Rude staff, disorganized, and no one ever get’s back to you. Would be nice to find a tattoo parlor with the staff actually there. I left my information in person, and via email on two occasions with not one call back. If you get the vibe your bothering a tattoo artist, move on to someone who wants to help you.

My mom and I walked in together on a Monday afternoon, and were received by Dan. He was very informative and nice, and walked us through the process, as it was both of our first tattoos. Despite having to train someone that day, Dan took us as walk-​ins and did our tattoos in about an hour (they’re very small). He and the other artist were very nice and talked with us while we were getting the tattoos done, and the place was very clean. Between tattooing my mom and me, everything was switched out and cleaned. If you want a good tattoo at a safe, friendly place, definitely visit Scorpion Tattoo!

I have put this off for a while, but my tattoo is itching the heck out of me right now, so I’m just going to do it! Long story short, I searched for a good artist to do a cover up of a tramp stamp on my lower back and I wanted someone who did great color. I really liked Gabriel Massie’s portfolio, so I met with him, booked two 3 hr time slots and he drew up a cool design. The 1^st 3 hr session was for the outline and the second was 3 weeks later for color. During my 1^st session I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. I have other tattoos near the same area and I could not believe the amount of pain I was in. Then after that grueling 3 hours, I paid and confirmed my next appointment to get the color done and he sad, «No, its good like that, you don’t need color». So, he shaded it pretty heavily against my knowledge and decided for me that I didn’t need color. Ok, so I let it go, whatever. This was done 1.5 yrs ago and the tattoo puffs out like puff paint anytime my body heat rises and it itches like crazy. It takes up ½ of my back so the puffing and the itching is a real pain, especially when I exercise.
Fast-​forward to 3 weeks ago– I went to an amazing artist in Kauai that does beautiful color and asked her if she could add color to my tattoo. Once I lifted up my shirt, she gasped, gave me sympathy and asked me how bad that hurt! She said Gabe had a very heavy hand and scarred the shit out of me. She did my color, it looks beautiful, I’m really happy that I finally got what I had wanted 1.5 years ago. She said that the good news is that that outline’s not going anywhere, the bad news is that the tattoo will always puff up an itch. Bottom line is homeboys got a heavy hand and is not that interested in giving you exactly what you ask for.

After doing research and listening to recommendations from friends, decided to get my tiger half sleeve at Scorpion. Honestly, it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Ended up going with Tracy Lambright, who specializes in Japanese tattoos. This guy knows what he’s doing and what he’s talking about. Wanted a different tiger pose then those you see online, and he came up with a sick sketch. The rest of sleeve was freehand, which made me want to do my chest and soon to be full sleeve.
Shop is always clean, staff is extremely friendly, and environment makes you feel comfortable, which is important when you’re laying on a table for three hours at a time.
Recommended these guys to all my friends and randoms who ask where I got my piece done. These guys can get booked, so get you appointments in!

Tracy Albright did my work and he was awesome. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to work w a professional that is very knowledgable in all diff types of art/​artists. Clean lines and vibrant colors! I get complements on my arm sleeve everyday.

I friend referred me to Tracy Lambright at Scorpion Studios a year or so ago, and since then, I have had 5 – 6 sessions with him. I could not be more happy with the results. I brought some specific artwork for him to reproduce, and he exceeded my expectations — adding just enough of his personal touches to make it unique. Tracy works fast, but you never feel like you are a rush job. His prices are very much in line for the quality of work he delivers.
Tracy has a good reputation in the community, and is in pretty high demand — so whlie you may have to excercise a little patience getting on his schedule, he is well worth the wait. He is the only artist I trust with my skin.

I was a walk in and it was easy to get a tattoo done. Unfortunately, I forgot the guy’s name, but I think he’s the only one that does walk-​ins. He did a great job on my tattoo and was very nice.

Scorpion Studios has every thing you would expect from a high quality tattoo studio. Excellent quality of work, friendly and professional staff, and extremely clean work stations is what you’ll find here. I visited several different shops when I was looking to get my first tattoo and Scorpion stood out immediately with its knowledgeable and talented staff and its art filled walls. I would recommend this place (and especially Kevin Poon) to anyone looking for good quality tattoos.

I had an appointment. Got there early, first thing is no parking and to cross Westheimer is crazy. Got in therer found out my artist had quit, no call or anything else. Well one of the artist saw my design and said it was very detailed and probably wouldn’t look like it. They could take me in two hours. I looked around and everyone is getting tattoo’s right out in the open. This was my first and I am 57 years old and really did not like the set-​up or the attitude they had. I did get my tatto and it is wonderful, I went to Studio 8

Wanted to get my daughter’s name tattooed and this would be my first. When I started checking out options, one of my friends had very good things to say about this place and she had gotten her whole side piece done here. Could see good reviews on the Internet too.
Checked out their website, liked Gabriel Massey’s works and got an appointment. I explained him what I wanted and he came up with a good drawing which almost matched what I had in my mind. Still I wanted some changes and he was more than happy to resketch.
Tried stencils on my forearm, but it looked better on the chest. Li’l Gabe got it done quick and perfect. He just made the whole experience look easy. Appreciate it bro!
Already have started to plan for my next. Of course at Scorpion again!

Great shop with some extremely talented artists. If you’re looking for quality look no further. Not ridiculously priced by any means, but if you’re already worried about cost it’s probably best not to get one. Two large coverups done by Gabriel Massey, both blew me away! Look around at other places, but make sure to stop by Scorpion as it’s well worth your time checking out to get exactly what you’re wanting. I’ll definitely be seeing them again.

My sister and I went yesterday to get tattooed, and were SO IMPRESSED with this place.
We were walk-​ins (because our tattoos were pretty simple/​straightforward) but were still given amazing service!
Kevin was professional, kind, accommodating and patient. He did a phenomenal job!
Both of us have several other tattoos, and scorpion studios was definitely our best experience.

My sister and I came here on a whim and were not disappointed! We looked up Houston tattoo shops and the rave reviews led us to Scorpion. After calling in advance, we were able to see Steven as a walk-​in. This was my sister’s first tattoo and he was super accommodating. She emailed him a picture of what she wanted, he drew it up, and the tattooing process began! Steven was funny and so sweet the whole time –and the tattoo looked awesome! He even squeezed me in for a little piece on my ankle –which I love!
I’m not one for walk-​in tattoos… I’m big into planning WAY in advance for EVERYTHING… but I was highly satisfied with Scorpion. The staff is friendly, the shop is sanitary, and the prices are reasonable.

Came here once on a Monday. There is a big lack of professionalism here. Workers thoughts we were retarded; charging $ 250 for something really small. No thank you walk across the street and there is a better tattoo shop there.

Super happy with the custom work Gabriel Massey did for my husband and I yesterday. He took our somewhat vague ideas and was able to deliver awesome art that exceeded our expectations. I was really nervous about asking for any changes or giving input on what I wanted to see, but he made me feel totally comfortable so that I could have a wonderful one of a kind piece of art that I love top to bottom. Thank you! I highly recommend Gabriel Massey if you want something that is ‘just yours’. He was well worth the wait! (Book well in advance, you won’t be sorry!)

Is it me or should people who are looking to put something super permanent on your body, and get paid for it, treat the process with respect and professionalism? I mean, I’m not getting tear drops on my face in a dark corner at county jail, right? For as much money as the artist charge, I’ve experience a complete lack of professionalism and customer service from this studio.
I’ve unfortunately been disappointed by this Studio more than once now. The first time I decided to make an appointment with Gabe based on reviews and after seeing some of his work. We make an appointment, I show him what I would like, and he takes my deposit — so far so good. When I showed up for my appointment Gabe was nowhere to be found. After the front desk person and I called him repeatedly, he finally answered and, apparently, had forgotten completely about our appointment. We finally got it sorted out and I got my tattoo done. The art itself was pretty good (hence the second star) but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
Second chances! I go back and try a different artist. Same start: talk about concept, agree on a price and exchange money. The day before my appointment I send him the ideas he requested and a few hours later I received a note that he needs to reschedule. As of this afternoon the reschedule turn into a cancellation on his end. Apparently, he does not think he can do the style that I requested. While I appreciate the honestly, I would have appreciated it more before he took my money and wasted the time I could have used to look for a different artist.
A wise man once said «fool me once, shame on – shame on you. Fool me – you can’t get fooled again.» I can safely say that this is the last time Scorpion and I will be doing business.

So I was one of those dumb 18 year olds who go a way to big tramp stamp. I have been regretting it every day since. It took me a while to decide on a tattoo artist when I was dedicated to getting a cover up. I had looked in Miami, San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, etc. when I was in those cities but then realized there should be a local artist that I could get to and get the same work done.
I started looking around and passed up scorpion one day and decided to stop in. I looked at Tracy’s book and was blown away by his shading. He told me he normally does only big pieces which supported the pics in his book.
I had a design in mind that I wanted but after talking to Tracy he made me realize it was unrealistic and would not work well as a cover up. After a little more discussion he drew up a design and I loved it. Almost done with it now and ever since I had started it I have gotten compliments saying how awesome it looks, even before it was half way done.
The sessions always go smooth. Tracy walks me through what he gonna do before he goes to work on a certain area. If I have questions he answers them and never tries to BS me. The shop is always clean and the people are super friendly. I was ashamed to take my shirt of before because of my gaudy tramp stamp but now I have no problem. In fact I show it off any chance I get.
I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone getting a tattoo no matter how big or small. Definitely go to TRACY LAMBRIGHT to get a consultation especially if you are thinking of getting something big like a back piece.

Gabriel Massey is awesome. I gave him the basics of my idea and created the perfect tattoo for me. The shop is clean and fun and all the people I talked to were great. I an very happy with the results and now am planning to have Gabriel help me with my full bqck piece next

Very professional and great to work with! I had an idea in mind and they helped me to see it through all the way to the end. Friendly staff and VERY clean environment. I’m an ER nurse, so I was especially pleased with the cleanliness.

Failed to respond in a timely fashion then have the nerve to insult me by talking about my tattoo that needs to be covered. How unprofessional! Then have the audacity to not refund my deposit because of their lack of communication. Arrogance will cause you to lose customers regardless of your expertise. So my advice is if you want to make sure they can do the job, then have them look before paying a dime.
