Always been a favorite of mine. There is always a live band on the weekends, but I prefer the quieter back room. The back room is like stepping into a Sherlock Holmes movie. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the bartenders are always friendly.

Definitely had fun. The pub is a bit small but it’s such an amazing atmosphere. The live band that played the night I went to was great. Clean. and doesn’t smell like smoke! An awesomeee plus! Definitely would go again.

Looking for a great casual spot for any day of the week? This is your place. This pub is huge compared to other Baker’s St. Pubs. It has three separate rooms: a pool table room(4 pool tables) with a bar, stage room with seating and room for dancing, and then also a darts room with another bar. There is plenty of room for mingling inside and also outside on their patios. Bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. Downfall: wine selection here really stinks, but then again it is a pub. The pub itself is hard to find. It’s actually located in the back of the strip center behind the Starbucks. Mixed drinks are typically $ 6 depending on the type, beers are $ 4. Pool tables cost $ 1.00 in quarters, but darts are FREE! They have random bands come and play. The two times I’ve visited this location the bands were alright, but nothing really great. They typically do covers of mixed music from the 80s, 90s and on up. I come here for more of the ambience and casual atmosphere. It gets very loud once the band plays so be prepared for that, the patio may be the way to go. I’m looking forward to coming here for Trivia Night!

I went to this place for a meet up with coworkers on a Friday evening. The crowd was mixed, and middle age(mid 20s — 50s) There was good music played by a live performer. The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. The crowd thickened a little after 9:00pm, but still good crowd, smooth traffic inside. The seating arranged outside is somewhat private, good for a small group or a couple. This place is good for drinks after work, or night time fun with friends.

Don’t send a fat fuck to critique my appearance. Your service sucks and your dress code is discriminatory.

This place is always packed during happy hour. Two reasons: 1) free snacks(chips & queso, mini corn dogs, veggies, etc) 2) There are a lot of companies in the area. People need to get their drink on after work. The service is OK. Their beer menu is nothing special.

Wonderful laid back place. Live music and wonderful staff. Crazy good burgers cooked by a guy named Chad on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I will be back for sure!!!

I’m a sucker for Baker’s St. All the locations are really cool and consistent but for some reason this one is especially fun! For starters, it is huge and in a great location. It has multiple levels, indoor tables, games and outdoor seating. This weekend I ran into one of my favorite Austin groups, Electric Circus which was an awesome surprise! The only downside I’ve got is the drinks are pricey! However, you’re sure to meet some really interesting people at this location as it seems«friendlier» and«more outgoing» than the other locations.

This place has a wonderful set up. Any place that has big comfy chairs and beer is the place for me. It is a bit expensive for me, their ambiance is amazing!!! This place is comfy, multi-level, awesomeness! The drinks are more on the pricey side but I hear there is good entertainment.

Nice bar with a good atmosphere, but I was surprised that they were out of so many ingredients for drinks on a Saturday night at 9PM. They couldn’t make any mules because they didn’t have ginger beer, and there’s an entire section of their menu just for mules. They couldn’t make mojitos because they were out of mint. I asked about some other drinks, and our waitress had to check the menu to see what they required and to make sure they could actually make the drink. That being said, the drinks I was able to order were very reasonably priced. The menu said they offer fajita tacos from 9PM — close on Fridays and Saturdays, so I was excited to get some food also. Unfortunately, the waitress told us the only food they had tonight was burgers, so I got that instead. It hit the spot and was only $ 5, so I was pretty satisfied, though I’m not sure why they didn’t have the other food as was advertised. There was also a live band that started at 10, and they played some great songs! I would probably come back here, but just be wary that they might not have the drinks you want.

For Westchase this place isn’t bad. They have the best craft beer selection after Vintropolis(the wine bar next door). Cocktails aren’t bad but nothing to rave about. What i want more than anything here is better music. They always have live bands on the weekends but it is almost exclusively 80’s… Kill me please. We need to upgrade a decade to the 90’s… Get some grunge, rock, even old school hip hop. For real, i’ll come for a drink cause its close and just cant do the 80’s scene. Update the music a decade and the cougars will still come. I promise.

As much as I like to frequent this place because of its easily accessible location, the last visit here really turned me off. We put in our happy hour drink order seven minutes before happy hour was over, and when the waitress came back, she told us we had to pay full price because the computers inside were five minutes fast, and they would not let her charge us happy hour prices. I was staring at my watch as she was saying this, and it was indeed still five minutes before nine. I wanted to speak to the manager, but my companion said it wasn’t worth the hassle, so I didn’t not make a complaint to the manager, though I let the waitress know how I felt about the situation. I’m not sure if the waitress was bsing us, or if the manager is aware and cares not that their system is actually fast, and they are ripping customers off. Either way, watch out. The crowd here is usually very loud. It’s mostly people in their twenties hanging out in larger groups. Nice outdoor patio. There’s a doorman too checking IDs and such.

Nice pub, well located, great service and has the provision for sitting outside & sipping your drinks. All around people watching location. No matter whenever you go(weekday weekend) this place is always full of lively people. On the weekends, they host awesome live bands, mostly rock-n-roll, hard rock and old school 80s music. Oh, I love the inexpensive drinks and beware, on the weekends, parking could be catastrophic as well.

All of Bakers Street’s pubs are British but I think this one has a more east-London, punk rocker look to it. While the other two Baker Street pubs I’ve been to are decorated in a more subtitle way, Sherlocks is designed in a more brazen, colorful way(funny English art and bright blue & red colors). The only thing missing is a doorman dressed up as a redcoat or The Queen’s Guard sentry at the entrance. The ambiance is laid back + casual. It gets pretty packed on Fridays and Saturdays. Come here if you want to dance, shoot some pool, play darts or lounge around. You can also come here to watch the Rockets games here while you have some drinks. Note: the beer selection is average at best but the bartenders are pretty good. Music wise, they usually play the top 40, which is cool with me. There’s two levels but the upstairs is quieter than the first. Overall, a cool bar to go to in the West-Westheimer/Westchase area. They have tons of parking so you don’t have to worry about not finding a place to park like some other bars during the weekend. My overall grade: B

I’m not one to write reviews and usually use Unilocal as a resource to check out other venues than a place to laud preferred establishments or critique those that didn’t appeal to me. That being said, my experience at Sherlock’s wasn’t the best due to the manager or someone in charge. I wake up everyday at 4 a.m. and work until 4 – 6 depending on the day. So yesterday, was another long week. After convincing me that this bar was pretty amazing, my boyfriend took me here and from the outset it seemed like a great venue. The layout is great with each room providing a distinct atmosphere. There was the sports bar, lounge area, outdoor area, it does provide something for everyone. There was even a silly live band that was entertaining playing lots of early 90s/late 80s rock classics. This should have easily been a four star review, but unfortunately I dozed off for a few minutes.(Apparently no more than five, from what I was told. Again, long week.) The manager comes rushing over telling us I can’t sleep and insinuated if I didn’t wake up immediately we’d have to leave. I became alert as he ranted how it would look bad for the place to have an obviously drunk person in the place. Now fully awake, he realized I wasn’t a sloppy drunk, but just tired. He himself was caught off guard when he had to admit to himself I was in fact ok. He was rude about the whole thing and could have handled it better. I was willing to let it go provided he reacted the same way to all sloppy drunks and those who he wasn’t so certain about. I went to another part of the bar to stand up a and enjoy the rest of my night. I was paying attention to the bar manager afterwards and noticed he conveniently ignored the drunk who was trying to do handstands in front of the band, or the fact the girls tried to show skin to the band, which presumably would be an issue to the bar manager.(Sherlock’s seems to be a place for people wanting a good time and to relax, not a bar for sloppy drunks and wild college party girls. I can respect that, but not if you pick and choose which customers to chastise for egregious behaviors.) There was even a drunk outside who literally couldn’t stand up and no one told her to mosey her way out of the bar. One woman the bar manager wanted to reprimand for taking some type of food to another part of the bar was allowed to do what she wanted after she quickly danced/grinded on him and went her merry way.(No, I definitely wasn’t going to twerk in front of the manager for better service.) So one drink and dozing off, makes the bar look terrible. Drunk females that can’t stand without almost falling outside, another woman making a fool of herself in front of a 90s/80s rock band, and a woman violating whatever odd food policy they have is A OK. Maybe it’s just me, but I think lacking the ability to pass a road field sobriety test and being allowed to continue makes a bar look much worse than dozing off and waking up promptly after. However, to be fair, my boyfriend told me that Sherlock’s does that at times and there will be nights they over react towards the tiniest display of drunkenness. Again, I get that, but if that’s your policy… do that to everyone. They weren’t even consistent with their own policy of not blocking the stairs connecting the various rooms. They forced people to move at the stairs but allowed a larger sized employee to stand there to… block the way? I would have said they were doing it to prevent potential fire hazards, but obviously it was another display of picking and choosing when to follow the rules.(Technically, even the employee shouldn’t have blocked that stairway. Yeah, you’re big and imposing, which makes other people not want to stand there, but the reason most businesses keep stairs clear is due to various fire codes. Not for aesthetics.) I don’t think it’s a lot to expect people to treat you with respect and hold everyone to the same standard if you’re going to make a scene out of it. I can’t see myself wanting to try this bar again. With the amount of bars available in Houston there are better ones with friendlier management that can handle all situations in a professional manner and can tell the difference between someone needing a cab ride home and someone who embarrassed themselves by accidentally tripping or dozing off.(Could you imagine the amount of people you’d have to throw out of movie theaters for the same offense?) Just know this place is hit or miss, but really why take the risk, when your money can best be spent elsewhere? Pros: Layout of the bar, overall atmosphere when management and hyper vigilant employees are not around, various rooms for you to choose from, the crowd is generally easy going and laid back Cons: Management, older drunk women(Sherlock’s doesn’t have a lot of them, but if your goal is to be a «classy» bar that isn’t helping), drink prices, there could be more bathrooms, food options

Oh Sherlocks! The place where I would be 7 days a week back in the day. My Brother and sister n law were in town and some friends of ours wanted to meet them there. It has been a long long time since I have been here and when I went in it was a totally different environment. Everything was different. I was shocked. The design was the same but it was a whole new atmosphere. Sherlocks back then had the same people going all the time. Not anymore! We went up to the pub area and I noticed even all the bartenders has changed it was just weird to me. I guess when you have spent a whole lot of time in a place that you used to be in and you go back after many years I am sure you would find it different. The service there is still good and they are always running nightly specials. Over all this place is good to go with a group of people and there are great bands that play there weekly so make sure you have an event calendar. There is games and great music at all times.

I love this bar! The set up is not not too shabby. The inside is sloped up with mini steps along the way. You have your pool tables, air hockey. You have two different bars on the main floor and the stage for the live band. And then on the very top level, there’s an area that’s separated from the main floor. It’s more chill up there and it’s my favorite spot to just sit and drink. Yes, you’ll miss out on the live band or the people, but if you just want to drink. then it’s the best spot. I only come here on Fridays or Saturdays but the last time I came in, one of the bartenders told me that on Mondays, they have $ 2+ drinks. For example, my favorite drink — Crown and Sprite — would only be $ 2.25 or $ 2.75 or something like that and it goes on all night from 5 pm — 2 am. Guess where I’ll be spending my Monday nights? Drinks are generally cheaper compared to other bars. My Crown and Sprite usually run me around $ 7.50 — $ 8.50 at any bar on Washington or Midtown/Downtown area. Here? Only $ 6.75. Yeah, it’s not that much cheaper, but hey, they add up! Parking is plenty even on the weekends. This is due to the bar located inside a huge shopping center with plenty of parking. The bouncer has always been chill and never gave me a hard time to get inside the bar unlike some other more pretentious bars. Fair to say that this is my most frequented bar in Houston. Especially since this place is only five minutes away from where I live.

You don’t care for the crowd downstairs, then move upstairs. That’s where I spent the majority of my night and it was laid back and cool as hell up there! I really only ventured downstairs for the free food. Just some light bites but more than enough to hit the spot. Have no idea about the prices of anything as it was covered by someone else beginning to end. Definitely my type of drinking, to say the least. The beers were good and cold and the snakebite was delicious until apparently they couldn’t get anymore cider. UGH that was pretty early on so I was lil ticked about that but what could I do. The service was standard, bathroom small but decent. With all that drinking, I must have utilized it at least 3 times. Down side of drinking…
