I came across this little Convenience Store by happenstance after looking for a store close to the hotel I stay at frequently that didn’t require me to circle 1 – 10 and deal wth the one way service roads. When I first spotted the sign I wasn’t sure it was a convenient store since Richard isn’t a name most would associate with a Food Mart(there aren’t any gas pumps) but after meeting the owner and the appearance of the property there’s no doubt this is a place most anyone would be proud to put their name on the front marquee. You won’t find people loitering in the front of this store or any sign of trash anywhere, it’s very well maintained inside and out. I guess as strange as the name of this little store seems to be I think it’s more about the pride exhibited by the owner with his friendly demeanor and customer service skills than anything else. I don’t think it matters if it’s call Richard’s «Dick’s», «Dickie’s», «Rich’s», «Richie’s», «Rick’s», «Ricky’s» or «Rickey’s the bar is set pretty high for privately owned convenient stores in the area and after looking around I’m spending my money here.
