I was referred to Sammy by a friend, but I will never use him again. Don’t get me wrong — he did great work on my car… it’s been a year, and I haven’t had any trouble with the repairs, but his attitude towards me was really crappy.
I dropped my car off when my check engine light came on, and Sammy called me later that day with a diagnosis and a few other repair suggestions that I already knew I needed, so he gave me a quote of $ 1,100 for all the repairs, and I agreed. Someone may try to refute this later, but I remember saying, «So $ 1,100 for everything?» and he confirmed. I also remember writing it down, because I was in the waiting room at my dentist’s office and I was taking notes of his repair suggestions. He also told me the car would be done at the end of the day, but when I called to check on it around 4:30, it wasn’t ready yet but he said it’d be done the next day. So the next day I called again at 4:30, and he raised his voice at me and said, «MA’AM, I WILL CALL YOU WHEN YOUR CAR IS READY.» Well excuuuuuuuse me, but there is no reason to speak to your patrons with that tone.
Several days later, he called and said my car was ready, and the total was $ 1,600…$ 500 more than what he quoted. When I asked him about the substantial price difference, he completely denied the $ 1,100 quote and insisted that he had always said $ 1,600. Maybe he misspoke when he first quoted me, but he DEFINITELY said $ 1,100 during our first phone conversation, and confirmed it when I read it back to him.
When I picked my car up, he had rotated my tires for free… which was nice I guess, but I had two new tires and two old tires, and he put the new tires on the front, which is actually really unsafe. So… thanks…I guess.
The real icing on the cake was when he tried to convince me to let him do my annual inspection, even though it wasn’t due for a month. This was when Texas was transitioning to one sticker, and I happened to be one of the lucky few who got to skip my annual inspection because my old inspection was still current when my registration was due (I checked the website
and confirmed this). I tried to explain it to Sammy, but he just started yelling at me about how he was friends with a cop and he knew better than I did and how I was going to get in trouble for not getting my inspection done.
So TLDR, the work has held up and I have no complaints with the quality, but I don’t have to put up with that kind of rudeness and I’ll take my business elsewhere from now on.

Don’t trust this man, he sold me a truck w multiple oil leaks. I didn’t notice because he sold it to me with no oil in in the engine.
When it was knocking a week later and I took it by his shop he tried to blame me. I did not check the oil level when I bought it because I figured that it was pretty normal practice to sell a vehicle w oil in the engine. Or tell me it needed oil. He did tell me the oil sensor was broken and would fix (or rig it) is was I’m guessing he did. He is a snake with a smile and take your chances dealing w him but I would recommend driving a few more miles down memorial because there are better options besides this scum stop!

Today, I went into their sales office, asked if they could perform an oil change on my car. Both father and son were in the office, did not look busy whatsoever, and the owner said no that they would not do an oil change. No explanation whatsoever. Not «No we’re booked for the day» or «No, we did our last oil change at 2pm» (which was close to the time I went)…just nothing at all. This was very unprofessional and I won’t return and will urge others not to go there. m

Sammy’s Auto Care and Collision provides excellent service. I needed repair on my rear bumper. Sammy and his employees were very polite and answered all questions. They showed me exactly what they would be doing to the car. My car is a little over a year old so very new and so was important that the bumper and paint looked like new. Sammy took care of my car and when heavy rain caused high humidity, he made sure job was done right and didn’t rush the job. Highly recommend if you want a professional repair.

Sammy, the only paint that went bad was your job. The rest was perfect for a van we keep in the garage (80K miles). You didn’t paint the bumper, you even said you would replace it, but you didn’t. You gave the quote and then cheated, lied and cursed me in front of others. You are a very bad business, and I’ll tell everyone the truth.

Great job with the painting and installation of a new rear spoiler on my BMW. Sami patiently answered all my questions and provided excellent service!

Sammy’s is the only place I’ll take my car. They always take great care of it, and each of the workers is so nice. I couldn’t ask for a better place, so I keep coming here!

STOLE OVER $ 1,000.00 FROM MY FAMILY.
I brought my car to Sammy’s due to a tapping noise when I drove it. He said that the issue was my transmission which made the job shoot up to $ 1700. After weeks with no returned calls, I go to pick it up and it had been hit bad in the lot in the rear. He offered to take $ 300 off but it was still well over $ 1,000.00. The truck was never fixed still tapping. I took it to another mechanic who said that it was only a leaf spring that would cost less than $ 200 to fix. They also said that absolutely nothing I paid for was fixed or replaced.
NEVER MAKE THE MISTAKE OF TAKING YOUR CAR HERE. They will rip you off and steal your hard earned money and wreck your car. There are several other auto shops down the road with much better service and prices, PLEASE go somewhere else. Worst customer service experience I have ever had and now I’m out tons of money. This company does not deserve to be in business.

Sammy is a nice person… but this shop is not a highly skilled shop. My engine light is on. And they use two days to check and then tell me they couldn’t find the reason. Of course they didn’t charge me one dollar… at least it’s a honest shop

When I first called them they gave me advice about the problem I was having with my car before I came in and things to monitor while driving it in, it was like I was talking to a friend, not someone who just wanted my money. Outstanding service and very friendly too. They got us fixed up and out of there really fast, even on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely be going back there next time I have a problem.

They are so nice. It is exactly the kind of mom and pop’s shop I wish to find. In a city full of crazy drivers, I feel pretty safe now knowing when I get into something bad with my car, they got me covered.

Just walked in for service, no one bothered to come talk to me. Tired of waiting, taking my business down the road.
UPDATE– appreciate the response, 375+ days later though is too little, too late.

Realized I was a month over due for getting my car inspected (this is something my dad normally takes care of). I was unsure about where to go over by my work. I Unilocaled car inspections and Sammy’s was at the top with raving reviews. I can tell you now the reviews for Sammy’s don’t lie. The team at Sammy’s is really great! Although Mr. Sammy himself didnt work on my car, I did meet him. The reviews are true, he is a friendly man and is very good with his business and customers. This will now be my go to place for my auto care needs. THANKS SAMMY!

Great service and friendly owner greeted me when I arrived

Taking your car to a mechanic is always a pain — but it would be less painful if you stayed away from Sammy’s. I took my car in on a Friday morning shortly after they opened because the lights in my car were flickering, and my ABS light kept turning on. Explained my issues to the lady at the front desk, filled out some info on a sheet, and left my keys. No issues there, at all.
About four hours later I get a call from Sammy. He says that he checked out my car, and that I needed a new alternator and a new battery. He estimated the alternator at $ 379 plus $ 150 labor, and $ 150 battery plus $ 50 labor. I told him I would be by in a couple of hours to speak to him in person about it. When I arrived, I was greeted by Sammy. He went over the issues with the car again. Then, I voiced a concern about my aftermarket radio being the culprit (I’ve had issues with the radio turning on and off long before the other lights started flickering — we suspected a bad install on the radio, or a broken fuse). At this point, Sammy became quite rude, and very condescending, saying that the battery was the problem and that I needed to get that fixed and not to worry about the radio. I don’t know tons about cars, but I don’t appreciate my valid concern being brushed off like it doesn’t matter. After this, I asked Sammy if he could give me a copy of the estimates, because I needed to come in another day to get the work done. He said he would get it, and proceeded to spend the next 10 minutes opening his mail and chatting with other customers (whom he seemed to know on a more personal level). After all this, he scribbles out an estimate on a notepad, gave it to me, and the cashier rung me up for $ 35. Kind of a steep for a quick estimate, but whatever.
After this, I decided to take my car to the mechanic right across the street — Practical Auto Care, right off of Tully. Took them less than an hour to complete an estimate (for free!), and only a day for the work. Turns out my battery was fine, it was only the alternator that needed to be replaced. They charged $ 200 for the alternator and only $ 100 for the labor — nearly half of what Sammy wanted to charge me, AND he was trying to get me to buy a new battery, too.
Long story short: Sammy’s Auto Care is great if you liked to get ripped off by a condescending man. Go across the street and save yourself some pain, and money.

Sammy was cool. I came in for an oil change, quoted a price and estimated time and all were met with no exceptions. They also fixed a valve stem in my tire which had been leaking at no charge and I didn’t even have to ask. Repeat customer definitely.

Took my car here for an inspection today at around 1:30, when I first arrived I wasn’t sure where to park so I just pulled up to the office. I was promptly and warmly greeted by Sammy himself, we talked for a second and then I proceeded to give him my insurance information and car keys to have the inspection done. Half way through the mechanic came by to tell me I needed to change out my wiper blades, Sammy interjected and proceeded to give me some details on the options to make an informed decision (which I greatly appreciated). The inspection took all but 20 minutes to finish thanks to them for getting me bumped up in line and getting it done faster. All in all it was a great experience and in the future I would recommend my friends and family to come by Sammy’s to get their car serviced.

Sammy just made my day. He’s the owner of this family-​run business and he took care of me like a friend (and it turns out he is a friend of someone I know who spoke very highly of him after I shared my experience).
I rolled into his shop with very bad, squeaking brakes. He showed me where the problem was (all 4 rotors needed smoothing), and when he found out that I was from out of town and had no option but to wait the 4 hours for parts and labor, he moved me up in line and expedited the work so I only waited about 2 hours, which I very much appreciated!
He was very friendly, honest and helpful. I highly recommend this mechanic to anyone!

Busy and comfortable service station. Dropped in for state inspection and several working trucks from service companies were in for maintenance. Owner new most people by name and gave attention to all who needed it.
Great service from a business who seemed very interested in local support.
