At Russo’s New York Pizzeria, we’re inspired by the traditional Italian values of family, friends and, of course, food. Our menus deliver delicious Italian meals prepared with our passion for food, fresh ingredients and the goal of providing our guests a distinctive dining experience. Reminiscent of the authentic pizzerias from the Italian neighborhoods, everything is made from scratch with hand-picked ingredients, in traditional Italian style.
Into the oven it goes. Russo’s New York Pizzerias only use traditional brick ovens because brick ovens give Russo’s New York pizza the crisp crust and authentic taste our fans and guests have come to love.
History
Established in 1992.
Anthony Russo is a first generation Italian. Both parents immigrated from Sicily and Naples, Italy, to New York in 1962. At the early age of 12, Anthony spent a lot of time with his family and other influential Italian chefs in the kitchen learning how to prepare fine Italian meals and New York-style pizza. His dad’s motto was, «If you can’t make it fresh, don’t serve it!» Using his culinary experience, Anthony was able to blend the simplicity of the pizzeria with the freshness of a fine Italian restaurant. It was at this time that the New York Pizzeria concept started to materialize. Anthony was able to serve high quality food while providing an exceptional fast-casual dining experience.
In 1992, the opening of the first New York Pizzeria in Houston, Texas, was a revelation in the Texas market. Customers were hooked with a single bite, and before long, Russo’s was the rave of Houston. We knew we had a hit, and we never looked back.
