Tori Castro is AWESOME!!! She did my blonde highlights and haircut, and I loved it! Instead of foil she used a new technique which is amazing, it felt great and the result was absolutely fabulous!!! Tori is great, I am SO coming back again!!:)))

I moved to Houston about a year ago. The hardest part of moving was finding a new stylist. I’m so glad to have found Brielle Lively. She’s great with color and she’s a great stylist. Also, she’s a very nice person. I highly recommend her.

went into Satori Heights Salon today to inquire about their services and was greeted by an older woman she was rude and not very helpful. most times when you walk into a salon for the first time you are always greeted by a very friendly receptionist not so @satori today not a very welcoming place not good people skills

When I first moved to Houston from California I didn’t know many people so no one could refer me to a good stylist. Drove by Satori when it was in Galleria area and walked in to try it out. The front desk had an open stylist and since then he’s been cutting my hair.
I met Quan about 8 years ago and even after moving back to California, I still fly back to see him every 6 weeks. He’s very detailed friendly, and always has my hair looking fabulous!

Absolutely love Huy! He listens to his clients and gives you exactly what you want! Every time I see him he outdoes himself whether it’s one color, cut or subtle highlights/​ombré. I am more than happy with the outcome every time I leave.

UPDATE: So Huy reached out to me after my previous review. He initially wanted to put a base color in and do a treatment for me. And then allow my hair to rest and then redo the highlights. I had really bad damage from the bleach (x2) so I decided I only wanted a conditioning treatment and then I could decide on the color later. He did the treatment for me, which saved my hair! I’ve posted pictures of my hair after treatment. I am thankful my hair isn’t falling out anymore BUT this whole process has been difficult. Long story short, the communications between Huy and I have just been too time consuming and much of a headache. I understand that reviews are important for your business but you don’t go retracting your rectifications (fixing my hair) and accusing your client of expecting «too much for free», especially when I offered to pay for all the services. I probably shouldn’t have even offered because all the mistakes were made on his end.
Anyways, he’s a super nice guy and very easy to talk to. and from what I can tell, wants his clients to be happy and holds pride in his work but in all honesty, I need a better listener as a hair stylist. Yes, I have expectations that the job be done right, and yes, the first time. Don’t we all?
I am still not 100% satisfied with the color. The front is too blonde, one side is more blonde than the other and when my hair falls naturally, you can see the clear separation from back to front. However, I’m sticking with the color mainly because I don’t want to go through this process again and will just have to maintain styling my hair daily to blend the color
As Huy said, we all make mistakes, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt he was having a bad few days. He has a number of great Unilocal reviews (which is why I went to him in the first place), so you can all judge for yourself. But I’ve shared my experience with you Unilocalers– enjoy!

William Guzman has been my stylist for over 7 years… cheated on him twice and utterly regretted them both. He recently fixed the last mishap flawlessly. William I am promising you now that I will never stray again! Thank you so much honey!

William has not only been my hair stylist for the past 20+ years, but he is also the hair stylist for my 3 other sisters and daughter. He specializes in long hair (which we all have) and we have never, ever been disappointed.
Oh, and he does special occasion hair. He did all of the bridal party for my sister’s wedding — TURNED OUT FABULOUS!!! My daughter’s hair for her prom — GORGEOUS!!! He will be doing my daughter’s hair for her Senior Graduation pics and any other photo ops and/​or special occasions that will be in her future.
Coloring — Yes, he does that also!!! And it looks so natural that you cannot tell that it has been touched up. In my own opinion, he is the best when it comes to coloring.
William is charming, welcoming and a true asset to Satori Heights!!!
He is the only person that we allow to touch our hair and that is saying ALOT!!! I recommend him to anyone and everyone that I know.

Brielle is the woman! I’ve been going to her since I moved to Houston two years ago and she’s fantastic. She does a great job with my hair, regales me with hilarious stories, and I had her color my hair a few months ago for the first time. I love it! I showed her what I liked and she offered some suggestions, and then she went to work on my color-​resistant hair. It turned out beautifully. I’m so happy with it.

Chantell Velasquez at Satori does my hair and color, she is very creative and always ready to create a cool look for me.
Satori has a relaxing vibe with lots of free parking right outside the door. Satori is right off of 10W and Taylor St. I couldn’t ask for a more convenient location with a great hair and color stylist.

I am a faithful customer of Chantell Velasquez she is an awesome hairstylist. I can always count on her to make me feel Beautiful ! She is creative and she always knows what to do to make me feel special.

Tom has been doing my highlights for 5+ years now — I have followed him since he was at Toni & Guy years ago. He is one of the few stylists who has ever been able to get my color right, and all the way to the roots. He always remembers my color so I never even have to tell him anything. Today I got extensions for the first time, and I LOVE them! They turned out amazing — you cannot even tell it’s not my real hair. Another stylist was even asking to watch Tom cut them so she could learn. Also, the new salon is beautiful. I highly recommend it and Tom! –BK

Finding a hair stylist is difficult. And finding one you trust is even harder. I’ve been going to Quan for the past 3 years and wouldn’t trust anyone else. He always anticipates how my hair will continue to grow after the cut which is such a relief. I usually go and tell him to do whatever he likes. Thats some trust if I’ve ever heard it. Besides Quan’s skill and down to earth attitude the atmosphere Satori provides in unmatched. Always a happy camper.

So where to begin?!? Oh how I love Mariko!!! Every time I leave the salon I feel like a million bucks. I have had 5 different hairstyles since I’ve been with Mariko (5 years)…what can I say she is that good. From long hair to pixie and now I’m at mid length hair. It isn’t easy to stay cute when transitioning from short to long, but with Mariko she always had my hair right. Yes and one more thing, I trusted her so much she did my first color service. I will never let anyone else do my hair!

First of all, I like to say I love the new spot Satori moved to. The new salon has an inviting industrial chic look with exposed ceiling, stained concrete, mixed media, fish tank, and free wine! But aside from the luxuries, this review is for Quan. This guy knows what he’s doing and is worth every penny. I’ve had to get cut from others on short notice before work events and when i compare what i get then to the work Quan does… actually there is no comparison. After a haircut from Quan, I always walk out feeling and looking like the strikingly handsome man I am ;p. I’m a guy with fairly short hair, and I go in about once every 3 – 4 weeks for my scissor cut. Quan pays attention to the littlest details and always gets it right. If I want to try something new, he’ll start doing it and before it’s too late, he’ll know whether it will work for me or not. This technical aspect and haircut intelligence if-​you-​will is hard to come by and he’s got it. Quan has saved me from some bad ideas and created great ones. I’ve also seen his work on my female friends and they are all totally «oh em gee, i love it!» as well. Check him out, you’ll love it too!

If I had known FIVE years ago that my friend of a friend hairstylist hook-​up would have been the answer to all my hair problems I would have come running YEARS ago. Mariko Is the BEST. Not only is she talented, in the «know» on the latest trends and BOMB at extensions… she is THE sweetest person alive. I recommend her and Satori a million times over. If you love to look good and be treated well… call Mariko at satori like right now!

My cut is very a very difficult one to get right ive gone to other stylists who always got it wrong and TOM has always gotten it just right. As far as color i have fallowed him since he was at Tony & Guy more then a decade ago and now as a specialists in color he has always transformed me through the years. Even the one time i went jet black at home he was able to color correct that in no time and make me red
was awesome! ! I think he is a highlight GENIUS! !!! He just has no trouble understanding your vision. He is very friendly and flexible and welcoming. Stays on top of all the hair fashions and doest lie to you about what looks good or bad on you which i think is just marvelous!
Book with him early in the week for weekend appointments as he does get busy but the wait is so well worth it .ive never been disappointed and neither has anyone of his clients that i have recommended in the past years.

I got there for a haircut, I’m new in town so I found this hairsalon by Unilocal.Noël took a good care of me. He washed my hair very gently and did exactly as I ask. Absolutly coming back to do my hair with him next time.

Tom is the best. I have been going to him for the past 10 years. He has dyed and cut my hair multiple times over the years. I am a very demanding client and expect perfection. Tom is able to give that to me because he is so patient with me.
He can get a little busy around the weekends, but I like that I can just text him to set up an appointment.
Satori is such a beautiful salon. It feels like the employees are a big family.

I love the new place! Location is great and plenty of parking. The natural light that comes through the glass windows is easy on the eyes & gives a great view. I’ve been getting my hair done by Mery Ann for years now, and I’m happy to follow her to the new location! Mery Ann turned my dark boring shoulder length hair into an cute hip bob with blond highlights that make me look like I’ve been on the beach all summer, I love it!!! Get your hair make over by Mery Ann, & look absolutely fabulous year round!
