget to drizzle it with their green chili sauce. To Die For! They are located on the parking lot of Westheimer Auto Center on the intersection of Westheimer and Briarhurst. Very near to Lam Bo Chinese Restaurant. They usually open from 6:00 p.m. all the way till 3 – 4 a.m. sometimes. You won’t miss their truck, they are decorated with white bright LED. You will usually see crowds there standing. I’m so glad I love SO close to this place!

If you’re looking for some late night authentic tacos, this is definitely a top pick. You can see it on the side of Westheimer with it’s bright lights and consistent clientele milling around. Depending on when you go, be prepared for your fave to be sold out. One visit they were out of chicharrones, another time pastor. Everything is good though, so getting a substitute is still fine on the tastebuds. Barbacoa, lengua, chorizo… I think I’m still missing some other ones. Beware of the innocent looking green hot sauce in the little baggies!

Reasonable food. One of the best mexican street food you will ever enjoy. Never tried beverages they offer. By default the food is greecy. Upon request you can ask for less oil to be added. Within 4 dollars you can fill your stomach. Barbacoa taco is my favourite. They accept only cash which is understood. As tacos are as reasonable as 1 $.
