Good food. Over priced, service is quick and to the point. Pass this place by a lot, because I’m not in the mood for the enery of the environment

Stopped by Specks hungry and saw this little hole in the wall. Ordered the chicken salad and potato soup. Can I tell you the food was great. The place is small but the food made up for it.

Great food. Everything is good, take out portions are smaller versus sitting down to eat in the restaurant.

Rude. We got take out. There was serious attitude while we looked and the menu and ordered like we were wasting her time by not already knowing what we wanted. There was one other couple and they were already eating. Shandy practically threw the food at us when it was ready. So bizarre since we’ve been there before with no problems. For sure never returning now. The food is average/okay, nothing special but fine if you want to stop somewhere super casual.

Shandy’s Buffalo Burger: Best healthy burger — with Real Meat! — in town!

This place is small, cute and close enough to walk to. Food was decent but way overpriced. When we came in, Shandy put two tables together for our group of 5 and took our drink orders. After reading reviews, we made sure to know exactly what we wanted when we ordered. Everything went smoothly like a quick, simple, cordial business transaction. There wasn’t much friendliness or interaction other than the minimal required. I had the turkey burger. It was a very flat, thin burger, and the meat was overcooked. The fries were really good, though. I asked for no mayo, mustard, or pickles, and I’m glad they got the order right. Decent meal, average portion, way overpriced. Friends had turkey club sandwich, chicken Caesar, mushroom swiss burger, and a chicken salad sandwich combo with potato soup. Turkey club– good but on the small side. Chicken caesar– the chicken was really good Mushroom swiss– okay, slightly better than my turkey burger since it was juicier Sandwich combo– the potato soup is different, kind of spicy There were two women with their babies eating next to us, and their babies made a mess on the floor. When they were leaving, Shandy came over and was not happy. She snapped for the worker to bring a broom and walked off saying, «this is ridiculous.» She’s not the warmest host, but seriously, you should clean up after your child.

Great cozy spot. Shandy always is smiling. The food is fresh, healthy and yummy try the French Pinot Noir with the bread less Tuna. Tiny, unassuming neighborhood café.

Came here completely randomly for lunch after a run at Memorial Park. Service was quick, menu was diverse, and food was great. Spinach artichoke turkey burger is yummy. This place is a lot better than it looks on the outside!

Perfect little café. Chicken salad sandwich is a home run. The take home message is the food is incredibly fresh– no other way to describe it. Give lunch a try

Good, fresh food at Shandy’s. It’s a small spot, but super cozy and quick. It’s the kind of place you’d overlook if you didn’t hear from someone you know that you should check it out. Thankfully, a friend recommended it to me along with the chicken salad sandwich… which it absolutely a must if you go to Shandy’s.

Yikes! This wasn’t a good stop… Maybe an off day? The water tasted dirty. The chicken was dry… So dry… Burger was over cooked… Only thing good… The fries.

The place is a hole in the wall but the food is incredible. I have tried their burgers, sandwiches and salads and i have yet to find something that I don’t like. the service is super quick which I like a lot.

Not sure what to say about this place. It’s a nice little joint and the owner was really nice, but the chicken sandwich I had was a little dry. This is a place that I will have to go to again before I draw a definite opinion. But I’ve lived two blocks away for almost a year and this was my first time to visit. There is definitely a steady flow of customer who love this place, just not sure it’s for me. Will give an update upon my return.

Food was great! Everything was fresh and brought out quickly. Definitely will be back. Had the blue cheese burger and my friend had the tuna, chicken and pasta salad. We both enjoyed and will meet there again.

Shandys is my favorite lunch spot. The food is amazing and service is wonderful. Shandy always gets my ice tea right when I sit down as she knows I always want it. She remembers her customers! My kids love it here and they swear her pasta with cheese is the best in the city. I love all her salads and sandwiches. She has these white powdery cookies that we love and I get some to go every time. The best lunch spot — cozy and great food.

I’ve been coming here occasionally for a few years, and have yet to have anything but a great meal. Fantastic sandwiches, perfect pasta, and one of the best salads around. Regardless of my entrée, I always get a side of fries too. They’re just the best basic French fries around.

Had the steak sandwich with blue cheese vinaigrette. Delish. Wish there was more meat and fries but what was there was exceptional. Shandy is like the soup nazi — no warm fuzzies there.

I got ripped off here. The other day I asked to have some extra veggies added to a dish, and the owner(Shandy) refused to mix them in. She said she would only put them on the side. She charged me for 3 extra side orders(one for each veggie) unbeknownst to me until I got the bill… An extra $ 16 bucks! I was so upset, she totally knew what I was asking for but found a way to shake me for a few extra bucks. I’m a young college student and I don’t have a lot of money. Eating out in the first place is considered a «splurge» for me. I can’t believe she would do that to me, I will never go back. One more thing– as other customers have noted, Shandy is really rude. But I thought it was just her personality. Then my boyfriend pointed out that she is EXCEPTIONALLY nice to certain individuals… Particularly the ones who are wealthy. And he’s dead on… I mean she does a complete 180, to the point where she’s practically kissing ass. It’s disgusting.

This place is a no frills good food, kind of a hole in the wall place. While the location and décor are a bit lacking, Shandy makes up for it in her food. I always get the tuna sandwhich — the bread is amazing and so is the chipotle mayonaise. It comes with fries that are really good, but can easily be substituted for a salad or soup. The black bean soup is very good, but is pretty spicy. The only waiteress, I believe its Shandy herself, is quite intense. No small talk, all business, get your order ready and spit it out. Don’t forget anything you want to add/order because when you’re done talking its on to the next order. She’s pretty buff too, I am definitely afraid of her.

All Sandwiches on Ciabatta Bread Served with Fries. CREAMYCHICKENSALADSANDWICH $ 8.99 Shredded Chicken Breast, with Chipotle Mayonnaise, Pecans, Celery, Roma Tomato & Green Leaf Lettuce. Add Sliced Avocado $ 9.99 With a description like this, how can one go wrong. I love checking out local and small, off the beaten path if you will. This little spot had some high recommendations from some friends, but I was a BIT disappointed. Yes, the café is small… no problem; yes, it’s frequented by the neighbors… there were some cuties in there… yet Shandy’s did not deliver. The sandwich was mediocre. The fillings were scant… I am willing to shell out 10 big ones for a sandwich, but!!! The chicken was a smidge flavorful, just not up to par. .the veggies that were put on my sandwich were wilted and simply not fresh. Tried to make conversation with the«owner/cashier», but it seemed I was a bother to her. She was having her lunch right there at the register… if you don’t want small talk please take a lunch break !!!
