Most of the food is adequate. You get to enjoy a great variety of Japanese cuisine pretty fast. I mean fast, like a fast food restaurant. The conveyor belt always has something to offer. Go try it. Service is great. They get you what you need. The menu offers more than just sushi, its neat and clear. Good, affordable, and quick. It’s an experience!

Love the concept, the lobster roll rocks, overall a great experience, they are very accommodating. If you don’t see what you want they will bring it to you right away…

I like the concept. you sit down as an endless conveyor of sushi travels past your table and you just grab what you want. the service has always been great. the waitresses will even help my daughter, who is learning mandarin, to practice some new words she has learned. the only reason I give 3 stars is because of the quality of the fish. it used to be better, it is not bad just not great, other wise I would give 4 stars.

This is an unassuming restaurant located within a busy plaza. It has a unique concept if offering diners sushi on a conveyor belt and menu service too. First, I let all of the choices go around once on the belt. Fortunately I wasn’t starving because it took several minutes to see and try to quickly read descriptions of each plate. I eventually decided to skip sushi altogether but picked up crab puffs and ordered Japanese chicken fried rice from the menu. For some reason, an entire plate seemed more fulfilling than eating one sushi roll at a time. Would I go here again? Yes. The food was tasty and not too expensive. The only drawback is that if you are in the mood for sushi, be prepared to wait a few minutes for your preferred items to come along.

This place is really fun! The sushi rolls are fresh and very reasonably priced. Don’t expect elaborate or unique rolls. They have all the classic rolls and they’re good.

Nice place for a quick bite. You pick up whatever sushi you want off the conveyor belt so there is no waiting. The color of the plate determines the price of the sushi. The waitstaff is friendly, and our drinks were never empty. We had salmon and yellowtail sushi along with a few rolls. The volcano roll was delicious! I highly recommend it. The sushi is pretty fresh, we had one place that was a little old. The place is clean decently priced. we will probably be back and definitely recommend it for the experience.

Worst sushi place I have ever been! Even for a rotating sushi bar all the items were terribly old like they had been out for hours. When we asked the staff to make us fresh sushi we saw him walk to the belt and literally take on off it when he thought he was out of view. My favorite roll is the baked scallop roll which was cold and gross so we pleaded them to bake it fresh for us. They responded with, oh so you want me to heat it in the microwave? The service was just terrible overall and we left at this point. The wasabi was also awful! It was flavorless and chalky and that is something I consider to be a standard item for sushi restaurants. This place had the worst sushi I’ve had in Houston

We had a good time and will return. I really liked the ika sansai, which I’d never had before.

This is the best sushi place! Great tasting and super cheap! The sushi just keeps coming and coming! Perfect if you want to try different varieties in sushi in one sitting! For every sushi lover out there! We’re definitely going to keep coming back again and again!

It all just make senses to me now… that the reason this place is called choo choo sushi because the sushi is carried on this conveyor belt like a little train… lol anyways aha the sushi here is actually pretty good for the cheap price that you pay for. Bring friends along and then split the bill at the end! That way you can have room to try different varieties of sushi.

I liked the concept, I think it’s genius. There was one plate that we tried where the sushi was not fresh though. I don’t know how long it stays on the conveyor if people don’t eat it. Overall it was a good experience. You don’t have to wait on anybody to eat so it’s good if you are in a hurry and need a light snack.

Had to update my review because after 2 years, they have lost a customer. The prices went up but the fish quality went way down. I’m sorry but you lost my business to the other sushi moving chains that opened in Houston. I went there the other day for happy hour and the waiter refused to give us the happy hour discount? I asked for the check after we finished and they even give me an explanation just a simple sorry we can’t??? It literally said it on the menu and the door. Whatever, i paid and left. Not returning. On top of that, we asked for something and the waiters ignored us because they had mom’s with little kids(who will probably give them a better business than us college students???) I asked for someone standing right there, she said one minute and never returned. Fed up and not coming back. Frozen fish and soggy rice.

Everytime I come here they’re always mopping the floor or cleaning something which is very unprofessional since there are a few times when I almost slip. The owner is constantly screaming in Chinese and most of the staff doesn’t speak English. The food is cold and nothing taste fresh, I would honestly never come back.

I do dig the fast food sushi style of this place! It’s so dang convenient to sit down and start grabbing your grub to shove down your trap when you want sushi in a hurry. The interior was clean, well lit and I liked the fact you could see in/out the windows(unlike the Sugar Land location). Our service was also prompt and someone would pop over the minute you were ‘looking around’ for someone. The sushi was fresh and tasted good.(It was lunch time so lots of fresh stuff coming out and around). My man was happy with everything we got as well. I’ll be back for sure. And yes, you can be price convenience if you wish to be — just stack up the low cost plates — but when i went there weren’t many of those options available. Good thing I didn’t care about that that day.

Decent sushi for the price. If you stick to the basic sushi it can run anywhere from $ 10-$ 20/person for lunch. Make sure to come in during happy hours(2:30−5pm Mon-Fri and 9pm-close Sun-Thurs) for a 20% discount. I would say that their strongest competitor that I can think of would be sushi Sakura express which also has a happy hour. Sakura’s sushi is a bit more fresh but sushi choo choo definitely has them beat in terms of quantity and size of rolls. Overall sushi choo choo’s service is average and the rolls themselves are about average too. Slightly better than buffet quality sushi but it is an entertaining concept of having your food parade in front of you on turnstiles. Being able to pick your food up at your leisure allows you to control the pace of your meal meaning no waiting for food to cook.

It’s my wife and I’s place for pretty good sushi on the lower end of the price range. In other words, when we’re feeling cheap! My go-to options are the Saba and SOS roll(have to order from menu). I actually like this location better than the newer one in Sugarland just because the sushi comes out warmer. The Sugarland location’s sushi comes from a cold fridge conveyor belt which seems(or tastes) like it could have been out longer than I would like. The service is usually pretty good. I don’t think I have ever had a complaint about the staff. With the holidays coming up, it’s a good spot for budget sushi!

I like the idea. Japanese«kaiten zushi» style. Kids enjoyed. Most of rolls are 4pcs and you can try more kind than traditinal sushi restaurant.(You order whole rolls for $ 10+ and become full…) If you do not know what to start with, my recommendation is to wait for one to two round before get any. So you will not ended up getting something you wish did not get it after getting so full, and finding something else you wanted to try. Also, some items are going around for couple times(i am sure restaurant will remove old one) Over all 4 rolls, 3 sushi, 2 gyoza, 1 edamame, 2 drinks and 1 hot tea for less than $ 40 including tips. I would go back again. Oh, also gree tea, they will bring tea pot and cup, so plenty of hot tea to enjoy withought asking /waiting for refill.

Love the concept the only downer is you’ll see something you want then people ahead of you would keep grabbing them and it might take a while for you to get it. Other than that, the sushi is good for the price you pay for it and you get to eat different rolls, which is a plus in my book. The waiters were friendly and they will come by to ask you if you need anything or any special roll you want. I would probably go back.

Even though this is my first conveyor belt sushi bar, the quality of the sushi is definitely higher than«decent». Customer service was very polite and accommodating. They are very welcoming and warm and have good timing on when to check up on the customer. Even on my first visit to a novel concept, I didn’t feel out of place at all. Is this restaurant new? It looks very nice inside and is clean and well kept. Not once did I question the sanitary conditions of this restaurant. I came in at around 11:15am, before the usual lunch rush, so I don’t have much of an idea of how crowded it gets, unfortunately. Now… The food! My goodness, there is such a wide selection of rolls and nigiri(I think you have to order sashimi if that is desired). They have smaller dishes with half a roll? But it seems like a great idea as it allows you to try more types of sushi instead of settling on one expensive roll! So many to choose from, all from the lower tier to higher tier fishes for any variety of tastes. Even though I have a shellfish allergy, and couldn’t eat a large number of rolls, I was still able to find a good variety or rolls to try. Needless to say, I definitely got my sushi fix and will be coming back. The various dishes are color coded to depict the tier and price of the roll or nigiri. The most expensive rolls/dishes are 4.25, so my first impressions of pricing seem very fair. Further Price review forthcoming.
