Worst experience of my life. Came in to get a shellac manicure and pedicure done by a professional, however I seemed to have gotten one from a five year old. The job was so poorly done and even after coming back to get it fixed a second time my nails didn’t show any improvement. The shellac on my nails peeled off on most of my nails just 2 hours after leaving the salon. To which i was told that the chemicals in the shellac didn’t get along with my body chemicals. Like seriously!!! I was supposed to get french tip toes, but umm I have no clue what that was.

My office recieved a gift card for $ 600 towards a mani/​pedi and facial/​massage party. It was a bit difficult to set an appointment since they seemed to be all over the place with their schedule. Upon arrival, I could tell this was unlike most spas. The older woman who greeted us behind the reception desk was truly a sweetheart. She seemed very nice and asked us to wait or choose from colors on the wall. I was seperated from my group since we had to take turns getting massages.
The massage was pretty good! I liked the masseuse (even though she was a little chatty). I enjoyed her services and she made me feel comfortable. She did tell me that she usually feels out customers on whether or not they want to be talked to. I didn’t mind it, but some other customers do and she respected my much quieter coworker’s massage experience. I felt that this was the best experience at the spa.
The pedicure was mediocre and it seemed a bit rushed. The maniucre was very, very bad. Please don’t get me wrong; I really liked the people who worked there. They seem like hard-​working individuals who are trying to make ends meet, but I don’t think the salon business might be for them. The location, the ambience and the service areas are not up to par with spas I’ve been to. Even basic nail salons I’ve been to were much better looking than this spa.
When I asked for shellac, the lady wanted to upcharge me (even though I brought a $ 600 gift card in). When I said that was okay, she actually said no because she «had another appointment». I was there for over two to three hours and she did not have another appointment. She made the older woman who was initially the receptionist do my manicure while she made phone calls. The manicure wasn’t done well and they were very stingy with their polish.
I almost feel guilty for posting this because the ladies who worked on me were very kind (I tipped accordingly), but it seems as the owner/​manager of the salon is not capable of handling it. If you want customers to come back, you need to accomodate them at least minimally.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, nice experience at a spa or salon, I would not reccomend. If you’re looking for a decent message at a place nearby your area, I would tell you sure; I guess, why not? Otherwise, find another place. The Unilocal rating on this place is low for a reason.

I have been to Spa Lounge twice now, and I absolutely love it and will keep going back. The first time I went I had bought a Groupon for a Shellac manicure and a spa pedicure. The second time, I was still only charged the Groupon price– it is a part of their loyalty program I think. I love this little place because it is very clean, small, and the nail technicians are not Vietnamese ladies talking about you in their language. Dee Dee, the manager, is very friendly and she actually remembered me from my first visit. They really try to get to know their customers. Dee Dee took so much time doing my pedicure and manicure. She was never rushed and she made sure I had a great experience. I would HIGHLY recommend Spa Lounge, and ask for Dee Dee.

In Houston for my G’ma birthday. Came here with a group of 12. Called them yesterday. It’s great! Got a package deal that was amazing n gave my G’ma a little extra for her birthday. The was mimosas, muffins n turkey rolls to snack on. Massages, facials, mani n pedis with $ 8 for eyebrows. Great selection of colors n it was quick. Love.

I have really mixed emotions about this place. It definitely isn’t the nicest of facilities but it gets the job done and for cheap. Most of the ladies are nice too. Definitely not «spa» worthy for the lack of luxury though. I bought a Groupon for a $ 30 Shellac manicure and pedicure which is a great deal and they honor it every time I go in which is nice. However, one morning I went after a run around 9:30 cause their website said that’s when they open. I arrived and the doors were locked so I called their number and the lady that answered said they didn’t open until 10:30. I mentioned their website stated differently and she said oh that’s only with an appointment. Well they should note that. I also tried to go again yesterday around 4 and there was only one girl there and she said to come back at 6. Just really inconvenient for a walk-​in place like most nail salons are.

This was the WORST Nail salon I have ever been to in 20 years. I cant say one good thing about the experience at all. No business certificates on wall and no certificates for individual employees. Prices on the website are not the prices in store (much lower in store, which basically made my groupon worthless). Prices for what I got would have been $ 35 (Groupon was $ 32) but it should have been $ 10.
When I called to make an appointment, I was questioned again and again, «When do you want to come in». I said today if there is an opening. Instead of telling the times available, they would just ask when do you want to come in. It was very unprofessional.
Polish selection was horrible and displayed terribly. About 65 polishes colors which really isn’t that many. Most salons have about 300. I brought my own but had I want that color or something similarly colored I would have sadly mistaken.
Walls are just painted cinder blocks with a sheer crooked curtain to divide waiting room and salon area. No wall décor at all! Only 3 stations for manicures which is a one long poorly hand made table decorated with broken glass ornaments covered in lacquer (so tacky). There are 3 pedicure tubs but they are broken. Screens broken and you can barely feel the massage. Tubs are not sanitized or cleaned after use. Stainless tools are not in sanitized bags but in sandwich baggies. No sanitizing equipment anywhere. They don’t scrub your feet with pumice blocks but with a peel-​and-​stick emery board sticker on a metal file (didn’t do much for me). Foot/​leg massage was blah.
My manicure was no frills. Chairs you sit in are well worn and very shabby looking. Massage was just blah. I am glad I didn’t get color on my hands because my toe nail polish was uneven and on my skin. It was heavy in the center of the nail and near the skin it was very thin.
The whole vibe of this place is «garage style». Like I could have set up a nicer salon in my garage for the kids nail salon experience & made it look nicer. This place has been here for quite sometime (at least a year) and you would think improvements would have been made by now. I have no idea how they stay in business.
I was the only person in the salon the entire time and I had a nice manicurist (the manicure and pedicure was horrible but she wasn’t rude, just unprofessional). Maybe because she hadn’t gone to school (they were no certificates anywhere). And I was fortunate enough (sic) to listed to the owner conduct business while I was there.
In total I was there over an hour and a half because I had to do the pedicure first and then the same girl did my manicure. I should have been outta there in an hour if someone had done my nails s the same time. Needless to say, I will never step foot in this place again. I wish some of these reviews were up before I purchased the groupon back in May. Even if they paid me $ 20 to come back I wouldn’t …it was that bad.

DO NOT goto this glorified nail salon. They should be sued for fraud and false advertisement to call themselves a SPA, because nothing could be further from the truth. We made a 10:00 am appointment for my friends birthday, and there were four of us and we had each purchased a Groupon spa package which included a shellac manicure, pedicure, one hour massage, and for an additional $ 25, a facial.
The first clue that this place was subpar was that it was in a strip mall, the décor was cold, sterile, and extremely dirty. The face pillow on my massage table was broken so I literally had to continue to turn my head every so often in order to take breaths during the massage, you don’t receive new clean bathrobes or slippers, they appear not to have been washed and just re-​hung after each use. There is no locker area to store your personal clothing and things so they just hang in the hallway. In between services, your just out in the open in your robe. The manicure was rushed and the polish wasn’t down to the nail bed and it appeared like a one week grow-​out. The massage was enjoyable, as was the facial but overall this place needs to be shut-​down by the health department.
If the Groupon is too good to be true… don’t buy it because it’s likely a dump like this place. I don’t expect it to be in existence for very much longer. AVOID!

I received a Groupon from my boyfriend for Spa Party 2 U (which is why he is on probation for the next two years). This place is horrifying. There was dead skin in the water that soaks your feet for a pedicure. The woman (small asian) got upset with me after the second time I begged her to make the water warm (it was FREEZING). That’s when I noticed the floating skin. She did not cut or file my nails during my mani or pedi! What the heck? Also, when she was doing my mani, she did ONE layer of polish. Huh? And then she got upset when I pleaded to do at least one more. I couldn’t have run out faster. I was in tears on my way home. My cuticles were not cut, either.
The condition of the «spa» is just dirty. Any woman experienced in nail salons will immediately recognize the cut nails on the floor, the loose hair in the massage/​facial rooms, the disgusting GREEN water used to clean the tools.etc.
I do plan to file a complaint with TDLR. I would be concerned if my mother came here to get her nails done. Please, reconsider. I do hope that some of you visit and also report this business to TDLR after you see the conditions.
Their credit card machine was down upon my visit… I left without leaving a tip…

all i have to say is how is this place even a business ! waste of my time and money walked out half way through the place is literally a shit hole and no one knows whats going on or how to even do a mani they arent certified ! my massage sucked mani was done half assed no soak no scrub no massage do not waste your money like i did

I liked this place. I bought a Groupon for the shellac mani and pedicure, and I enjoyed both. Deedee did my mani and Lynn did my pedi.
Before I even went in, I was pleased with their service. I called to schedule an appointment and there was no answer. However, within minutes, I received a call back asking if I had called Spa Lounge and if I needed to schedule an appointment. I was very happy with this follow up, and was able to schedule my appointment at a desired time.
The nail polish area is a little messy, but Deedee helped me pick a color and found a hot pink I really love. She noticed my previous mani had glitter on top and showed me some glitter options if that was a style I liked. The shellac manicure is really smooth and glossy, which I love, so I skipped the glitter this time. I will echo another reviewer’s sentiment in that the polish isn’t quite all the way to the base of my nail, so it does look like there is a little growth. Not a huge deal, but I’d mention it on my next visit and hope it could be fixed. My nails were filed very evenly to my exact specifications on length and shape.
The pedicure Lynn gave me was enjoyable. I had a glass of Moscato and sat in a big comfy massage chair. My feet aren’t as well kept as my hands, so she had a big task ahead of her, but she took her time with making my feet look presentable for the summer. The spa pedicure included 2 different scrubs, a mask and massage with lotion, in addition to the standard filing and trimming and painting of the toenails.
I found the space to be nice and clean. You can tell they are still settling in and I overheard another tech saying how everyone is still trying to get their station together to permanently arrange things.
I prefer just quiet relaxation and getting lost in my thoughts during a spa service, so I really enjoyed that the employees didn’t try to talk to me too much. They were friendly and would initiate small talk, but if I didn’t elaborate, they wouldn’t push the subject or keep on chattering.
Also, one reviewer noted that they don’t use brand new tools for each customer. That is true of clippers and metal tools (aren’t these reused everywhere?) but I clearly saw them spray or dip each metal tool in alcohol before using it. The files and buffers used on me were new from the package.
On my way out, Deedee told me that if I get the shellac mani and pedi 5 times, that they then give me a shellac mani for free.
Overall, these are nice women running a good new small business. It’s in a great location near my house, so I’ll be back. For this neighborhood, I’d recommend this salon over any other.

Lack of communication to say the least. I’ve tried to book an appointment at least 3 times and they failed to call me back and/​or email me.
I finally was able to book an appointment and they were an hour late. On top of that I went with a friend to get our massages together and they changed both our appointment times. Therefore it made our stay even longer. I won’t be back nor will I recommend my friends.

I love it. It is very relaxing and professional. It reminds me of some of the spas in Palm Springs the Spa capital. The tranquil rooms and gentle treat made me want to go back weekly.

Do not recommend. They used same nail equipment on all customers. I saw no sanitizing equipment which in my opinion is very gross. Poor nail polish selection and very unorganized

I tried this salon because I thought it was a great deal on Living Social. My 1 hour massage appointment was scheduled for 10am. The massage started at 10:15am, the therapist finished the message at 10:50am. During the message the therapist’s music played commercials, she had poor customer service, during the commercials I could hear the male repair man talking right outside my door.
While I was receiving my manicure, one of the employee’s family stop by to visit. They had a loud conversation about food and gambling in the middle of the salon…
The atmosphere in general is far from relaxing, and the customer service definitely needs improvement. Unfortunately Houston has too many excellent salons for me to recommend this one. The poor atmosphere overshadowed the message and mani/​pedi I received.

Purchased groupon for $ 35 for a shellac mani and spa pedi. The groupon states that it’s worth $ 75, however, when I inquired my nail technician about the original price, she told me it was only worth $ 45. Hmmmm…
Nail Tech, Deedee, was pleasant and told me she had been doing this for over 20 years, however, I felt VERY rushed as my appointment was at 530 and I didn’t see her until after 6 because she was the only person there at the end of the day on a Friday. My biggest complaint — my nails weren’t painted all the way to the cuticle or sides so it looks as if i have had about 1 week’s growth!
The interiors aren’t even finished yet and it looks a tad messy and definitely not presentable. Nail polish selection was sparse. How do you open a nail salon with barely any nail polishes? She informed me they weren’t honoring walk in appointments yet — only groupons and their regular customers. So if you’re not yet officially open, why would you want to introduce your new business this way to potentially new clients?!
Not really a great experience for a new client that was looking for a regular salon to go to .
Update: read a review that she’s been a customer for 18 years, but How is that so when just opened up this business in a brand new shopping plaza?
