I’ve been going to Kim for 3+ years now for both my digital perm and cut. She is awesome. She does a good job with layering and just as good with giving me the natural curls I want. I’ve gone to a few people in the past for the traditional perm or the digital perm. I’ve had bad experience with burns and the stylist being too aggressive and rushed. For the amount of money I spend at a salon, I expect good service. Kim is my go to stylist. Would highly recommend her. In general, everyone is very nice there. I’ve never tried William, but he’s usually busy himself. I don’t think you would go wrong, if you want to try this place out.

Kim is the best. I found her on Unilocal.She takes her time to do it right. I have very thick hair and she made it awesome!

Kim is truly deserving of the title ‘Master Stylist’. She is truly a master of her craft. I decided somewhat impulsively that I wanted to try an ombré hairstyle for the new year and she made that conception a reality. She patiently pulled swatches of color to make sure that they would suit my hair color and then painstakingly painted my hair. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I have a lot of hair. She probably spent a total of 3.5 hours just coloring my hair. Kudos to her for not rushing because she had another appointment. When she knew my appointment was going to run late, she made the effort to call the next client and inform them of the delay. The end result was well worth the wait. Thank you, Kim!

I am so glad that I finally decided to get a Japanese straight perm for my hair. I was a little hesitant at first because the last time I got it done it was a waste.
I got Rachael to do the straight perm and she really knows what she is doing. I could tell that she was really meticulous about her work and wanted to make sure she did a good job.
After a month my hair is still pretty straight and it has been such a time saver to not have to straighten my own hair everyday now.

It’s my first time to try digital perming so I went to Unilocal to look for a reasonably priced, asian hair salon to have my hair done at. I’ve called at least 6 salons and asked quotes over the phone. The person I spoke with over the phone was very accommodating and gave me the best price for digital perm! And i saw great pictures and reviews for William.
I got there 5 minutes before my set appointment and right on time William came to greet me and we talked about what I wanted done to my hair. I was set at ease right away to leave the fate of my hair to William.
I was definitely definitely not disappointed! William is a pro. He set my expectations about what to expect the end product would be, very considerate throughout the entire process, even taught me easy techniques on how to style my hair! I would definitely come back here again! I absolutely love my hair right now!

I don’t normally write reviews unless it’s to review a 1 star place just to let them know I ain’t for the play-​play. But Kim’s been blessing my follicles for far too long and I had to return the honor.
Like our benevolent father, Jesus Christ, to Mother Earth, there are two periods in my existence. Before Kim (BK) and After Kim (AK).
Before Kim, I was a naïve younging putting up with raggedy cuts from Super Cuts and Sports Clips. After Kim… Well, let’s just say I’m ready. My cycle of confidence, in between haircuts, is parallel to a sine curve. After humbling myself for a couple of weeks with no visits, my cockiness reaches peak levels leaving Kim’s barber chair.
So do yourself a favor and go see her. Let her know the kid put you on. You’ll thank both her and I later.

It’s 8pm and I just left the salon that closes at 7 and there were 2 other customers still in there. I had called earlier in the day and let them know I wanted cut AND color and I picked 4pm, not having any idea how long it would take since I’ve never had my hair professionally dyed before. I got there 10 minutes early and didn’t have to wait. Everything started out well. First I got your basic trim with long layers that I asked for. Then it was time for color. I had seen the sign in the window that said free haircut with color and treatment so I asked my stylist, Alex, about that and we planned on doing color, highlights, and treatment so I’d get the haircut for free. However, it was already 7:30 by the time the base color was done and Alex asked me «do you still want highlights?» I decided against it because we would be there until 9pm doing all this and I felt bad about it, especially since Alex had been wincing the entire time due to his back pain. Then there was some miscommunication, I suppose, because I thought we would still do the treatment and I’d get the haircut for free. Plus I don’t know that «treatment» was so I had no idea that we hadn’t done it. In the end, they charged $ 100 for the color and $ 30 for the cut. I have medium length hair. My hair ended up nice, no complaints.
I don’t think I’ll go back for basic trims but if I wanted a drastically different haircut the $ 30 is pretty worth it. And they do seem to know what they’re doing. I would recommend asking for William for color. I saw him looking over my stylist’s shoulder every once in awhile. He even intercepted once to make sure I got some kind of rinse to make color stick better. I think I will check out some of the other well-​rated salons in this area before going back to this one.

I been looking for a good hair stylist that can do the A line cut. I’m from California and I come all the way to Houston just to get my hair cut done by Kim.
It’s worth the trip, time, and money to come get a hair cut by Kim. She spends a lot of time and detail in cutting and making sure everything is correct.

I’ve found my new hair stylist.

Made an appointment with Alex for my first time. I wanted long layers with a trim. I had extremely long damaged hair (long down to the waist) that was damaged from split ends due to hair breakage and hair length. I rarely cut my hair as I have had bad experiences in general and never found a stylist that could relate and convey what I wanted. Having really long hair makes you typically paranoid of how much the stylist is going to cut away. Which is precisely what I experienced in most salons, stylist cutting more than I would like. HOWEVER, Alex gave me one of the best hair cuts I’ve ever received. I came in and he was running just a little late with a previous client who had very long hair as well. However, he was very apologetic and kept making sure I was okay while waiting. I could tell he was a perfectionist as I observed the way he was cutting his client’s hair. Very detailed, I must say. As soon as he got to me, he was super nice and made sure I was comfortable. He started the consultation and asked me what I exactly wanted, I showed him some pictures and he got started. I immediately felt comfortable with him and we got along really well.
I also really liked how he made you feel at home but yet concentrating on your hair as well. He guided me through each step and told me how much he is cutting and why he wouldn’t layer too much to maintain the thickness of my hair. I also felt that he was very genuine and that he did not try to oversell me the salon products (which I tend to feel uncomfortable when stylists shove their products down your throat by upselling). He had 150% focus on my hair and the outcome. He recommended that I get the Keratin Treatment done as my mid section of my hair was damaged as well. I went ahead and did it and it was really worth it!
I spent a longer time there than I thought all because Alex was just so accommodating, genuine, and sweet! In addition, he was really professional and LOVES HIS JOB. He would rather spend all day with you to make sure your hair is perfect and healthy than rush for another client aka make more money. This is the type of stylists that you would wanna go if you want the perfect job done.
He also does colorings as well and I have definitely found my go-​to stylist now!

I really adore Alex Vo. He takes out his time to actually put effort in your hair. He did an AMAZING job on my hair. He does not rush a single bit and put every detail. I love my outcome. I highly recommended him :)

Found Kim through here and I had the BEST experience.
Kim is so sweet and she really cares about what you want. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did exactly that! The salon is very clean and the whole staff are nice. This is one of the best hair cuts I’ve ever had. And it only cost me $ 30! So cheap compared to other salons anywhere I’ve ever been! Love love loveeeeeee this place! I’ll definitely be back!

Love… love…love my new hair cut. Alex did an EXCELLENT job. He took the time listening to what I want and executed it perfectly. He straighten up my hair prior to cutting to make sure I have an even-​balance hair length. He analyzed my hair texture to ensure appropriate treatment for my hair type.
I am very satisfied with his work. I brought my son for a haircut. Alex did a same great quality work. He listened to my teenage son — understanding what he wants and suggested best hairstyle for him. My son loves his new haircut.
I also watched Alex cut a 4 yrs old boy while I am waiting. He is great with the boy.
Alex is a people person — details in his works — great service.
I have been in Houston almost 2 yrs, try quite a few salon — big disappointment.

I’ve been going to Susan hair for years and i always satisfied when i left there. Kim is the best hair stylist ever. She always does a excellent job on my hair, cares about my hair, and gives me a best price too. So everyone need hair cut or dye ur hair, go to Kim. I got my red hair and it lasts for me 6 months, and i just got my ombré hair, so in love w it. Thank you so much Kim.

Getting my haircut here was a really great experience. Kim did my hair and she’s really great at what she does. She’s very friendly and can speak English well so I was very comfortable with her. At first I didn’t want to get my hair too layered but after seeing her work I was confident she knew what she was doing. I agreed after she suggested to layer it up more and glad I did coz now my hair looks awesome and get a lot of compliments for it. Best part, the haircut only cost $ 30 and to get that from someone who’s had 16 years experience of cutting hair it was such an awesome deal (unlike other salons where «senior» hairstylist will charge you an arm and a leg for a trim) Will definitely be a regular here and maybe try their hair treatments next time.

I made an appointment with William after seeing his name repeatedly on Unilocal.I hop around with my hair stylists because I never seem to find one that I really like. This time though, I really love the haircut William gave me. I like that he analyzed my face shape and really considered how the cut will look on me during the process. I will continue to come to him from now on!

I absolutely adore William! Thanks to Unilocal I found William and have been coming to him for almost a year now. I come to him for my regular hair cut, and every time I tell him the same thing: do whatever you think looks good and keep my hair long. Not once had he disappointed me. He always gives me a trendy hair cut that complements my face. Always come out looking fabulous.
I do recommend calling in before hand to make sure there is an appointment available. He is pretty busy especially on the weekends. I pay $ 38 before tips for my hair cut and just love it!

I have been wanting to ombré my hair, so I went straight to Unilocal and ran across this wonderful place.
I called on a Friday and was able get in to see Kim on Sunday. I was pleased with the short wait to see someone whom was described as super busy!
The location is fairly convenient, even though it’s in the middle of street construction.
My friend and I walked in and were immediately greeted. About 2 minutes later, Kim came and got me and the consultation began. She asked me what I was looking for and asked to see pictures, if I had any and asked questions regarding my hair history (color, etc) once I told her what I was looking for, she gave her suggestions and the coloring process began. I appreciated that she listened, but as a professional, she gave her opinion. How many times have we walked out of there thinking, why didn’t they say something?
During the whole process, she was fully focused on me and what she was doing. I didn’t feel as if she was rushing or cutting corners, while people where coming in and out! Once my head was foiled up and getting HBO :-) I sat only a couple of minutes for the dye to do it’s job.
After cut, color and keratin treatment, I loved the results. The final product was better than I expected.
Kim is wonderful at what she does and she will be getting my business from now on. She is fast, effective and very friendly.

Kim is the best. I have been taken care by her for over five years. She is almost the reason why I stay in this town! Can’t live without her.
